If you want to know why this clubs is special…

The Celtic Supporters Association Rally in the Kerrydale Suite last night was a complete joy.  On the way out I remarked that the club was in good hands with the Association.  This was their 64th annual rally, over generations they have protected and cultured the unique spirit of our football club.

For me, it was the third opportunity in a week to hear the Thai Tims, who performed an excellent set.  Paul Lennon of the Good Child Foundation is a real inspiration and example to us all.

It was also a great opportunity to spend a few hours with many from the CQN community, always a treat.  I know one CQN’er who is going to think twice before digging up Tom (“get your facts right”) Boyd on the blog again, just in case our former treble winning captain reads it and goes looking for him on a night out.

To continue the spirit of what we are all about, on Saturday 19th May there is a charity dinner in Glasgow for The Andrea Kearney Fund, which supports women who are diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy.  The fund in memory of Andrea, who was diagnosed while expecting her fifth child and died in 2008, aged 41.

It promises to be a great night for an important cause, I hope you can support it.  You can book tickets here.  I look forward to seeing you there.

You can buy a hard copy of the new issue of CQN Magazine via Magcloud here.

The graphic below is just for a flick through, to read the magazine go here to it’s dedicated site.

Just found out my mate died, overdosed on indigestion medicine.

I can’t believe it – Gav is gone!!

Today I bought myself some sensible walking boots and a little rucksack and went up to the lake district, walked for about 5 miles stopped and sat on a stone wall and had a flask of coffee. Then I walked another 5 miles and had a biscuit and then I……….

    Sorry, i’m rambling

Could there ever have been such a joyous time to be a Celtic man ?

No matter which of the convoluted possibilites transpire,.. THEMS are Kaput..

I could not care less which of the scenarios ensues.

Thems are completely discredited & exposed.

I wish that I had the charity in me that my parents had instilled, but sadly I have become more like THEMS.

May they be given everything that they have earned.

I have a feeling he will replace Mancini

    ………..

No he will have a year out.

Then what job may be available??????

Mourinho will never manage Utd. Too boring.

How well has Paul Lambert done thus season?

  6. Whatever the outcome of hun or no hun, they have managed to do a good job on our support.

I reckon I will have to pin my hopes on the time factor, and that being they won’t have enough to get a team in the spl next season.

They won’t have a stadium if CW holds firm, they won’t have any players if their greed comes to the fore.

With any luck there will be more than dusty millar coming to the table, which would then split their support.

Here’s hoping the likes of AT and Hector have a say in the procedings.

We all see things differently. I watched the enthusiasm of the wee guy in the front row and it reminded me of our roots, our passion amd our world wide appeal.

I’m choosing to continue that support.

  8. lennon’s passion

I sent my legs out for a walk

but they wouldn’t, go without me

so l made the buggers sit.

Helps put the fire out mate, after the fighters retire. :-))

  11. We really need a statement from Aberdeen to ask the Spl if it is ok that for Aberdeen to pay no paye ni and then the next season go newco

All it will take is one mid table club with the guts to ask Spl the question and all this huns newco escape will go away

Last night, I dreamed the grim reaper came for me.

I was terrified…… but managed to beat him off with my vacuum cleaner………

A genuine question for those giving up season tickets. If another “Seville” event comes up, will you be there ?

  14. ST

I disagree they will simply say that the huns are needed more than Aberdeen et al.

  15. googybhoy

Aye Paul has done good this season, done good the last few seasons btw, very little money compared to his oposition, seems to have learned from MoN and the like.

Never know what’s around the corner, don’t know if I would like to see Pep at Utd, would rather see him at City, he will have his year out, and deserved.

Whatever happens to the Hun,(SPL or Division 3) they are going to be in a very weakened state.

At first I hoped they would be forced to start at the bottom (Div 3) but wouldnt it be fun to thrash them soundly for the next few years.

They have a long hard road to travel to get back to zero.

    Hail Hail

  20. Evening all. I’m watching this unfold with growing dismay and a realisation that the SPL is just a circus. I finally heard someone last week on Radio Scotland morning news compare Rangers situation to the banks (too big to fail) and it was apparent that arguments based on ethics, morality and justice were to be left to those with a lot of time on their hands. The “Glasgow press” (c) AT are now concentrating their efforts on channeling the debate into the cesspit of “economic expediency” v “outrage felt by Celtic fans and others”. Thus, our perspective is reduced to one based on historical old firm rivalry and not to be taken seriously.

Having been seriously caught out last time with our hero, the likes of King and Guidi are making sure they are being seen to question Miller’s motives this time round, but it’s posturing for its own sake and I’ve heard enough from various sources to conclude that newco Rangers in the SPL is a done deal. Vested interests in the Glasgow Media, SKY, the SPL clubs etc will ensure that this is the case, and it will be left up to fans to decide if they’re going to attend games.

Speaking for myself, I don’t think I could turn my back on Celtic that easily. You know what I mean – it’s a relationship that’s virtually encoded in my DNA, along with that of my 11 year old son who comes to games with me. Yet, is there really any point in attending games in a league that is evidently rigged. If Celtic had been found to have offended the way Rangers have, I would only be satisfied if Celtic tried to find a way of getting the SFL to accomodate them in Div 3 and from there doing everything they could to pay every last penny to everyone they owed.

Self imposed conditions of atonement, regardless of what everyone else in Scottish football felt, would be the only way I would ever feel able to hold my head up as a Celtic supporter. But Them – they’re not like that. If they go to the SFL it will be in order to damage other clubs. McCoist and that total @rse Jardine have said as much.

In conclusion, the only way I can see justice being served is if UEFA choose to become involved and stand up for integrity. However, their track record is appalling and it’s a forlorn hope.

  21. HT. my point is the whole of European football would become a farce if midtable clubs( 3 years ban from Europe means he haw to them) went and down this route

Hertz and hibs also should make a similar statement

It would also mean all tax authorities would want taxes paid in advance by all clubs
