Forrest Feedback Club, Nir ruffling

913

The James Forrest Feedback Club were quiet last night.  I’ve no idea if James will rediscover his form on a sustained basis, or if his limbs will allow him to attain his potential, but it was good to see him running at defenders with confidence again.

He got the measure of John Rankin early on.  Thereafter the United marker could do little more than block James whenever they faced-off.

I’ve been impressed with Dundee United during this series of games.  Fojut held things together remarkably well at Hampden, you can see why we signed him subject to a medical, while Ryan McGowan was clearly their best player at Celtic Park, notwithstanding his late lunge at Liam Henderson.  Well done to McGowan for coming onto Twitter to share apologies and congratulations.

Nadir Ciftci’s swagger reminded me of Jackie Dziekanowski in his latter days as a Celtic player.  He’s probably found his level at United, where he can turn it on at will, but the modern game is looking for something different.

Loved the moment when a fouled Nir Bitton ruffled the hair of his assailant, Aiden Connolly.  Nir is growing by the week, I’m working hard to avoid comparisons.  We’ve not seen much of an edge from him since that, mistimed, tackle against Ajax, but he could do with some of that in-your-face attitude others in the midfield have.

Not been online much since the game, what suspension have the SFA offered Paul Paton after his altercation with Anthony Stokes?

Keep your eyes peeled for a nomad.  They can hide in bins and outhouses.  Check your shed.  Any will do.

  1. Frankmarker,

Cheers I found the earlier quoted stats a bit queer. Lustig played 46 times for club and country in his first season with us. Yeah they weren’t all starts but 36 over 3 years is a bit low.

That said…He needs to play more or he’s not much use to the bhoys

    No unfortunately.

    Arthurlie are my junior team.

    Always loved humping the Burgh.

If I was Paton, having assaulted a Celtic player in the street and having seemingly got away with another assault on the park on Saturday, I would be keeping a low profile, rather than mouthing off in the press.

When Karma hits him it will be with an almighty wallop.

    Wiki has him on 90

With 29 of those being in Europe

    Only 48 league appearances

Strange stats…my take …he’s fit at the start of the season but struggles as the season progresses

8 apps in Europe but only 5 league apps this season …bizarre

16 apps in total …his poorest full season by far …

Why didnt they ask paton his view of their keepers challenge in the first minute I wonder ?

    My take?

He’s a great player. He gets the Tic. He gets broken often.

It seems like a ‘poo happens’ kinda scenario.

Pains me to see it. A great player in what should be the prime of his career.

  8. Maybe ronnie is telling him take 3 months and pre season and make sure all injuries are behind.. kind of the way he is treating forrest with picking what games he plays.

Im a big fan of lustig..good player who gets the tic. Great to see

Had a good friend that played fro Arthurlie. Rab Young good Celt.

Pretty sure Big Rab stays round the corner from me in Paisley as does Stevie Nugent. Davie Fulton lives directly across the road. He’s kitted me out with a new wardrope since he took his running the the same level as Forrest Gump’s. Weight has dropped off him.

  10. Payton, McGowan, Butcher, you will not here of them again after Saturday’s game, they are also rans and average players and hammer throughers at best three tadgers tarred with the same brush, as soon as they see talent playing against them that they do not have they go out to destroy it at any cost.

I hope we rip them apart tomorrow and do not take out feet off the gas, expose them for what they are a dirty players, it’s those three who are involved in everything they are never to far apart and Celtic players should be carefull at all times tomorrow as they are all daft and do not care.

WHOIS the MIB tomorrow by the way?

By the way, can I just remind the more extreme religous bigots among the Ibrox support that todays eclipse is not, in fact , a natural event. It’s a sign that God is very angry with you and he demands that you sacrifice yourself in his name.

Well, if they believe they are the same club….

    Luv it.

  12. Tim tanium , Maestro brings back memories watching skippy and lex Richardson . The Lee,s Skippy was something special , everything good about watching football. Never made it past the amateurs as far as I know but what a player, what a goal scorer.

  13. Jamesgang,

    Totally agree.

I’m really think it’s a run of bad luck rather than persistant injury.

I don’t think it’s the same injury all the time. Hammy….hip…. Now ankle.

Smashing player when fit though. Looks like he could be doing with some of my grans ‘paritch’ though :)

  14. it would appear that mr paton represents Northern Ireland at international level having been born in Paisley. i’m sure this has nothing to do with the alleged assault, his rough-house tactics in the games v celtic or his outspoken remarks regarding celtic manipulating scottish football for years….seems a bit peepil-esque?

Rab’s no big but I’m sure he does stay beside Brodie Park. Shorter than yoursel and not much taller than me. Which you know isnae that big. Rab was a fab player. Need to go for a pint wae him sometime. Used to have a few too many shernerts with him in Corkers.

Many thanks for your thoughts and prayers regarding my recent bout of illness , I have been out of hospital for a week now and am well on the mend , might even try the game on Saturday . On the bright side I have lost 8 kilos , those of you who know me will know it wont be missed .

Thought the same about Bitton to an extent too till he morphed into this quiff-ruffling destroyer of a Bhoy of late!

So many fitba player who can fair whack a ba’ seem to have chicken legs – eg Beckham.

Sadly, pour moi, I had only 1 of the 2 attributes!!!!
