Derbies against struggling mid-table teams

217

Another home Glasgow derby against a team struggling in mid-table and another lead conceded. This is why consecutively winning so many games is historically difficult, not just in the Scottish league.

The randomness of Ade Azeez scoring at Celtic Park is what keeps football from going stale. Fortunately, that randomness didn’t extend to scoring a winner, so the potential of an unbeaten treble remains alive.

There were plusses. Eboue Kouassi made his first start, and Tom Rogic returned from a lengthy absence to replace Eboue shortly after the hour. Jack Aitchison, our youngest ever goal scorer, got the last 15 minutes, a valuable exposure to the heady heights of first team football.

I doubt Brendan Rodgers will be even slightly upset by the dropped points to the extent that he would be less keen to rest players for Kilmarnock on Saturday. Even though Kilmarnock are clearly world-beaters after securing a point against the greatest coach to finish in fifth place in Qatar.

In the next couple of weeks we’ll be shipping, In the Heat of Lisbon, with what is an absolute cracker of a T-shirt (below). If you don’t know what it is, I’m not going to tell you, but I think it’s just brilliant…..
lisbonteeoffercouchYou can buy the two of them here, £19.67 the pair.  Can’t wait.

Nice and dry here with the sun trying its best to get out. Hopefully stays dry for the photos and not to windy as I’m wearing a Kilt.

    Bognor,

Agree may as well try and start something…..so what’s this league Hun date being released first about? Blog media suggests:

Are nets to the roof to be put up after the game?

Are they needing the cash early?

If it’s the latter then hope the cheque is being sent by snail express……

  6. Cash …it’s always cash with them.

    Just reading back…

About ten years ago myself and a friend, drove round the southern half of Ireland over a week. One of the best holidays/adventures I have ever had.

We flew from Prestwick to Dublin, and hired a car, driving west to Mullingar, where I vaguely knew a few people from a previous visit. Our first night, and all of our subsequent accommodation, was in an excellent B&B. B&B is an art form In Ireland, fantastic pork sausages, fresh eggs, salty bacon, all served with a bit of craic and travel advice.

Second day we drove to Galway, and met up with a very close friend, which resulted in a lot of Guinness being consumed. As we left Galway, we took a slight detour, for some photo opportunities, at Athenry, and a much needed cures for me, being the non driver.

The rest of the trip followed the same pattern, great nights, great pubs, great days, stunning drives.

As you head south, on the west coast, the scenery just gets better. We stayed nights in Tralee, Dingle, Macroom and Kinsale, before arriving at Cork. We stayed two nights here. Great pubs right enough Corky. The last leg was fairly long, back to Dublin, and we probably needed a holiday on our return, at least our livers did.

All in all having driven all over Europe, I would say Ireland is uniquely suited to a driving holiday. First class.

The most expensive delivery service in the world has just delivered my semi final tickets !

  10. It does seem a slow news day, but then again Iv noticed over the past 5 year thems usually pop up with something on a fri. Afternoon for what reason I don’t know, but form tells me that something may hit the social media today, I haven’t been told anything or had a wee Chinese whisper, just a felling :)

  11. Now I don’t know if this is true but I was told that even if you go to C P to pick up your ticket for the semi they still charge an extra £7:00 that true? And if so why?

I very much doubt you will have to pay the £7 if you pick ticket up. There will likely be a fee attached by the SFA for admin but it won’t be as much as £7.

If it is then talk to your pal Peter.

  13. Can anyone tell me if I can get an adult and child season ticket for the Main Stand. I hope to take my grandson next season but my season ticket is for the Main Stand and while I’m prepared to change seats within the Stand, I don’t really want to go to another part of the ground.

    ……………………….

I went to the Ticket Office before the deadline and bought a ticket for the semi-final. No fee involved. I got the ticket there and then.

I’ve had adult and child season tickets in Main Stand for years. Still have them for me and youngest son (eldest has moved to standing section). I got them quite easily about ten years ago as it was at a time demand wasn’t massive (boring football under WGS) not sure what chances are now as there’s meant to be a waiting list for season tickets.

I’m looking into this as we speak, and if it is true then I will go through my normal procedures, I.E. the SLO (John Paul) and if I’m not happy with his response then I’ll go over his head and take it from there myself, PL is far from being my pal, but he does listen to Celtic supporters as he is one himself, it’s not an attack on CFC or PL, I find you get no where with that attitude regarding questions that you have for clarity on a subject, took me a while to adopt the diplomatic way of doing things, I’d rather have the bees making honey, than being a fly eating sheet.
