Hottest ticket in management lurches in the wrong direction

831

Right now our former captain, Paul Lambert, is one of the hottest tickets in football management so it’s no surprised that Norwich City have been unable to hold onto him.  Inside three years he transformed the club from one that lost 1-7 to Colchester United (then managed by Paul) to one of the most improved teams in Europe, earning two consecutive promotions and a mid-table finish in the FA Premier League.

If Lambert ended up at Liverpool, or even Chelsea, you would not have been surprised.  Instead, he’s set to go to Aston Villa.  During their Martin O’Neill era Villa splurged cash they ultimately realised they couldn’t afford.  Martin walked out days before the start of the season in August 2010.  Since then they pitched Gerard Houllier at the job before poaching Alex McLeish from relegated city rivals Birmingham.

In short, Villa looks like a club without the vision to build stable progress.  Unlike Norwich, who seem to know exactly what they are doing.  They even coped with the loss of Neil Doncaster, who left the club a few months before the arrival of Lambert.

Norwich City is the better job.

I’m on Radio Scotland with Jim Spence around 16:15 today, talking about social media and football, square sliced, the price of milk and lawn care.

well seen you were with Duke.

Haha that’s the places all right. Used to drop him off at the Hibs and pick him up at the Star! I’m not 100% we have the same guy though as he never mentioned brothers. But the guy I’m taliking about was definetely heavy-duty and well-known in every pub we went into.

I cannot thank you enough for that post. It certainly sets the record straight.

Hopefully The BBC has been made aware of the same information that you have outlined here.

It seems now that it was disgracefully biased of a t.v. channel that likes to think it speaks to and of a nation to broadcast such a shallow and one-sided ‘documentary’.

I should’ve known better……but that is the insidious power of t.v. brainwashing for you.

    Again,I thank you.

Thank you. Samaras will play against Lukasz Piszczek on his side. Piszczek is one of the best right defenders in the world, IMO. I would bet Greece is not going to score the goal against us. If we score, we are going to win it.

  7. That article by Spiers….how I loathe that mealymouthed goat and his trumpeting any old tripe on behalf of his beloved Satan F.C.

He twists and spins like a snake in the heat to please anyone who pays him and snide his way around anyone talking to him depending on what he thinks they want him to say. A craven, vain, preening arrogant spider of a man.

    He makes me boak.

No wonder that even the orcs despise him.

    A pariah.

    last Duke story.

we were at tannadice, december one year , really freezing cold. i was driving.

youngest brother and spanish brother in law in car.

we won 2-1 on a bitterly cold night.

outside after the game, bumped into a very very drunk duke.

cant find my bus, need a lift home, life saver wee man.

bundled him in car and heade down the road,

had to stop for petrol at the station just south of perth.

came back out and brother said dukes away in the shop,

sat for 10 minutes, then went looking for him , no sign,

waited another 10, lapped the station, looked in the toilets, asked if anyone had seen him. nope.

    gave up went home.

    many months later, met duke.

w t f happened to you that night at tannadice ?

dont know what your talking about i was on the hibs bus, was never in your car.

  10. Off now, sober to bed, another hard day of graft in the garden beckons tomorrow.

    Good night and God bless.

    Hail Hail

  11. Palacio and StStivs

Must be same guy. I met him in Cumbria a few years ago. His boys were in Morecambe.

He was good to me, and in return I drove him to the Port a few times. As St Stivs said it was the Port Hibs I would drop him off and The Star Id pick him up at a couple of days later.

He told me a good few stories about the Port. “The Colours” for one.

But he was obviously keeping a low profile. Our visits to the Port were always short.

And as for few people drinking in the Hibs and the Star, should I have said I was from Paisley?? :)))

In case I did understand your post properly.

BBC did not lie in my opinion. They have shown one side of the story. They should show the context, tell more where the pictures were taken, when etc.

This is like going today along dark streets of London , do the filn and tell the world : don’t go to London to watch Olympic games. Question: Could people in Poland be enough scared and decide not going to London?

I hope BBC is going to show these parts of London to the whole world before the games start.

I’ll not go on. Auldheid, when you go up to recieve RTC’s Orwell Prize, we’ll all be way ye.

  27. And Im not sayin Auldheid is RTC. Far from it as Im sure both would want to say.

  28. So I’ve not posted in months, and suddenly the night-shift vanishes? Where’s Petec?

The Masons have goat him. MAGGIE, they’ve goat him!

  29. And just as a wee aside, I advocated, as others did, that Celtic could propose a much more equitable distribution of SPL prize monies.

I know we can look back at the television deal years ago and say that the other clubs fecked the TV rights. But lets look at where we are. Forget the bollocks about 4 ‘old-firm’ games. No such clause ever existed.

I don’t always agree with Paul67. I suppose that’s the beauty of CQN. But many months ago he said,

“Whatever part of my club is dependant on Rangers(IA) I am willing to give up.”

  30. C’mon. I’m used to talking to myself at home.
