CELTIC’S £7m MOVE GETS GO-AHEAD

CELTIC have agreed a fee in the region of £7million for Toulouse centre-back Christopher Jullien.

Neil Lennon has been in pursuit of the powerful 26-year-old defender since the end of the season as a replacement for Hertha Berlin-bound Dedryck Boyata.

Jullien met with his agents yesterday to discuss his future and French sources believe the Hoops will get their man with the giant stopper keen on the move to the eight-in-a-row champions.

The player has attracted interest from clubs in England and Germany, but the Parkhead men appear to be in pole position to negotiate personal terms.

FRENCH FANCY…£7million-rated Christopher Jullien.

Jullien, who has also had spells at Auxerre, Freiburg and Dijon, sparked transfer speculation yesterday as he posted a cryptic photo on Instagram boarding a plane.

Celtic’s most consistent back four during last season’s historic treble treble campaign was Mikael Lustig, Dedryck Boyata, Filip Benkovic and Kieran Tierney.

With Arsenal counting to circle £25million-rated KT, Lennon faces the prospect of having to put in place a completely new backline.

Boyata has moved to the Bundesliga, Lustig has joined Belgian outfit Gent while Benkovic has returned to parent club Leicester City after his season-long loan.

However, there is still talk of the impressive Croatian Under-21 international being allowed to progress his career at Parkhead with a second stint with the Hoops.
