I like your 4 things from yesterday. I’d like to add a 5th.

We played to a very recognisable structure.

    Etc..

    –//—//

agree -The players seemed to slot in to roles easily- A few have rightly pointed out that United are not a good team but you can only play what is in front of you at the time

The only thing I worry about with recognised structures is that smart opponents can suss it and counter

One of my questions marks on Ronny is how well he can adapt during games when the plan is being countered

    Whipping bhoys ?

Barca apart can’t remember too many whippings, although personally “if” we get there I would do a Benfica and aim for 3rd from day 1, a lot of people fling Morton in the face of Neil Lennon, the following midweek we had a chance to guarantee last 16 but don’t let the facts get in the way of losing a treble (whatever that means) but whipping bhoys, nah think you are being a bit imaginative with the truth there

  3. Jimmynotpaul…

Sorry for the mix up on the monikers, I cant c&p for some reason, even the kids have tried and they’re techies.

It went on to the last person I posted too. HH

Rioja is a wine region, with Denominación de Origen Calificada named after La Rioja, in Spain. Rioja is made from grapes grown not only in the Autonomous Community of La Rioja, but also in parts of Navarre and the Basque province of Álava.

    Celtic will prevail in Malmo…..

Rony D will have carried out his ‘job’

Celtic will be the whipping Bhoys of the Champions League

    ———————————–

The same can be applied to practically every other club outwith Spain, Germany, England and Italy.

If we do make it back to the top table we will be there on merit alone.

We are one of the fairest clubs in the the world.

I wouldn’t write us off against any team.

So what if we are defeated by some mob that are financially doped up to the eyeballs?

We are the righteous, our conscious is clear.

yes you are right (again). Neil Lennon was first to work out how to counter barca’s tippy tappy fitba. It will obviously happen that teams will work out how to counter Ronny’s celtic. The trick is to have enough creative players who can recognise this and while working within the general structure do something different when needed. I’m thinking, Bitton, Rogic, Armstrong and Allen are these players.

    I’m booked forDingwall early November.

However I’ve already been warned by B.C. that there will not be any hospital stops.

  12. Question to all. Let us assume that we prevail against Malmo and our prised asset heads of for the bright lights of Southampton shortly after for £10.5mill. Let us also assume that the revenue from CL group stage qualification, and all the income that entails, is worth circa £12mil to the club. I have used a lower estimate as it has been mentioned it could be worth as much as £16mil. Now that’s an man eye watering amount of almost £22mil flowing in to the coffers. Of course we will have to deduct + £1mill or so for Groningen FC due to VVD’s sell on clause. We could also assume that we may also receive +£2 mill for the combined sales of 3-4 fringe players. So lets, again, assume approx. £22mil banked. Now to the question – just how much will the PLC allow Ronnie to spend??????

Me I am guessing no more than 3 – 4 million on 2 players with perhaps a loan signing or 2 thrown in. As a fan I would like between £6 – £8mil spent on a replacement for VVD and proven striker. Even at the top end of that spend it would still leave oodles and oodles of cash to add to the PLC bank account.

    No my ears weren’t burning…:)

Anyway, that’ll be, you and leftcliclicktic for the Train journey, question is how many will return at the same time? The big Mhan normally heads home before me.

    Exactly

    Oglach

If we reach the group stages we don’t need centre halves or full backs big Zlatan will be partnering wee Leigh up front, Ronny will have to go two up front because big Ibramhimovic won’t be happy on the bench because Super Leigh is banging the goals in

The other 3 are my type of player if we can get a system to fit 3 from the 4 we could be in for a fascinating season ..and the one beyond

No train journey for us, too many friends and family are pennycabbers,

we will get a cheap taxi home or they won’t get their tax returns done for them

  20. H.T.

Hopefully will catch up with you before then.

A nervous couple of nights before the big game, which in all honesty I can see all sorts of outcomes. We have to be brave on the ball, keep possession and be clinical in front of goal.

    Night all. Enjoy.

  21. Oglach, the Celtic are into cutting costs and keeping money in bank, been that way for long time, used to think champions league would have Celtic spending more for better players, it does not seem to work like that and so i don’t worry so much about getting to group stages any more, that’s not to say i don’t want to be there i just recognise the club are not overly invested in it which makes it hard for me to get excited, sad but true!!!

still love the Celtic and hope one day we have people in charge who are more able to improve our revenue and ability to compete rather than given excuse after excuse

Gerry, if Broonie’s managers have kept playing him, unless injured or suspended, that shows how valuable they all rate Scott.

As you said earlier about him workingwith the youth players, it shows what a great attitude he has. He will no doubt entertain them with some of his chat and wind ups but when it comes to getting them focused on their game, his tone will be serious.

I work with a Motherwell fan and a Dundee United fan. Both really detest Scott and moan about how dirty a player he is. I said each had a player in their teams, Lasley and Paul Paton, who aren’t slow in sticking the boot in. They both answered they get picked on by refs but Broonie gets away with a lot.

I changed the topic of conversation after that. It wasn’t worth the bother.

Good night all and sleep well.

  24. Oglach….

    Moot point…..

Do Celtic have a contingent liability on our balance sheet?

What has gone on there in last 5 years is irrational.

RUDICANTFAIL – He’s a politician ffs. They are all crooked, well most of them are. I’d say that he is the best of a bad bunch.

Jeremy Corbyn was always a friend of the oppressed people of the occupied six counties – that my friend is a undisputed fact.

Whether or not he continues to be in the future, I cannot say.

    May have been posted before.

    Celtic Rubbish van Dijk rumours:

Reports suggest that Southampton had won the race to sign the 24-year-old Dutch defender in a £10million deal, and that consequently he would miss the second leg in Sweden to join up with the Barclays Premier League club.

However, a spokesman for the Scottish champions told Press Association Sport: “The story is absolute nonsense and Virgil will play on Tuesday. We have no agreement with any club.”

Van Dijk, linked with several English clubs, was one of nine players left out by Hoops boss Ronny Deila for the 3-1 Ladbrokes Premiership win over Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday, with the trip to Malmo in mind.

Celtic lead 3-2 from the first leg in Glasgow, with entry into the group stages reportedly set to earn the Glasgow club at least
