Champions!

1808

Congratulations to Ronny Deila, his players and supporting cast on becoming Scottish champions, season 2014-15.  The man from Norway has got his team playing flowing, attractive, football, he has improved players throughout the squad, and should be delighted with the shape of the club at the moment.

Congratulations too to the Celtic fans, who recognised the manager and team needed their support, which has been delivered solidly throughout the campaign.

I’m delighted for Aberdeen, who have matched Celtic toe-to-toe against the rest of the league.  It has been a stunning season for a team with comparatively meagre resources.  Motherwell were best of the rest for the last two seasons, but they were miles off the pace, and never reached the consistency of Aberdeen this season.

It’s four in a row for the third time in our history, matching Willie Maley’s team’s achievement in 1908 and Jock’s in 1969.

These are great times to be a Celtic fan, enjoy being champions!

Livibhoy, just read your post and your earlier one too, enjoy your holiday mate I love reading your thoughts on Celtic.

  2. HT,

What a supporter you are, you’re on the ball with your analysis of players, they want to play the best that is put in front of them.

The difference is, if you’re a supporter its 24/7 with the cheating b******s, like your goodself we remember their baster***d niar due to cheating.

Don’t give them the room to breath. Hail Hail

One last time for the hard of thinking

The meeja in Scotland will not allow players or managers to publicise anyone who said they don’t want to play the hun ever again.

So bamber tell me, where would I read the opinions of such a dissenting manager or player in the Scottish meeja ?

I will be happy with a league repeat and a sustained run in Europe next year ala 2003. And to all you lurking Hun’s, you can only imagine the feeling of the worldwide Celtic family right now, its akin to living in suburbia and staring at the lights in the big city and wondering what all the commotion is, as Tony D would say girfuy

Still here pal,it’s funny because I like reading your posts because my mental picture of you is one of my old teachers from 20 odd years ago, massive Tim,related to an ex player, every time I see your name I think about the chat we used to have with him but you’ve shattered my illusions tonight by saying your teaching career was in its early stages at their 9 in a row lol so you obviously aren’t my old teacher lol!

    The Man in the Chair

For all her eight years there were tantrums and tears

when her Daddy set off for the game

‘Why can’t you take me?’ she had said with a plea

Till one day he said, ‘It’s time that you came.’

Eyes wide with wonder, at last she was there

She looked at her Daddy and smiled,

‘Daddy,’ she said, ‘ who is that man in the chair?’

He knelt and said ‘listen my child…’

A long time ago, long before we were born

The children went hungry at night,

Some younger than you had jobs they must do

Their lives were a struggle and fight,

Some went to school with no shoes on their feet

Some didn’t go there at all,

Some walked the streets to beg those they’d meet

Some worked in the mills or great halls

And it tore at the hearts of Mothers who’d say

    ‘Things will be better tomorrow.’

Though they’d work and they’d pray they knew the next day

Would repeat all the struggles and sorrow

Then that man in chair decided to act

He started this fine football team

The money they made fed children each day

and things weren’t as bad as they’d been

So you see my sweet child, that man sitting there

did good things a long time ago

We remember each day, if we’re passing this way

we must all help his kindness to grow

Her face deep in thought she knew she must not

Forget the lesson she learned there that day

‘So the man sitting there reminds us to care?’

Her Father nodded, ‘That was always his way.’

The child looked around at a roar from the ground

as the wind blew her long auburn hair,

She let go of his hand and she walked to the man

Who gazed at her from his great chair

Then she knelt to the ground as the people around

stopped to watch this little child pray

She said, ‘Never again will we let heartless men

see the children go hungry each day’

Then she stood with a smile as he walked to his child

Took her hand and with infinite care,

They walked to the ground and the child looked around

and whispered ‘Thank you’ to the man in the chair.

Not sure if anyone posted, but there was a fair bit of bother in Coatbridge tonight, in the Whifflet.

For those that aren’t familiar, whifflet is a street with with 5 pubs, 4 Celtic (broadly speaking) and one Hun pub.

It is an area not unaquainted with the odd fitba related incident.

Passed about 5 ish tonight, 40 or 50 polis, lots of polis invans, polis in cars, polis on bikes, on foot, pokis on skateboards, polis on pogo sticks etc. you get the picture. A real SNP wet dream!

‘We won the league and the Huns canny take it’ was my first thought. Wouldn’t be the first time.

It seems though, the trouble was caused by Dunfermiline casuals! They were apparently playing Airdire today and ended up in a bar in the whifflet where some mayhem ensued.

Glad we don’t play in the wee leagues. Look what happens.

  12. The huddle

Concentrate on celebrating Celtic winning the league – don’t get drawn in to anything other than that.

They are ramblings of my thoughts about the club. My wife talks to me half the time and I am thinking tactics, scouting players, reading CQN, contacting people with fitba connections, thinking of ways to make the club money, helping supporters get to games, helping people get tickets, etc.

She thinks I am aff my heid half the time because I barely actually listen. Hahahahaha.

    I’m one of life’s dreamers!

I was down watching a Morton training session a few months ago and was very impressed with Jim Duffy and his boys.

Lot’s of one touch movement in training, plenty of off the ball work and they all seemed like a happy bunch of lads with loads of joking and laughing in between the hard work.

I hope they do really well next year.

On a much happier note, many thanks to ronny, the two johns, jim mcg, stevie woods and the rest of the backroom team along with our players plus our support for keeping at it when we were getting no end of crap from the media and others.

Let’s do our jobs even better next season .
