Doncaster Newco proposal doesn’t get the votes

451

An SPL general meeting today passed several less-significant Financial Fair Play rules (pay your taxes and players) but did not approve a proposal from chief executive, Neil Doncaster, that a mechanism should be introduced to parachute a Newco into the top division in Scottish football for the first time in history.

It would have taken 8 votes to see this controversial proposal pass, which it clearly didn’t get.  The SPL reserves the right to vote a Newco in at any point in the future, but those hoping to buy the assets of Rangers were not issued a ticket to the SPL today.

Surprised?

Perhaps connected to the above matter….  The SPL board will this afternoon consider issues relating to allegations Rangers rigged the system for over a decade with dual contracts.

There are too many permutations for me to digest these developments with any accuracy. At first pass, the news appears to be on the upside of what I was expecting earlier in the day.

I’ve taught my Scottish Terrier to speak Polish. But I tried to teach him to use spreadsheets but he made a dogs ear out of it…still he’s smarter than your average hun.

There is an excellent (and very reasonably priced) picture framer in Dumbarton Road, Partick. Just about 100 yards east of Partick cop shop.

He has done quite a few pictures, bothh large and small, for my family and I and we have never been disappointed!

  6. I think we need to trial a summer league for 3years, make the league up to 16 teams so 32 games minimum if no split as has been put forward as mentioned before by PL. There will be less pressure on the teams from a relegation perspective so hopefully better football on better surfaces. If teams are in Europe build in flexibility so they are given help to achieve success and co-efficient. Maybe more young scottish players getting a chance to thrive like mcarthy, mcarthur who are playing on a larger stage. Maybe look at pricing, its €15 to watch a league of ireland match now thats £12 a long way from our overpriced product.

  8. Until now,I have been quite happy with Celtics no comment approach to this on-going farce, however, now that there is a possibility of FIFA involvement, with implied sanctions which could,in very real terms, damage the clubs ambitions,I now believe it is time we entered the arena,a statement from the board, outlining their intentions, would, imo,be very beneficial in allaying fans disquiet, doesn’t need to get personal, merely a demand that the governing bodies, obey the rules, after all,in this instance, the sfa can point to the rules as laid down by the world governing body, thereby allowing them to squirm away from all responsibility,in this at least, they have shown themselves to be expert

    45,000 Jobby, I mean Bojo, I mean ….JOBOOOOOOO…..

  11. I see Don Dee Ron Don (i.e. Green) sitting in that meeting (farce) today, shiny patent leather brogues and spats, right foot resting on his left knee, fedora tipped back, toothpick movin’ around his gnashers as he says,”Dis is how its gonna be..me and da “consortium” havva plan…you don’ need to know details, but it’s gonna be spectaculah…gravy for everryone…we’re gonna be rich,I tell youse…first we take out the banking system, forget about tax…WE are the noo taxman…but like I said previous, details mean nuttin’…trust me..you’re gonna wanna be my friend…if not, well…then we burn everrbody’s house down…capisce?”

Of course that’s just my fevered brain, but in this topsy turvy garbage passing for due diligence & oversight it might as well be true.

Every day we are getting fobbed off with tripe galore and it’s beginning to make my stomach churn.

I’m addicted to ….. bad news about rangers. Literally can’t get enough of it, spend great chunks of time searching the web for anything bad about them, it’s absolutely brilliant when you find out new stuff about them in more trouble trying to get out of the mess they are in, personally I hope it never ends unless it’s with them going out of business altogether, I’ll miss it if they ever get back on their feet, hope not, my greatest fear is the secret handshake brigade, they I believe do have the clout to save them,

Just thought I’d share that with you…
