    The problem Peter Lawwell has in criticising FoCus is that he was the one who wanted them set up. Or one of the prime movers apparently.

     

     

    Now I don’t buy this entirely as in my opinion the people who drove the whole OB FoCUS agenda were the police but going by the records, at the The Joint Action Group summit of 8th March 2011 only days after the so called “shame game”, a 6-point proposal was put forward by the Football Co-ordination Unit Scotland, which consisted of Rangers FC, Celtic FC and the Scottish football authorities, and one point called for the establishment of a national football police unit.

     

     

     

    The JAG accepted this proposal and as a result (FoCUS) was established in July, 2011, backed by a £1.8m investment from the Scottish Government.

     

    There is also evidence that JAG (Lawwell and all) had accepted the OB Bill “(once passed)” would be the basis of training the police so this presents Peter with a problem. IMHO of course.

     

     

    This isn’t my impression of the football authorities & OF being marched to the summit and told to sign up to the government’s and police’s demands.

     

     

    O’K Celtic later distanced themselves from the OB and apparently didn’t attend the later JAG meetings (once they saw how unpopular the Bill was), but the fact remains that at the inception and on the record our club’s fingerprints are all over FoCUS & OB Bill (once passed).

    This acquiescence makes it difficult for Peter/Celtic to speak up for the fans when FoCUS run amock.

    Absolutely…….the real Celtic Supporters just want to enjoy the Celtic experience………and any ultra politico nutters will get shown the door…..hopefully, the real Celtic Supporters within the ranks of the GB will return to the fold and assist in enhancing the already brilliant Paradise Experience…….

    You distinctly said on here earlier that posters on here made heroes of the the Green Brigade and implied that people who weren’t at the game had no opinion on what happened today,

     

     

    Please repost where I said heroes were being made of the GB. Plus, how does anyone not at the game can give an opinion of any issues can give a reasoned opinion, unless second hand. Are we talking blatant obvious sense here? How is it possible for anyone not at the game give an honest and accurate account of what actually happened at the game? Incidentally, I believe a total of 3 fans were dismissed from the stadium, the way you lot are on you would think it was the whole SW stand. You lot really have to get a life, or …. Ach I’m no saying it. I’ll be renewing my ST next season and won’t miss the doomsdayers who won’t. Oh, and all the supporters in the supporters club I am honoured to be a member, are also renewing.

    I listened to that Shortbread discussion earlier with Spiers, Cosgrove and Jackson.

     

     

    Jackson’s views about the GB were similar to some of the posters on here.

    A few of us managed to get our hands on Barca season books for the game on wed, quality seats at the half way line, tickets for the section were about 120 euros.

     

     

    The books cost them 750 for the season, that includes all games, CL, Copa del Ray etc, they also pay 150 a year for membership, seems a reasonable deal for the product on the park.

    Madden seemed to allow the Hibs players to kick several Celts, especially second half. He contrived to book 2 Celts: Emelio for diving and Samaras for very little. Haven’t seen the alleged dive to judge.
