  1. Are we finally missing broonie this season? Can’t seem to finish any games well. Suppose Occam’s Razor would suggest it’s as straightforward as an awful injury crisis has meant we haven’t been able to practise, develop relationships etc

  2. Usual suspects piling on……. No surprise there. Take what your given and be thankful you get it now get to the back of the bus and keep your options to yourself.

I’ll give up my 30+ yrs STs cause we don’t invest properly, don’t take advantage our financial superiority and have shown little or no ambition or robust plan to improve our standing outside our own back yard. OK I get it now – I’m the problem🤯

  3. BRRB – Ya souside hooligan.

I will see you in Kerrydale on Saturday, text St Tams (Gerry) unless I get the big hook for the knee op.

    D. :)

  4. 3 points is all that matters at this stage.

Aye we could have done this or done that and believe me I have my own opinions but before the game I would have taken 3 points any which way.

We move on to Saturday and a horrible charlatan in divesmith another member of the secret society, pointy hat brigade, feckin 2024 ya cretins.

    The RRRRRRRRRAT

    D. :)

  5. Another 3 points,what’s not to like .

4 games to go 3 at home I would settle for that.

    Nearly there HH

Training going well, cheers for asking. Fly out 4 weeks tomorrow and start the following day. Advice at this stage is –

    1. Get a good pair of walking shoes. I’ve bought a pair of Merrell shoes but am doing it in spring/summer so different conditions in October when the Foundation are doing it.

    2. Get the shoes well used so you know they are right ones

    3. Sign up to some of the websites/ apps. I use Facebook groups, Camino Frances and Camino de Santiago as well as the Camino de Santiago Forum App. They give good advice on how to prepare, packing lists and the good and the bad that you may face.

Happy to pass on anything I can once I’ve done it. Carpe D, let me know how you are getting on and can meet up too if you wish. Am in East Kilbride but happy to travel

    Good luck!

Brilliant! Now we need a tune to go with it? 😳🤷🏼‍♂️😂😂😂

  8. !!Bada Bing!! on

“I said to the players after that James is one of the fathers of the success here over the last decade. What he’s given on and off the pitch is a real symbol of that. Humble and under-stated. But he has that immense quality, both his finishes, his first was absolutely brilliant, but every time he has the ball he can keep it, beat a man, come inside and make a pass. He’s fantastic and I’m really pleased for him.” ‘ Brendan Rodgers on James Forrest.

  9. Meant to add, Gene of this parish is also a Camino walker, am sure he will have some good advice too.

  10. Camino Chaps……………………

me an’ the missus were going to do Sarrai To Campostella Di Santiago end of June, but her Faither is not doing well so we’re staying close to home. this year.

I’d love to hear any of your experiences on this. Cheers

  11. I tuned into the wrong game these highlights have Celtic creating chances and scoring goals

Sorry to hear about your father in law, hope he gets better soon. Happy to share my experience of the Camino. Am walking from Leon to Santiago de Compostela, roughly 200 miles over 12 days.

  14. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

Fingers crossed Maeda can make a return on Saturday and JF can be moved over to the right.

Ideally the game needs to be won in 60 minutes before either of them is subbed.

Saturday is the only remaining game where we play before the huns. We need to make it count.

  15. AT – cheers, enjoy your walk. Never done Glencoe – are you local to EK and we could maybe catch up for a walk some day?

  16. We have played better and of course still seem to struggle to play for 100 minutes at full performance almost every game. We have had plenty of league run ins where this was the case.

Of course we would all love to have won by more today and put more pressure on our rivals but it’s a sport and 2 teams are entitled to try to win. Add onto the mix the ref and var combo and my conclusion is we are a game closer and a banana skin avoided.

Hopefully the home fans can actually support the team next week rather than who he and moan and transfer anxiety. If we get that support then with 3 home games to go we cannot lose it.

  17. Also great to see St Pauli in such a strong position thanks to a really good and tricky win on Friday. It really is theirs to throw away…..confirming promotion and ensuring rivals Hamburg have no chance next weekend would be sweet in the derby.

  18. Didn’t see game as I was working but all in all not a bad result considering Dundee held the greatest team in the league to a scoreless draw. :=)

  19. MissGFTB was through in Balloch waiting on her big cuz finishing the kilt walk …I textd her the team before kick off too let her know wee Jamesy was starting her reply

“about time dad, maybe Brendan has now realised why James F should be starting more”

Out of the mouths of children .. she was so correct

  20. glendalystonsils on

On a different topic , anyone know what’s happened to Bournesouprecipe? Haven’t noticed him on the blog for ages. Always enjoy his match reports .

  21. I was talking to a Sentinel Celt poster on Friday and he said this season reminded him of our Stop the Ten season which ended with goals by Henrik and Harald. That season too saw us capable of dropping points to minor teams just as the Lions lost to Dundee United during Lisbon season.

This team may not, ok is not, better than those Celtic squads but inconsistency has always been a problem as is losing to diddy teams. We are making it too much of a luxury but…….

We never ever had such a celebration as we did at the end of the 1966/67 season

Until we celebrated the 1997/98 season.

I was involved in, at least 4 , Stop the Traffic Huddles that day.

God knows if it will be a last day win this season but it is likely to be close to that- a memorable celebration for a hard won and close run league. We will put all our reservations and criticisms on hold to celebrate an important league win. A league victory that was close always sees a larger eruption of joy rather than coasting to the title over the final 10 weeks.

In June 2021 when we lost the Covid season league Sevco fans were predicting our club would be fecked for a decade. Many of our own fans agreed that we were, at least, 2 years away from being in condition win a league. And when Ange was appointed, many revised that 2 years upwards to 4 or more.

But we won the last 2 leagues with that man and then, against the odds, got a proven ELP coach to take over, albeit one who had “dumped” us hurriedly previously. That man CAN organise teams and, even with our poorly enriched squad, he was able to patch us up to remain unbeaten in 3 games against our biggest rivals. Brendan has not looked or sounded like himself for much of this season and we have not been a dominant Celtic in many games but…

Most of that will be quickly forgotten if we win this league, especially if we do the Double and further extinguish their hopes.

We will have many long summer months to agonise about whether this transfer window will be as poor as the last one seems to have been or whether players who were Development players, like Yang, Bernardo, Bernabei etc; can come good or are destined to remain duds like Haksabanovic Comperr, Boerigter and Amido Balde before them.

We should not be pining over the likes of Starfelt, Mooy and Abada. We can get as good as them next year. Jota was in a different class and was always bound to leave us quickly even though Saudis are wasting his talent. I hope Brendan gets good scouting advice to improve our record in that field this year. Brendan has not shown a great ability in the transfer market- he will need help and support.

Think BSR stopped posting after his good friend (eurochamps67) sadly passed away .. hopefully will return in his own time

  23. Yes,quite a few aspects of our game were off today, but its down to the nitty gritty, nerves of the players will be jangling.Tough venue, tough pitch, against a team with a lot to play for as well.Result is everything.

I hope Br starts Idah against Hearts. We are not clicking up front with Kyogo, for whatever reason.Jamesy ,what can you say.An unsung legend.

  24. Big Jimmy

    Re- the James Forrest Song

” He comes from Prestwick…and plays for the ” TIC

He’s at Prestwick Night Clubs flashing his ……….. credentials.

He’s not serenaded by Celtic fans lightly

But his Magic Mike show can be seen twice nightly

He used to Play Tennis and Love was his score

and he’s left Prestwick Lassies feeling awfully sore

From the Land of Rab Burns and John Walker’s Whisky

In scoring a double he can get quite frisky

He’s been with the Celts for near 20 years

And reduced many Huns to a puddle of tears”

  25. Now this is my opinion after watching the team playing this afternoon up in Dundee ,Is Johnson any better than Ralston I don’t think so,is Khan any better than Palma or Yang ,i don’t think so,Is Idah better than Oh i don’t think so,McGregor isn’t the same player this season ,Iwata first choice till the end of the season,Taylor can’t say I would like him to be dropped, no body to take his place ,Rodgers starting eleven this afternoon absolutely shocking.

  26. Mousey 17 ,

I have never been at the “Back of the Bus,”. Whats it like?Up at the front where I sit,its all Leagues, going for 12 from 13 this year,Trebles galore, plenty of Hunskelpings.Singing and dancing.Parties in Glasgow City Centre.

  27. We’re very close now. Forget the performances, forget about the cup. We’re two home wins from effectively winning the league. Full focus, Celtic.
