Think Doohan had a really good season with Ayr … I might wrong but think he is a big Celtic fan fae Clydebank ?? I think the loan move is excellent piece of business for County & Celtic … hope the Bhoy has a terrific season

I think we were meant to assume that was the case.

In that case, I’ve no idea.

But it’s longer odds than if there were ten. (other factors would be involved obviously but I don’t think we want to concern ourselves with any of that).

Look out for two for one offers on birthday cards, etc.

You are correct. Ross Doohan is indeed a Bankie Bhoy. He will do well in Dingwall for a season.

    Great workout,

    Lots of intensity at times,

Full of running and chances, just shoot more,

Glad Taylor is OK. Bain had a good last 15 mind as well. Solid.

  9. As someone who once got an answer marked as 11 out of 10 by a Professor of Statistics at Strathclyde, I can confidently state that the odds of two sisters giving bith in the same year are considerably shorter than that of 2 brothers.

I was on another thread commenting on the game. We were far superior to Ross County in our relentless attack and possession but we were very profligate with our chances. Only weak performances came from Eddy (too selfish) and Christie (who improved as the game went on).

Anybody who thinks this was a poor performance are going to have plenty of chances to moan thier way to 10 iar this season.

Bhoy I work with knows him well, a bit younger than us two … he was at school with “Bridges” still stays in the area, it was him that was telling me last season about Ross doing well at Ayr

The young bhoys reach a stage when they need to be playing men’s football to develop otherwise they can regress. I would like a b team in the lower leagues to make that possible, but failing that we should be looking to loan bhoys out to other clubs. Problem with the second option is that it can prove difficult for kids to force a senior player out of a team even if the kid is technically better due to matuaty, muscle, experience and knowhow gained from playing 100 games plus.

Neil seemed happy in the interview after the game … I think young Taylor is a far better player than many fans think, unlike others I think his deliveries into the box are very good and he mixes up his crosses as well … hope he has a terrific season :-)

I thought Callum MacGregor wouldn’t make it with Celtic (shows how much I know :-) … his loan spell at Notts Co was so important … I agree with you, in fact I would scrap the development team and loan the lot of the out … even down in the EPL the likes of Beckham & Kane are examples of the loan system but only works if the players apply themselves correctly

Good to read … hope he has a great season and gets the gloves in the next few seasons … nothing better than a Bhoy living all our dreams :-)

I noticed on the Celtic Blog that bhoys had login and performance problems using the virtual app. I never experienced anything, even switched devices mid game, Performance was fine.

  16. Leigh Griffiths: Celtic manager Neil Lennon lauds striker’s improved fitness

    Leigh Griffiths and Neil Lennon

Leigh Griffiths scored 11 goals for Neil Lennon’s Celtic last season

Neil Lennon has “nothing but praise” for Leigh Griffiths after the Celtic striker improved his fitness while his team-mates were on camp in France.

Manager Lennon left Griffiths, 29, behind when the side went to play Nice, Lyon and Paris St-Germain.

The Scotland international has scored 115 goals in 231 appearances for Celtic.

“I gave him a bit of criticism while I was away,” Lennon said after Sunday’s 2-0 friendly win against Ross County.

“He’s got himself in great condition. He needs a little bit of time in terms of his football. He will get some game time tomorrow [against friendly opponents Hibernian].

“It’s a great boost. It’s the minimum requirement. He’s got himself to a really good level, so it’s important he maintains that because he will be an asset for us.”

    ‘Griffiths must find fitness motivation’

Lennon said there was “nothing at the minute” regarding transfer activity but explained: “I’m hoping to add to the squad, there’s no question of that. Sometimes these things take a bit of time.”

The manager was “very pleased” with a run out against County in which an own goal by Coll Donaldson was followed by Mohamed Elyounoussi’s effort for the hosts, who open their Scottish Premiership defence against Hamilton Academical next Sunday.

Left-back Greg Taylor went off injured, but Lennon told the BBC: “He thinks he should be okay.

“It’s a trauma knock. We’re hoping he’ll be ready for Wednesday or Thursday to resume training. He should be okay for the weekend.”

Would love to see Coatbridge Bhoy Stephen Welsh make it at Celtic too. Big season for Ross and Stephen. 🤞🍀🍀

Didn’t know Welsh was a ML5 bhoy, will need to try and find out more :-)

  19. A while back I was an advocate on here for a Fletcher – Stokes front line….

    It could still happen!

  20. Meanwhile in Switzerland with Young Boys winning today it means they are Champions and Celtic will be seeded in all 4 rounds of CL qualifying.

Means reaching the Play Off round we will avoid the higher seeded teams but still still some decent teams in the unseeded half of the draw so no guarantee of an easy tie albeit over 2 legs

  21. Don’t think CL will get off the ground this year. Second wave of CV almost inevitable I’m afraid.

Testing testing testing testing testing testing – that’ll be how the CL will operate.

  23. First Pass to Paradise Test Game a Huge Success

By: Newsroom Staff on 26 Jul, 2020 16:48

Almost 50,000 Season Ticket holders successfully logged on to the ‘Pass To Paradise’ platform this afternoon for today’s test match to watch the Champions mark their long awaited return to Celtic Park with a 2-0 victory over Ross County.

Today’s pre-season friendly was the first of two test matches where Season Ticket holders were encouraged to login and test their credentials and connections to the ‘Pass To Paradise’, the virtual element of the 2020/21 Season Ticket.

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to login and watch the match with us today.

There was an issue today that affected a few thousand fans around kick-off time that the technical team have managed to resolve. Stress testing the system in this way is vital to ensure we are ready for the season starting next week, so thanks to everyone affected for your patience.

I believe that Celtic should send 18/19/20 year old players out on loan , but they should go out with the attitude that they want to be a Celtic player , not that they are .

  25. What a huge shame that our previous manager has failed in his champions league qualifier this afternoon.

Never mind it is something he has experience with and I am sure he will have all the motivational lines required for his players….
