Formidable task for final preseason test

845

I am sure we will see a full strength Celtic team against Inter Milan tomorrow but that doesn’t mean Celtic will be able to overturn their summer form against what will be the best squad of players they have met since facing the same team in the Dublin Cup almost exactly a year ago.  Inter will be formidable opponents.

The experimentation of recent weeks will be set aside as Neil Lennon prepares for next week’s enormously important Champions League qualifying game against HJK Helsinki.  In particular, we are likely to see a more familiar looking back four and midfield.  What happens up front remains to be seen.  Celtic have struggled to get into scoring form preseason; the manager will be keen to resolve this, if possible.

Most of all we need a 90 minutes free of elbows in the face and other injuries as the real stuff is only five days away.

  5. Why all so negative ref announcement by SFA

Basically Rangers seem to have backed down on ALL issues.

I cant make head nor tail of it. Why dont they just stick a good film on a big screen or a Pink Floyd concert and be done with it

  8. Can someone point me to what else SPL / SFA etc could have done other than concede to Green’s requests ?

  9. Burnley

Your second sentence is the point. Rangers. They’re still there and on Sunday will be in a light blue top, with the letters mixed in together as a logo, sponsored by Tennents. They are still alive.

Now I know the other spin on the statement is that it’s life-support, a temporary breathing apparatus until HMRC pull the plug. But my question is why. Why the fuss to keep them alive, albeit ambiguously?

I really do not care what they now call themselves at this minute…..I do care that the SFA / SPL have NOT given any ground to the Serco / Newco / Oldco / The Rangers / Glasgow Rangers or whatever they are known as right now ?

Prince Charles goes out jogging in Hyde Park and meets a lady of the night who offers her services for forty quid.

He haggles, but his highest offer is a fiver,so she tells him to get lost.

This is repeated every night for a fortnight.

Another night he goes for a walk in the park with Camilla and craps himself when they come across the same lady.

As they walk past her, the lady of the night shouts after him “I told you that you wouldnae get anything decent for a fiver”

I agree, div3 for newco and FTT and double contracts still to deal,

So tell me Charlie, are you newco or the old cheating zombie huns?

    HH

    CRC

  13. Anyone who thinks Doncaster will deal with the dual contract situation is delusional ,the man has no intention of doing so, leagues will be reconstructed hastily to enable this newco which seems to retain the history of the defunct RFC to get back to the top league as quickly as can be done.Anything/anyone obstructing this will have the whole of the football establishment against them, so from being in the right trying to do the right thing we get shafted by weak corrupt men and end up to blame. Job done

  14. This is why it is conditional then.

    “There remains, however, an

outstanding issue with the SPL regarding

EBTs. As we have proved in the last

couple of months we will stand up to

any challenges that face Rangers and

will continue to fight for the Club’s best

    interests.”

A masterstroke by Danny Boyle in including that snippet from Sex Pistols at the start, make us all sit up and think – well maybe this isn’t going to be all bad – then includes Flower of Scotland Danny Bhoy and that nice Welsh song to get the wee nations on side. Since then enough surrealtism, comedy and general WTF-ness to keep the cynics watching.

And I do like Mike Oldfield.

I am honestly not sure what they are called right now….R(IA) probably…

For me what matters is that almost everything on CG shopping list has NOT been achieved…..especially the things that they stated publicly matter so much….like EBT outcome……

  20. Burnley78

The SFL and the SFA have given ground to Sevco, of course they have. They get to play on Sunday. They get to play in Division 3, all of that contradicting the rules about three years of accounts. They have bent over backwards to let them in and compete.

Not in the least bit surprised at the Zombies being admitted.

Deferral here, suspended sentence there, not a solitary definitive punishment inflicted on them, oldco or newco.By hook or by crook that game was going ahead on Sunday and the green light to play trialists to assist them on their way.

Sickened by the whole, dirty, rotten Masonic lot of them.
