I was initially surprised to hear we’re tracking a Jack-of-all-trades defensive midfielder-cum-central defender. Neil Lennon’s clear preference in central defence is Efe Ambrose and Virgil van Dijk, both of whom have been in excellent form this season, but he has backup in the form of Charlie Mulgrew, or even Mikael Lustig, who has played there before.
Defensive midfield, along with striker, is one of the key positions Celtic should be looking to strengthen; so a dedicated specialist would seem the better option, but our last outstanding specialist in that area arrived with exactly the same CV. I remember the disputes here when Neil Lennon talked about Victor Wanyama being able to play centre half. He could, but he didn’t.
It’s more important that we do our recon well than utilise everything in a player’s locker. Buying from England is usually expensive, but at least if affords you the opportunity to solicit plenty of reliable opinion on a player.

I saw Man U a few times in 73. The loss of Best and Law along with Charlton being finished, seemed to haunt Old Trafford. They couldnt deal with it until The Doc recharged the club, first by chasing the great Best and then signing a lot of exciting players for very little (Coppell etc).
The Doc let his ol libido get the better of him and he was soon off too, leaving the Scousers to dominate (77 final apart).
Dont let Man U watch any our right backs including young Darnel as they are a massive
improvement on Rafael.
I actually feel sorry for Moyes he has been left a shell of a team.
They are a mid table team at best without Van Persie & Rooney
If moyes gets time 7 or 8 of them wont be there.
Starry :)) sleep well my friend
Good night all
Left click …..
Feel sorry for a guy who knew exactly what he was getting into?
Nah…..not for me…..Ordinary manager not getting the best out of his players from what I can see.
Been a few years since I had to manage people but if I had bombed with the resources that Moyes has at his disposal then I would have expected the old tin tack, mate.
Ordinary manager with a job that’s too big for him.
The Onlooker, agree with you on that. The noise against Boavista was not quite a boo, but I remember turning and saying to my brother, “That’ll not help”. It was a strong disaffection noise, for which the English language does not have a word.
ryecatcher, it’s what Private Eye live on. Shining lights and all that, nothing more.

‘The struggle was over, the boys were defeated’
Sometimes I wonder what the fecking point is. Utter bull plop. Utter utter bull.
Us working people deserve all we get for our failure to stand up and be counted.
———–
i feel the same, often,
but are we in that cycle were the working people are so down trodden, that their majority dont fight just accept.
valentino was a bigger hero to the cinema classes than anything real on the screen.
the demonisation of the green brigade shames me, some youths want to make a statement big deal, that anyone here wants to beat them makes me sick,
the documentary on syria tonight, the children speaking, all poltical, beautiful kids,
their fathers are leaders, the kids witness the horrible war.
over here, its about the huns.
the bastards have been corrupt all their empire days,
forget about them,
lead a keltic life,
keep it lit.

Celticrollercoaster supports the Dambhoys
Ye mean doc done aw the work :))
As a wee taster of the badges, they are both a throw back to the past and a look ahead to our future!
And they will help to raise a bit of money for what we, as a community, do best.
A worthy charity will receive any profit we make from the badges.
Saint Sivs…..
Very like here, but on a far larger scale, the Western MSM peddle the dangerous and sinister lie on Syria that ‘one side is about as bad as the other’.
It is mind boggling how they get away with this.
It seems that Nik Anelka is bigger news than the genocide in Syria.
Leftclick, hehehe.
Not at all, teamwork!

Compared to tonight – I’ve seen better H/T pen shoot-outs at CP where; fat/ skinny/ hen-toed punters have had a go at a one of our young GKs in a ‘sponsors’ event!
Can anyone enlighten me.
If THEY are deid, why will we be playing THEM in eighteen months or perhaps even sooner?

I worked in stretford 2000 – 2002. Next to the cricket ground.
Manure fans used to park in our works car park and our night shift could not get access in.
I parked my car across the entrance one night.. blocking about 20 cars in.when they returned I refused to move my car. Most had southern accents and complained they had a 2 or 3 hr drive home
