Jockeying for FTT already done

735

Following RangersTaxCase’s information that Rangers-HMRC First Tier Tribunal report was in the hands of both parties’ solicitors on Friday, I subsequently heard the report runs to in excess of 300 pages.  It will be published by the court authorities in due course but I don’t expect anything this week.  Any attempt to spin or release excerpts from the report could be considered contempt so it is likely that we will hear nothing formally until then.

Once the report goes live you can expect an already-prepared summary with plenty of focus on what the FTT denied HMRC.  HMRC will not achieve a clean sweep, some matters were dealt with correctly, but there will be no surprises on these pages for the thrust of the findings.

I’m looking forward to an entertaining and final dose of bombast from one of the parties, hopefully in keeping with some of the all-time favourites from March 2000, “Rangers are moving on to another level from the rest of Scottish football”, “the Glasgow giants are setting an agenda that no other Scottish club can match”.

That famous article in The Herald asserts “The Ibrox chairman [Sir David Murray] has spent several months and many sleepless nights piecing together the plans which will eliminate Rangers”.

It does, of course, insert the word “debt” into the end of that sentence but sometimes fewer words paint a more accurate picture.  While we’re on a related subject, well done to Sports Direct FC for reaching the summit of the Third Division on goal difference.  That manager’s definitely worth keeping. Ashley’s money is being wisely spent.

That’s why they won’t be killed off.

Huns like the cardigan are waiting in the wings, they will get them for next to nothing when Chuck does a runner.

Then it will be back to the glory days, it really makes you want to puke.

I often find the best way to get rid of unsolicited calls / door steppers is to give them a wee bit back.

When the Mormons call , I give them a bit about being a born again Christian, or when someone calls asking if I have had an accident, I ask if they are interested in buying a time share. Normally they can’t get off the phone quick enough.

Works a treat, and appeals to my juvenile sense of humour.

I’ll check back later Bhoys. Cheers.

I’m usually immune to the MSM nonsense

But this world record nonsense is irritating the hell out of me …it’s nowhere near being close to a world record and 2 mins of research would inform them …..

They are deliberately reporting lies … Damned annoying

Radio Snyde tweeted something about said world record the other day, some of the replies were good, they admited they just tweeted what they were told.

Every single media outlet in scotland are a hun propeganda outlet, and they don’t care who knows it.

In all honesty, I’m really not too hopefull about the outcome and their demise, they have had the worst I believe, so it’s all systems go to get them back, and that includes the referees, that really makes me want to puke.

At least we have a wee restbite with the CL.

  10. ‘Twas the night before Christmas – thought I would fill-out my Team list with comments/ reasons for selection in brackets (need to do something to while away the hours till kick-off).

    GK: Fraser.

Back 4: Lustig (capable of scoring from set-pieces and because I don’t think Mathews is fit/ only back from injury & took a knock on Saturaday).

    – Wilson (pace & height).

    – Ambrose (pace/ height & a goal scoring threat at set-pieces).

    – Mulgrew (pace/ height & delivery at set-pieces).

= solid back 4 – height/ width who will be capable of defending on their own 18 yard line for the majority of the game & given the opportunity a goal threat.

Sweeper: Wanyama (playing in front of back 4 – big/ imposing – need to go round him – plugs holes & a goal scoring threat at set-pieces – hopefully will push threats wide).

Midfield: Brown (wide-right will track & harry – has discipline to double back if beaten & will surge forward given the opportunity).

    – Ledley (good positional sense & has good understanding of Mulgrew/ Izzy).

    – Izzy (has recovery pace to assist Mulgrew & provide an out-ball on the counter – semi-left winger role).

In-the-hole: Hooper (deeper role has suited him lately – doesn’t have sustained pace – needs to be closer to the midfield to get ball).

    Front & Left: Sammi (high-wide-and handsome – the rampaging out-balls – buy time/ relief – move the game up-field – force them to back-track & rebuild).

Subs: Miku maybe for Hooper (has good ball control – hold-up + knowledge of Spanish game – Watt too big a game for him) – Kayal/ Forrest (if Brown doesn’t last 90 minutes – depending on how game is going) – the rest would be straight swaps due to injury. Commons – think this game will be too fast for him – can’t see him offering 90 minutes of tracking-back/ passing his man on.

Result (who knows) – would settle for 2-1/ 3-1 loss and 2-0 win for us at CP – means we would win head-to-head!

But… I fear big Kelvin might not make it, he has a prob, don’t know what, and I doubt they will risk him.

I think Charlie has to play for his dead balls and corner delivery.

We will see, as I said before, don;t have a bad feeling about the game, as long as we give a good account of ourselfs, that will do for me.

  18. What is the Stars on

I have been lurking on some hun sites since the whole administration/liquidation/downfall started some months back and its amazing the amount of total denial that still goes exists among de peepil.

The SPL/SFA are corrupt fenian loving/rangers haters controlled by Lawell and his poodles are some of the more educated and enlightened claims that i have come across. One argument that I have seen used a few times is along the lines of “The SFA/SPL etc knew what we were doing but let us do it just so they could catch us out and take our titles”

    Totally mad stuff,

By the way if the fenian controlled SFA/SPL even try to take titles they will blow the lid off the whole corrupt organisation/country by reporting to FIFA how unfairly Rangers have been treated. Then of course they will take Lawell to court and sue him and then of course they will leave scottish football and go to England.

Think we will have to adopt a bit of the old siege-mentality – it’s how we can utilise those few opportunities to relieve the onslaught and probe their defence.

Would be happy to test their resolve in their half every 10 minutes or so – bit like the rugby – kicking for touch deep inside their 22!

  21. Big Georges Fan Club on

Think the pace of Georgeous George and Izzy down our left can cause them problems, particularly with Danny Alvez out of this game. The aim will be to use George as an out-ball to get one of his deadly crosses in to Hoops or, at the very least, to get corners so we can use the height advantage. Big high ball down the left onto George’s napper all night long for me, and twice on a Saturday.

It’s really been that way since the inception of Celtic.

We have had to fight for absolutly everything, the control has always been by the peepil.

And try as they do, they still can’t dominate us.

They cheat, they steal, they break the rules, they employ referees who give them every advantage possible, but still they can’t dominate us.

Sites like this are a godsend, sites like RTC took it to the wider world, but we are still up against the establishment and everything that they can hit us with.

As you say, we will just have to keep up the good fight.

  28. We do not need 7 players who exceed 6foot in stature when playing Barca.

I want Matthews and Izzy playing full backs instead of Lustig and Mulgrew because we need guys who can twist and turn when chasing the ball. God bless Charlie and his ball delivery skills but he hates a nippy forward attacking on the ground in a 1:1.

The much maligned zonal Marking seems to have reduced the potency of corner kicks as goal scoring opportunities.

Corners are a waste of time

    So my team is

    Forster

Matthews Ambrose (any other CB) Izzy

    Brown Kayal Wanyama Ledley Sammi

    Hooper

  29. praecepta

Ball retention is the most important thing we must concentrate on.

Give the ball away on the cheap they will murder us.

I really don’t want to see us sitting back and trying to defend, better teams than us have been put to the sword trying that.

    Play our own game.

I understand they will have most of the ball, but when they allow us a wee shot, we have to use it, not hoof it up the park.

They are weaker at the back than they have ever been in the past couple of seasons, we must use this to our advantage.

they have no central defenders, they have quality there, but if we run at them, we can cause them bother.

Imagine telling your kids and grandkids you were there when Celtic beat Barca at the Camp Nou, must be time to go and dream :>)))))
