If you want to know why this clubs is special…

The Celtic Supporters Association Rally in the Kerrydale Suite last night was a complete joy.  On the way out I remarked that the club was in good hands with the Association.  This was their 64th annual rally, over generations they have protected and cultured the unique spirit of our football club.

For me, it was the third opportunity in a week to hear the Thai Tims, who performed an excellent set.  Paul Lennon of the Good Child Foundation is a real inspiration and example to us all.

It was also a great opportunity to spend a few hours with many from the CQN community, always a treat.  I know one CQN’er who is going to think twice before digging up Tom (“get your facts right”) Boyd on the blog again, just in case our former treble winning captain reads it and goes looking for him on a night out.

To continue the spirit of what we are all about, on Saturday 19th May there is a charity dinner in Glasgow for The Andrea Kearney Fund, which supports women who are diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy.  The fund in memory of Andrea, who was diagnosed while expecting her fifth child and died in 2008, aged 41.

It promises to be a great night for an important cause, I hope you can support it.  You can book tickets here.  I look forward to seeing you there.

You can buy a hard copy of the new issue of CQN Magazine via Magcloud here.

The graphic below is just for a flick through, to read the magazine go here to it’s dedicated site.

Mrs G just told me she is leaving me due to my plant obsession…

Jeez petal plant yourself down flower, where did all this stem from?

  2. celtic board vote no, that is all they can do, if they vote for newco then they have failed us all. celtic board can do no more than vote no. what can celtic do?, well celtic can get ride of all the deadwood in the squad and get 3 quality players in this summer to ensure any newco plays second fiddle for a long, long time to come. a couple of quality signings will raise hope and will help increase season ticket sales, hopefully it will see us enter the CL group stages as well.

celtic’s mega wealthy owner and shareholders can look to move celtic onto a new business level by competing the celtic triangle, museum, pubs, clubs, restaurants, hotel, casino and double our income, get fans excited, install hope and belief once again. celtic are a massive names in world football and across the globe, its time to use that to our advantage. celtic’s biggest failing is failing to recognise the potential of our club to grow, i for one am feed up of hearing about how we have maxed out our domestic income, that is bullsh*t.

we are the biggest club in scotland on the the possibly in the top 5 in the U.K and within the top 20 in world football and its about time our owner and board showed the determination required leave our challengers behind off the field.

Good to hear Alex T got back to you – I get the feeling he’s really enjoying himself now – his last report on C4 News was excellent

re the SFA and UEFA rules, I don’t think they have a problem.. they’ve got a solution… UEFA just say no, the SFA tell everyone they tried their best, but rules is rules.

Lets see if Sally and Sandy start this with Uefa – “We don’t want to intimidate anyone, but just give us the names, addresses, phone numbers and emails of all these people who made these rules, so that we can let them know how much we respect them, even though we dont agree with them”

”Why do you not take Paul up on his offer to ask the questions to the board. ?”

    1. I don’t think Paul67 has said anything about a member of the board. He may have implied it, but I don’t think he stated it. I only mention that so that he is not unjustly accused of over stating his own importance in the overall scheme of things.

    2. It’s a pointless exercise. No one in the know is going to tell me anything that needs to remain confidential. Anyone who thinks otherwise has a lower opinion than me of the people who run Celtic. If they think they can tell me anything privately that would set my mind at ease they can do so publicly to the entire support.

    3. It’s patronising, and, for the reason stated above, is not the way Celtic should do things. We are supposed to be an open and inclusive Club, not something akin to the Masons.

I’ve posted over the last couple of days about how the whole senario has had my emotions and head in a spin. I found myself doubting my convictions to Celtic were the huns to be readmitted and I considered what it would mean to me.

It took a wee Thai Bhoy to reaffirm what Celtic is all about and by God am I grateful. My decision is made, I will renew my season ticket and I will be at every away game next season.

  6. Hartlepool fans arrived at King’s Cross station in dat London to play Charlton. They then took the escalator down to the tube, a special away-day that they described as ‘Smurfs on tour’.

While we wait on the results of the FTT and the dual contract investigations, why should we not consider a massive spending spree for Neil Lennon?!

How’s about a £30M war chest for Lenny to have a serious go at the CL qualifiers and group stages?!

We can worry about the late tax payments down the line…..we do have precedent after all.

That’s fair enough. Your mind is closed and your choice is made. I watched the Thai Tims too. Nearly killed me getting there for 7.10. It was moving. It reminded me why integrity is so important. Bowing down in front of such corruption as is planned does then a grave disservice IMHO.

There is far more that can and should be done than simply voting no, shrugging and playing on.

Just saw your earlier posts about my views on Celtic suing over loss of earnings/corporate fraud etc due to the huns cheating.

I honestly dont think it would have a chance, too many ifs buts and maybes,

For instance despite what we may think the bloody huns might have won the league anyway (unlikely but very possible)

I just think people are putting unreasonable demands on the board.

Some of the people shouting loudest are the same ones who were on last year claiming that the Celtic Board were actually conspiring to let the huns win the league to keep them alive so that the celtic plc would gain financially (although losing champions league revenue ) through keeping the huns alive in the long term.

I thought that was a mad theory and I think suing the SPL etc because we lost leagues (that we may have conspired to lose) is also mad.

Hopefully there will be criminal fraud charges brought against those who ran Rangers corruptly and cheated the HMRC but we have no control over that so I wont worry about it

  22. Strange thing –

Was walkng down Buchanan street today and there was a street entertainer outside Fraser’s juggling fish, he looked a poor SOLE.

I said ” for COD’s sake you can’t stand in the middle of Buchanan street juggling fish”, but he just kept juggling, think he may have been hard of HERRING, or just SHELLFISH.

Then he started singing ‘SALMON chanted evening’ and all the shoppers started dancing, think they were doing the CONGER.

I used to be a SHARK at this but need to sign off now as I am obviously FLOUNDERing.

    Ching, Ching, Cheerio!!

  23. *THE KING VIC 67* on

Surely what we (ALL Celtic supporters) need is a meeting to discuss what we will do i.e bhoycott or not!

To even have a meeting is enough to show governing bodies we are serious about walking away!

Sporting integrity cannot be second to financial gain…

The Scottish game is and will continue to be a laughing stock if they get away with slinking their way back in.

Please Mr O’Rourke (CSA), P67, jeanette Finlay (CT), GB etc etc etc organise something before they act as they want to!
