IBROX ALL-CLEAR FOR CELTIC VISIT

PHILIPPE CLEMENT’S side have avoided having to face a trip to Dundee in the midweek four days before Celtic visit Ibrox on Sunday April 7.

The match against the Tayside club was postponed on Sunday because of ground conditions at Dens Park and April 3 was mentioned as a possible date for the rearranged Premiership meeting.

The Govan club’s wish to have a clear week to prepare for the third derby of the season has been realised with the game now scheduled for an 8pm kick-off on Wednesday April 10, three days after the match against Brendan Rodgers’ men, according to a report in The Scotsman.

THE WINNER IS ON THE WAY…Kyogo Furuhashi lines up an unstoppable right-foot shot for the points-clincher at Ibrox in September. John Souttar and Connor Goldson get a good view of the Celt’s finishing technique.

The Ibrox hierarchy were understandably keen to avoid the risk of injury before the match against their city neighbours who have beaten them twice in the two previous fixtures.

Kyogo Furuhashi got the winners on both occasions, 1-0 in Govan in September and 3-2 at Parkhead just before the turn of the year.

Celtic are back in action after the international break with a visit to West Lothian to take on Livingston a week on Sunday while Clement’s team face a home outing against Hibs 24 hours earlier.
