I think Neil needs to give Rogne a few games to prepare for the eventuality of Wilson getting a suspension.

  2. Motherwell on Wednesday followed by Hearts on Saturday.

If we lose both these games I will be concerned.

Until then I will take heart from the league table and CL prospect.

Difficult to say what the problem is (creative midfielder aside) but we seem to lack the ability to run centre-backs ragged or get in behind fullbacks.

    ———————————–

Really? I though we got behind the fullbacks and to the bye line many times, but the resultant cross/cut back was wayward.

You may well be right, but surely keep the best partnership until when/if Wilson is suspended?

  5. “I thought the attitude of the players was great. I thought our work rate was great. I thought our hunger to win the game was tremendous.

I actually enjoyed watching it. We looked powerful for the majority of the game.” – Neil Lennon.

  6. Very poor today, why do we start games so slow?

And the lack of creativity is mind numbing.

  7. I only caught the 2nd half today so I cannot evaluate the whole performance. What I saw was fairly relentless Celtic attacking against an energetic and packed Hibs defence. I thought we deserved to win but didn’t. I thought Neil’s tactics were fine and I thought Paddy McCourt played well when he came on.

I can cope with the odd defeat. I am not going to credit any of the missing players today as having been obviously better choices than those made by NFL. We lost. It happened. We were unlucky but we could have played better.

I no longer expect to hear much in the way of intelligent analysis of the reasons for our defeat from the usual moaners, which is a pity. But all we will get is complacency, favourites, bizarre selections and subs, no plan B, and the rest of the litany of cliched complaints made by every dissatisfied fan of every team when results do not fulfill their demands.

You’d think that some people only enjoy complaining.

6 points clear with a game in hand over the rest. Still in every cup competition.

Please give me more of this so-called failure and disgrace.

I’m off oot to met other smiling Celts.

After every slip it’s the same. All the positives forgotten. Predictable and pathetic.

God help them if we had some real problems.

Not 100% sure if a play-maker would make a difference. Such a player needs movement in front of him, do we have that ?

Our efforts at getting forward are too slow and ponderous to create gaps. As a result Celtic attacks are “in front” of 9 defenders all champing at the bit to tackle.

The lack of desire, passion to get back into a game is a separate issue and a new phenomenon for me. Most of us will have watched Celtic teams kick, bite and scratch to the 90th minute. That factor is missing right now.

They really have it in for us, going by what they are saying, you would think it was world war 3 at Dens the other night.

You are lucky. I’m off oot for a curry with all the in-laws, all of whom range from mild to unreconstructed sevconians. I am, however confident that their injury time score against a ten man amateur team does not stack up well against a good SPL tie.

Another rubbish performance and result. NL sometimes displays an unwarranted arrogance and then gets his commupance. Very poor team, poor tactics and when you bring Paddy McCourt on you know you are desperate.

    Pathetic.

They have moved onto the Huns now.

I thought the dens stuff was fair enough. Talking heads talk and we have made ourselves a target to an extent in this case.

Billy Dodds currently squirming around people blessing themselves when he was at the Huns. “you won’t be popular if you bless yourself”

  22. We need to shoot more from edge of box AND we need shooting practice. Kayal should have scored and big Vic was unlucky with his left foot drive

One or two of the team need a break ; so let’s beat Motherwell and recharge the batteries before we tackle the 2nd half of the season

On tactics 3 5 2 is not so effective when the opposition play with one up ; we are better playing 4 4 2 with both full backs overlapping to provide extra width. 2 fast players like Wilson and Ambrose can easily deal with one forward player.

Enjoyed being at Easter Road today and was surprise by the size of the hibs support, biggest I have seen in a long time

  23. Just watched the Hibs goal there

    Rogne ..wrong side slow

FF..if he ones for it he has to get it…lacked conviction

Wilson…play the F’ing whistle …jogging back putting himself out of the game …if he’d have raced back he would have had a chance to clear it

We can’t win in scotland, and we especially can’t win unless our board stand up for the club.

  26. Just home from easter rd and watching again on alba

I am watching game on Alba and so far (16 mins) we aren’t playing well- and those I know who witnessed it either online or in the flesh tell me we don’t get much better. But that Hibs goal dies look offside

Really? I though we got behind the fullbacks and to the bye line many times, but the resultant cross/cut back was wayward.

Apologies – my thoughts were ‘in general’ not particularly on today’s performance. Our reliance on scoring from set-plays and yes – wayward use of the ball when we do get behind fullbacks – the lack of precision crossing/ clinical finishing!

IMO our ratio of possession .v. goals scored needs improving – aside from signing a player capable of unlocking defences/ producing the unusual – I’m not sure what the answer is.

I doubt it’s escaped Lenny’s notice and hopefully he’s working on resolving it. :-)

  29. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!.. Ibrox belongs to the creditors on

No requirement for wholesale changes just because we lose one game ….few injuries to key players ……..we have a great squad and we are moving in the right direction, BIGTIME…

  30. Ach well… you can’t expect to win EVERY game. Even Andy Murray has a ‘mare now and again (as does even Novak Djokovic)!

    I blame the black kit.

Bring back the green & gold change kit from 2002-3 and all will be well.

Still on course on all four fronts as we head into January on the good ship Celtic… Happy New Year to all who sail in her.
