As I wrote recently mate, there is no single person who has done more to ruin Craig Whyte’s early plans for Rangers than Ally McCoist. He might have gone before now had we not had a slow start.

I strongly suspect that, although the press isn’t writing it, he is under serious, serious pressure. Whyte knows if McCoist starts rattling the bars of the cage the fans might back the manager over the owner … one way to prevent that is to get shot of him, and there are rumours from way back that Whyte intended to be rid of him before now. The league lead prevented him doing it … but that lead is gone, and if the gap between them and us opens up … yes, I think he’s in trouble.

The whole club is in trouble. The league lead did more than keep McCoist’s seat safe. It papered over huge, huge cracks and kept fans from focussing on the big picture. They are now wide awake.

McCoist’s position is precarious. I’ll tell you what though … with the demands of their fans, their completely unrealistic demands, if McCoist is not the Last Manager of The Present Rangers he will be the first manager of New Rangers … and that is not a job anyone will want, or keep, for long.

The office for that job will come with a revolving door and an electric chair.

  7. Happy new year to everyone of the celtic family wherever yer coat hangs. Sounds like a very attack minded team. So

come on the bhoys focus and follow up from wednesday.

  8. Ian brines refereeing, that’s a definite wildcard in the pack.

I’d love to say you’ll never see a more useless ref in Scotland, but there’s every chance you will.

  9. Celtic trying the long ball from Rogne and Mulgrew. Wanyama sells Matthews short, but the Welshman does well.

Celtic spread the ball about. Matthews passes to Hooper, Hooper to Forrest who bursts forward, crosses, out for a corner.

Mulgrew sends it across – good ball, causes problems, but cleared.

  10. mncelt standing up for Neil Lennon on

Excellent ball across the box by Sammy after good work from Brown and Stokes
