Lots going on today, we’ll maybe have a second blog this evening on Craig Gordon, but for now….
Last month I wrote that Dave King’s Fit and Proper issue was a faux precipice. If he was not found Fit and Proper he, “could easily appoint his own people to the PLC board, he would be able to attend board meetings and bark whatever orders necessary.” This issue would not prevent King from investing in the club, or from gaining the kind of influence Mike Ashley had until recently.
There are no SFA rules which could prohibit an unfit and improper person from being the 100% owner of a club. The matter is in the very literal sense, a formality.
Still, in passing such a tainted convict, who has already sat on the board of a club which sailed into liquidation, was subject to considerable criticism from an SPL judicial report, and had his honesty derided by a South African judge, the SFA, have made an improper decision. It’s a marginal call whether our man is better working on the inside or taking nothing to do with it. Neither option is satisfactory, the only permanent resolution to this scourge of the ages is to leave Scottish football behind.
For what it’s worth, I think King is utterly brilliant. Sounding a bit like Rhett Butler in an interview with the Daily Record, he said, “Quite frankly I don’t give a damn what people say or write about me. I will do whatever I think is best for me. The media and the fans will make no difference to my success or failure.”
Stand down all you psychological profilers.
The guy is perfect, how did he convince so many fans he was good for them? Wait, I remember. In the same article he said:
“The only way we can access that revenue is to compete with Celtic. To do that, in our first year back we are going to have to treble our wage bill as a minimum. Depending on how Dermot Desmond responds we may need to make it four times bigger.”
“First year back……. treble our wage bill…… minimum….. may need to make it four times bigger”.
He went on, “I have lost £20m in Rangers already and I’m happy to lose another £30m because I love the team”.
£30m. Go for it, Dave, we’d all love to see it. That would teach Celtic a lesson.
Here’s a few predictions. The No Surrender to a perceived enemy days will be back in spades. They need to dislodge Celtic, its influence and its support. Expect bad PR when a fan illegally disposes of litter and the onslaughts against our CEO to continue. They have not been able to lay a glove on Ronny for months, but wait until we draw a game at home. Players should avoid camera phones, and Scott Brown should never sit down in public. Anthony Stokes will be cautioned against use of a flagrantly Irish accent.
Whatever money is available will flood into the coffers in a desperate attempt to close the gap with Celtic, but there will be no trebling of wages or £30m investment. Instead, the fans will be asked to stump up the big numbers. In the event Mike Ashley is held in abeyance, the window between now and the money running out is critical. I expect nothing more than a shambles, they don’t have the money or the intelligence to take Celtic on, but this is their one big play. Celtic are ready.

COMPETITION CLOSES AT 21:00 tonight, 20 May.
There was some stunning news today. Mary’s Meals, a charity founded in Scotland 13 years ago, now feed over 1m children each day. Almost three thousand of them are in schools funded by you in Malawi. While entering the competition you might want to donate £1 to the Mary’s Meals pot here.
This success is partly yours, so read what you’ve done.

Well I hope those of you who watched the Huns tonight got a glimpse of what to expect when they get into the premiership. The bigotry, the triumphalism, the ned attitude.
I’m sure PL and DD will be proud of themselves eh.
Murray was ok tonight ….no Mibbery required
The Huns will score at Easter Rd.
The tie is over in my opinion.
Hibs are chronic.
Extra time in the TIM Cup Final starts.
Hibs where a poor poor team, and against a very poor team, no threat up front for the whole 90 mins. Gonny need an early goal on sat, or they are fryer tucked.

My original confidence that Sevco would not be promoted has taken a fait ould dunt 0:-)

Didn’t even need any honest mistakes tonight, that’s how bad Hibs where, I can see thems going all the way now.
TCR
Hibs have barely won a pressure game all season ….
All over ….
Couldnae score in a Madams house
Hibs bottle it again.
Think we will be playing Sevco next year…
Shamrock hoops

What a strike fae Lazio. Aff baith posts.
Aye for the first time in their history they will reach the top flight in Scotland,I would like to try and extend some credit to them with it being their first attempt but we all know this is why the play offs were brought into the game just to give the new football club an extra helping hand.
The old cardigan tactics are back, bore you to death, bass as have tippled to elbows as well, he won’t be getting a sniff at a game.
Hibs fluffed their lines tonight. They have ability in midfield and outside the box. No lethal finisher (tonight).
The Rangers team looked fitter than I’ve seen before and also played better than I have seen them before.
Not a gimme by any means. But if they do win this tie, I don’t think Motherwell will beat them. Unless John Sutton does a Chris, then I can change my user name back.
Juve 2-1
The Zombies will be able to rest a few players on Saturday, save them for the Motherwell game.
Hibs have given some the occasional, excellent performance this season. Maybe one more will be served up on Saturday. We ( I) can but hope.

We don’t like each other but I know you are a died in the wool, diehard Tim. Please, please tell Shamrock Hoops that Zi sport the team in green and white hoops. Please!
Have to say that the Mullet is a pragmatic manager and pragmatism is all that you need to beat most Scottish teams if you have a solid side with an out ball. Vjukic provides the wee bit extra they needed to pose Hibs a problem, Hibs spent so much time trying to stop him it left others free.
Didn’t see all the game but from what I saw Calum Murray didn’t put a foot wrong.
Only question for the authorities to consider is the behaviour of the hordes who pelted Hibs players with objects all night. As has already been said can you imagine the furore had that been at Celtic Park and an opposition team was getting treated like that.
Just caught last 20 minutes of hibs game, real poor stuff from them. All over sevco and not a shot on target. Bottled it again.
Is the new sevco tactic, to kick the ball out the park and let their fans keep the ball to waste more time.
Think we can safely say now, sevco will be in SPL next season with their fit and proper tax dodger running the show.
All we need now is minty back with his blank cheque book and we’d never have known they’d been away.
Meet the new firm
Same as the old firm
get rid of that `some` !!
“Welcome. It is not always hun talk here.”
DD,
You must have some memory neebs;)
Stubbs tried to keep it tight, play for the draw. When the first went in Hibs had no way back a it looked as if they were playing with no strikers.
Huns still a poor, poor, team. Vuckic is their only player. And he’s not even theirs…
Anyway, fack um, I’m away to watch a movie HH.
Sitting in Cleveland Airport n thought I’d log in to a happy blog and read how the hibees had humped the horribles. Think I’ll go back to reading my book :-(
In fairness Neganon, If you don’t watch it, you don’t have problems.
Do other Celtic forums keep so much focus on Rangers?
The folk I feel sorry for are the Hibs fans they are constantly being let down it must be so frustrating promising so much but consistently falling at the final hurdle.H.H.

Whatever the reasons for the play off, you cant deny they have brought some much needed interest to the game in Scotland over the past few weeks, both at the bottom of the SPL and at the top of the Championship.

Although to be fair they keep the ball well. At least their hordes do.
I was troubled to focus wade into the crowd. Ah forgot, focus were the crowd!

Huns tie over. Cup final performance from Hibs.
Didn’t even need the ref and I believe tie is over already.
Hibs played pretty but toothless football. The Huns did what they do best. Play rubbish but their direct football got them there and, to be fair, a pretty classy finish from Miller.
And what about the rubbish their fans continually threw at the players? Bloody disgrace and so Hunnish.
Prepare yourself lads. They’ll be back next season……unfortunately they’ll be welcomed as guests not only in our match day programme but also in the boardroom.
Terribly depressing.
the long wait is over
Not watching it – can’t…but the referee has a responsibility for the welfare of players and is responsible for drawing missile throwing to the notice of stewards and police. Tolerating any missiles being thrown at players is just wrong.
Who was it?
Any retrospective charge on sevco about their fans will not restore any credibility. The referee has a responsibility to enforce the same standards.
He may have got all the football decisions right but ….

I watched an Edinburgh derby this season and Michael Stewart said that all through the club there is a lack of belief whereas at hearts there was a desire
Showed it again tonight
