FORMER Celtic stars Mark Wilson and Simon Donnelly have teamed up again as a management double-act at Brechin City.
Ex-striker Donnelly has been named as the assistant boss to one-time defender Wilson at the League Two club.
The Glebe Park gaffer, speaking on the club’s official website, said: “It’s an exciting time as we enter a new era, welcome in someone different, new and with fresh ideas.
“Simon coming is a key appointment in helping us progress the club forward to where we picture we can be this season.”
Donnelly has already had experience as being a No.2 to another former Celt, Jackie McNamara, at Dundee United, Partick Thistle and York City.
The ex-players, both former Scotland internationals, made their name at the Hoops and the frontman, now 45, had his finest season at the club during Wim Jansen’s one-year reign in 1997/98 when he scored 16 goals in all competitions playing alongside the legendary Henrik Larsson.
Wilson spent one campaign as team boss at Airdrie in season 2016/17.
Both have worked as media pundits in recent years and Donnelly regularly appeared on Celtic TV.
