  1. Sandman Is Neil Lennon on

In one way that tepid first half is a testament to the strength and confidence in our squad, in that we never panic, no matter how many players aren’t performing on the day.

We are aware that we have enough in the tank to contain SPL teams.

On the other hand, over-confidence breeds complacency and gives inferior opposition a window they might never have had with the right application from the start.

And it’s dire to watch and in need of some zest.

    Play the PADDY!

  2. Have Celtic been given a bit of luck with the red card! Really luck – more an assault i’d say. Sky no bias there!

  3. HT. We did well to hold on for the first 15 mins. If we had conceded we’d have struggled but we started to come back into it before the sending off. Our passing and play in the last third has been useless and we’ve never looked like scoring

  4. Son of Warsaw on

Wishart on Snyde earlier saying he had been in talks with(unamed) potential buyers of the cheats….. in what capacity was that Fraser ?

  5. Those not watching the game via ‘wireless’ will not be surprised that the national broadcaster’s match commentator ( D. Begg) is figuratively in the Dundee Utd camp…..

    :)

    Agree

We are making the pitch look very small.

Too static, too many players undecided as to whether they are up for it or not.

  7. Wouldn’t change anthing yet, except the attitude

After an hour….with Commons & Paddy on the bench we have players that can change things. Possibly for Hoops with Sammi going up front.

    Come on Celtic!

  8. Is that wee phud for real on Sky. Celtic ‘given a bit of luck with that red card’.

Sammi nearly had his head taken off with that forearm smash, how have we been given anything?

  9. Stokes and Sammi both in each others way.

Also stopping Mulgrew having any impact as that area crowded leaving no space to attack.

Stokes should come more central to start linking with Hooper and force their centre backs to work.

Coaches have to step it up as our shape and gameplan are lacking.

  10. Luck? “Celtic with a bit of luck with that red card” says SS1 man before going to the break.

I call it – applying the laws of the game.

Where I would agree is that DU were looking very dangerous, but that is tempered by the fact that we haven’t hit our stride yet.

Hooper and Stokes with poor first touch / pass meant the ball was given away far too quickly.

Signs at the end of the first half that we will be firing on more cylinders in the 2nd half.

    Fraser Forster – brilliant save.

  11. Dundee Utd very much a form side in Scotland, and the Celtic performance level has dipped since Pitoddrie, last week.

When things aren’t going right up front with both main strikers misfiring it always begins to make, one or the other look like surplus.

I’d imagine though Neil Lennon will hope that either of his penalty box players, will come good with a goal, so wouldn’t expect half time changes, given that he’s already rejigged the midfield and defence, with Wanyama, Mulgrew and Ledley all moving position from the original game plan.

Utd’s ship sailed with Robbie Neilsen, and give me Gary Kenneth for McKay Steven anyday.

Celtic to up the gears in the second half and win by one or two goals.

  12. hail hail from UAE

looks like a beautiful day for a game of football on Tayside

hope Lenny puts a rocket up these CFC players at HT

and we come out firing on all cylinder

come on you bhoys in green

  13. Ok Subs

Subs: Zaluska, Cha, K. Wilson, Commons, McCourt

? not sure what i’d do. Sammi or JF off – Cha on, move JL to midfield. We need to control the midfield we haven’t looked like doing so the entire 1st half.

  14. Neil canamalar Lennon hunskelper extrordinaire on

I was in talks with potential buyers of corrupt fc, in fact I’m in contact daily.

Pretty much anyone with £1 is potentially a buyer :oD

  15. We are looking at a tactic today straight out of the Tony Mowbray tactical manual.

We can thank our lucky stars Nielsson was sent off.

Expect big changes in the second half, a replay would be good, then PL could charge 1 pound to get in, what would the gang of 10 think of that.

Game has 0-0 written all over it

    KTF

  16. Glendalystonsils likes a mr whippy with his lime green jelly on

Hopefully Stokes can get his boots on the right feet in the second half.

  17. HT Dundee Utd 0-0 Celtic

Hard fought first half. DU started well and created a good chance which Fraser saved well. Celtic then started to get to grips with the game and our chances increased when the DU player was sent off. Very brave header from Sammy as the guy bore down on him and the correct decision from the ref.

Vic at Centre half is having a stormer. The back 4 look really strong with Charlie and Adam both getting forward on the wings. We seem to be lacking a bit in central midfield maybe because we have Sammi and Ledley both playing left and James very wide right. Broonie is having to cover a lot of ground in the middle. Service to the front two has been very poor.

Expect Neil to shake things up a bit at HT and exploit the extra man. The Bhoys have to put a shift in second half to win this one.

Terrible, terrible game. Sloppy performance from Celtic. Samaras trying hard but to little effect. Hooper (a favourite of mine) is annoying the hell out of me with his attitude. James Forrest – another ordinary game but went past his man just before half-time. Need to buck up our ideas in the second half or we could still lose this game. Showed some promise in last 5 minutes of first half but everybody has to give more. Not nearly good enough Celtic. Let’s be having you in the second half!

    Q) When did Fraser Wishart stop playing for the ranjurs?

Don’t think he has ever stopped, it has managed to give him at least 5 different jobs at the last count.

    What a guy.

  20. Bloody well said Lenny – Hacks stirring it, outrageous allegations that CFC were the cause of people losing their jobs – name Jabba (I would say shame Jabba but the man has none).

  21. We can talk all we want about team selection, tactics, players not knowing their role and team shape. In my opinion its much more simple. Too many players not trying hard enough and too many players performing badly.

Gotta disagree. I found it a very engrossing game. Sometimes you have to credit the opposition with the way they are playing. Sure some of our guys aren’t at their best but there’s time to rectify that.
