Margaret Mcgill,
I have no problem with the Green Brigade Making a point as you call it, but not inside a football ground were they know the club will be reprimanded as has happened. We go to the game and support the team and that should be the only agenda on match days.
As for your last comment you are suggesting that some Celtic fans are old farts. Well i suggest you go and do your rebel bit elsewhere. That comment was an insult to all Celtic fans who in my opinion are all free thinkers
I haven’t noticed anyone insulting other posters, apart from the board lovers.

After a horrendous day of weather, I arrived at the ground with the back of my trousers absolutely wringing. Had to sit on these for the entire game. Football?? would not have let farm animals out in that weather. Howevah, supporting Celtic is in the life you want to be, if you are not happy, like every other choice you have in life, go elsewhere. I actually enjoyed the game today, and, Izzie was defo fouled. Stonewaller, IMHO. The GB, they’ve just been moved back to their original position. Oh yes, they were there today without the banners. Me, like the majority of Celtic Supporters, wiil be renewing my SB. Why???? Because I am a Celtic Supporter. I do not give a toss what any political issues some fans have, that, to me, is their problem. If they want to support Celtic, and only Celtic, they are welcome. If they have other political agendas, sorry, the majority of Celtic fans don’t want or need you. BTW, that new bus park is a joke for the majority of supporters. I’m a bit concerned that so many are seemingly prepared to protest by boycotting, although I completely understand. The board have created the current situation, in my view, because they were/are in an extremely difficult position and chose the path of least resistance. They don’t have the bottle to deal with the smm and deal with the issue appropriately. I believe there’s a desire to be seen to be dealing with a problem that is really much smaller in scale than is being portrayed online and in broadcast media. The GB haven’t helped by providing gleeful hacks and commentators with ammunition, but they could have been managed far better than they have.
However, despite my misgivings, recent events have acted as an ironic reminder that Celtic is more than a football club. Much as I wish it wasn’t necessary, for me Celtic serves a distinct purpose in its institutional and secular role representing a social group that requires defending in a society that retains hostile elements at various levels.
I worry at the prospect of a CFC that lacks support from that community because there’s a mutual dependence issue at stake. The scale of the negative media attention given to recent analysis of Celtic is an indication of the hostility that still exists. I’ll go back and support the team for that reason.
Although I have to say I just love watching Celtic. I should maybe have said that first…

Hi Ernie-thanks for reply – I think agreement by the club and the GB would have been reached regarding what is political – surely it is self explanatory.
I think for UEFA it was a curious decision to allow mandela tributes, as it does open a can of worms- I mean, what is to stop Serbian warlords, Russian mafia, EDL, UVF, right wing death squad banners being displayed?
I believe UEFA regard Mandela (rightly) as a unifying figure. They regard (rightly) Sands as a
divisive figure.
I think the board won’t get anywhere with UEFA as usual. They probably have asked for clarification- God knows what they were told.
It all comes down to this – the GB lied to the board and abused their trust. What do they expect.
Now Ernie, answer my initial question – what if a compromise was reached with the GB, and they did it again, leading to another fine and (if again) possible closure of ground (and eventually expulsion from competition). What would your position be regarding the GB?

The Morton and Arbroath crowds were (in my estimation on those days ) about 10-12,000. There was a bigger crowd today, no doubt and I stated that.
I took some time to gauge Celtic Park this afternoon: The main Stand was 2/3 full; the LL and JS looked to have 1/4. The North stand a little more and I put that at about 7,000.
Hence the 18,000.

Celtic supporters are being criminalized and our bored are going along with it old farts young farts and all. If you are a free thinker you will fight against this sustained attack on Celtic supporters. Currently Celtic supporters have no sway whatsoever in the future of the club. In fact Celtic supporters cannot even get the bored to be honest at AGMs.
