Pleased to see the Club recognised for CelticLive, the stadium WiFi and content imitative by the European Club Association. Anything which builds our profile at the ECA is welcome.
Today’s Telegraph assures us Newco Rangers chief executive, Graham Wallace, is set to leave the club with his plans to raise £4m at a pending share issue still in the balance. The newspaper further asserts the club is a “toxic brand” and is trying to secure an emergency loan from Newcastle United owner, Mike Ashley.
The club, which informed the Court of Session on Friday that it had only £1.2m cash left, and last night informed the Telegraph it was losing £1m per month, requires vastly more money than the £4m they are struggling to raise in order to finish the season.
Some credit is due to the Daily Record for their splash with photo and leader, “Rangers director Sandy Easdale and a criminal wanted by Interpol tried to negotiate an Ibrox bailout yesterday”. They are reporting two years after Paul McConville’s blog initially broke the news of said Interpol-interested character, Rafat Rizvi.
Rizvi, who can take refuge in the UK as we don’t have an extradition treaty with Indonesia, is allegedly wanted for corruption, money laundering and banking crime, denies the charges, which he has already been convicted of. He should fit in quite well.
As we said at the weekend, irrespective of short-term events, the long-term fundamentals remain unchanged. The only thing to be decided is which of the characters hovering around the carcase will get to pick on the bones.
All credit to Sir David Murray.

Mr Galloway whilst a fine speaker and debater will not fit into the no vote strategy. I like George he is a fine man. He fights for the little guys. I am amazed at his stance on independence tho for his nation. It’s inconsistent with his opinions elsewhere. George has always been about what’s best for George. He will travel the world slating the uk for invading countries and engaging in illegal wars and then ask the people from the nation of his birth to remain part of the uk? Lost some credibility there Geo!

I’ll never tell you what to do or think – you’ve got someone far better than me to do that! – but I find your caution on the issue fascinating.
I’d have had you down as a def Yes man if I’d been asked to make the call…..though I know from your posts of recent months that you’re not (yet!?!)
It’s fascinating. As folk have finally come out with their positions in recent weeks I’ve been fascinated and sometimes quite surprised. In both directions.

Livibhoy…
Good on ya mate.. Someone with integrity and morality. Should we be shaking in our shoes that some sectors of the financial institutions are sabre rattling?? Come Sept 19th, RBS and Standard Life will be as well moving to ‘Loadsa money’ London, cos the people of Scotland wont forget this announcement and their decision.
Fergusson Shipyards on the lower Clyde, taken over by a World Class Scottish Company, with the promise to quadruple the workforce. Its got to be YES !!!

Can’t sleep and just read back there. Eddie – thoughts and prayers with you and your family.
I work in the financial industry in Edinburgh and so does my wife. Our jobs have been in consultation for over 3 months. I am voting yes. I would rather sweep the streets or drive a bin lorry than by manipulated into voting no by some rich Tory from London. Geez my redundancy money and we will move on.
The debate is maybe wearing me down but the scaremongering of the last few days has been akin to the thatcher tactics of the early 80′s.

Celtic are sending a youth team to Qatar next week to play in a tournament. Why?? Workers are dying building stadiums for the world cup. In the last week 2 civil rights workers have went missing and nobody seems to be bothered abt it. Please Celtic withdraw from this tournament. now!!!

betcha it will be carried over again. How much?
=======================
There is still something to be done in order to know what direction it will take. That something is already in train.
The idea is to be able to set out the position before the AGM, reflecting what has been established during the adjournment as a result of cooperation between Celtic and shareholders representatives.
What has been established is that the Resolution is not without substance.

It’s a huge decision. I have read the white paper and listened to the debates and read plenty about it. I was a yes about 6 months ago. 2 things have cemented it. Our jobs into consultation and the panic this week by the 3 grey major parties. Farage must be rubbing his hands. Never have the 3 major uk parties looked as clueless and as totally bland as they have this week. You couldn’t put a fag paper between their policies. Ukip will make huge wins down south next general election. They could put a monkey up for election in some regions and they would be voted in such is the state of the leadership in his rivals. One thing you can say about Farage whether you like him or not is that he is gaining popularity and he offers something and stands for what he believes in. People down south appear to like that. God help us if that stooge and his party get any level of support at the next election. I reckon they will get a rake of seats!

Has it been substantiated yet that the SFA represented “Rangers” without substance and that Celtic knew this?

To be honest James I’m not sure I’d post on here what decision I finally make. Some of the insults in the past few weeks on here have been as bad as at any time that I’ve posted.
The passion I can understand but the lack of consideration for others’ viewpoints and an inability to cede on any point raised makes the majority of posts futile.

Did the SNP raise a vote of no confidence against the Labour government?
Did the SNP then vote with the tories when Thatcher raised a vote of no confidence against the Labour government?
Did the SNP therefore usher in a Thatcher government?
