    I meant to add:-

What are you gonna do when/if we win this league? Are you gonna refuse to celebrate because we made it closer than it should have been? Will you go to the pub and rake over our transfer failings? Or will you be able to park it, for, at least, a day and celebrate with joy a hard won league? And will that joy be really just the same or less than an easily won league that was a foregone conclusion by February?

If you can’t, I think you would be a strange sort of supporter.

We have a whole summer, to pore over our failings and obsess about transfers we should or should not have made or will make. If only we could confine our transfer talk to the transfer window period when it counts, that would be a relief. But, we obsess about transfers all year round; we worship new bling and are hyper-critical of our own young players once they have had their honeymoon period of 2 or 3 games where we over-praise them (Daniel Kelly can look forward to being written off after his first bad game next season).

Isn’t it telling that we had to send Mikey J away to discover he’s less of a dud than we thought he was. And how do we cope with the Cognitive Dissonance of seeing James Forrest emerge as a valued player, after being savaged even more than Mikey was? Well, that one’s easily resolved- we just state- Isn’t it a terrible indictment of our current crop that a waster like James looks good in their company? God Forbid, we ever acknowledge that we were wrong about our ability to judge the value of a player like James or Mikey- the guys we ask to unlock defensive doors but are not permitted to make more than one mistake when doing so.

I intend to have a grand time when/if we win this league. I doubt those in my company will be giving any head room to transfer window analysts or Boardroom Power Struggle Insiders or Balance Sheet Obsessors. They will stick out like Derry Girls Uncle Callum at a rave.

    Hope to see you there.

Hi looking for some information re funeral this week in AYR. My elderly neighbour in YORK comes from AYR and would like to know the name of dead person.

    HAIL HAIL.

You are too hard on Liam. Yesterday he was a warrior and well worth our praise. He was certainly not involved in every defensive fiasco, and his distribution was more careful than it has been in the past 2 months even when he broke lines in advancing forward.

We all agree that Liam has had a tough spell recently and deserved to be dropped but we can acknowledge that yesterday was his best game in a long while and there were at least 10 in a Celtic jersey that we could criticise before we reached to consider Liam’s errors.

If you look at Jobo’s POTY votes- Liam has had a greta season in the round but it had been tailing off these past few months. But, over the season he has been up there with Matt O’Riley and CCV as our best performers, even when you take account of his recent drop off in form. He has served us well this year.

Which reminds me – still time to vote in the POTY

SENCELPOTY@gmail.com with your top 3 performers v Dundee- still have around 10 hours to vote

  4. unfortunate timing, trying to sneak out the back door by hiding behind the new cqn blog for today.

kyogo was playing tig with some stray border collie

idah had a card school behing the big lawnmower shed

looking at your name reminded me to look up wee Oscar Knox, would you believe it’s his 10th anniversary on the 8th of May, he was only 5 years old, where has the time gone?

    YNWA wee Oscar

It’s funny but as an 18 year old going on 19, I always looked upon Ronnie Simpson as an old man. He was 36 going on 37, exactly the same age as my son is now. They say a week is a long time in politics…and 57 years in the life of a Celtic supporter?

Who knows where the time goes?
