We have the makings of a really good team. The SPL is killing us.
We need to build our lads up physically.
We have to control possession.
If Juvé win, it is because of our mistakes !!

Oh, and Davie Provan… a disgrace.
This is a guy who bigs up the debt monsters of the EPL at every opportunity, but cannot wait to jump down our players’ throats at the slightest mistake against a very very good team.
Bhoys I think Juve haven’t got out of 2nd gear yet and look to be playing well within themselves. We are looking good in bits but too many individual errors are hurting us. As many have mentioned make a mistake at this level you get punished. We have lost 3 goals, so far, in the Juve games because of stupid mistakes.
Lets go for it 2nd half nothing to lose.

Juve are a class apart from us ….they look like they can score every time they have the ball
Our final ball is poor , Commons anonymous ..Hooper plain awful …hardly kicked a ball since the Jan transfer window farrago
Other doing ok …Izzy continues to mix real graft and endeavour with poor positional play and woeful crossing
Juve’s defending impresses me no frills safety first every time..
I thought we were playing well when they scored but that’s the price you pay against quality opposition, too many positives from this season to be depressed about this ending..
oglach when Juve step it up our players lose their composure. The Juve players know it.

Can’t believe we won’t notch a goal against them in two ties. Chances aplenty in both games.

Somebody remind me is this not the last 16 of champions league and have Juve not spent tens of millions on that squad ! Ah a forgot no sporting advantage then ! Just remember Jose , ” Celtic ! Celtic are Celtic !
Frustrated is word that frustrates me. Too many standing off and playing at an spl level.
No name calling but we are better than this. Saying that, that maybe also.

We’ve showed up really well against a great team. That said, they’ve allowed us a degree of possessin and we’ve not done enough with it. How many crossses has Issy had? But our attacks don’t have enough speed, so all our players are tightly marked when the crosses come in. They need to be inch perfect and they haven’t been. We need to mix up what we doo with possession 2nd half – I’d like to see Issy and Matthews cutting in and having a shot
Nothing has changed we still need 4 goals to win outright………
Enjoying it so far. Hope we keep our shape and don’t get tanked ……

Izzy’s crossing is woeful. Almost every time it’s blootered high into the air…
This has been a problem for some time, if Izzy is going to continue to play on the wing, we need to work on this area of his game.

Hooper just not sharp enough and it has cost us twice. He lost the ball, they score, and then just a spilt second off the play as he fails to convert Sammi’s cross

All about taking the chances!!
Keep it tight second half and maybe will come out with a credible draw.
Against a right good European team we once again dominate long spells of the first half.
More of the same in the second and I’ll be happy.

Tonight confirms that we have the foundation of a good side that will go further in next year’s CL, if we can hold on to VW.
A swap of Hooper for Rooney would give us a much better goal threat ;-)

They are a really physically strong side. At almost all tackles and close proximity situations Juve come away with the ball. Technically they seem to be able their opponent to be on thw ‘wrong’ side – a great attribute to have.
I wonder if Juve are happy for Izzy to have the ball wide – his crosses have been v poor. They are not giving the excellent Mathews as much space. Maybe though Celtic are failling to mix it up by going down the right a bit more often. (I wish Izzy would try now and again to go past his man it might catch them out as they obviously dont expect him to try it!)
Think the game is very like the first game. After all Juve can play this game as if it is an away match & Celtic need to press.
Some very competent performances though, except for some careless giving up of possession.
Hoops will have nightmares about giving up possession and then not just bringing the guy down. Wouldn’t throw too much flack at FF though.
Think Adam, Joe, Vic have been best with Beram, Charlie & Sammi pretty good.

notthebus, yes, according to Sky those stats show we are “edging it” for possession…

Don’t think Hoops did much wrong at the missed chance.
Sammi made a great break but his cross ball was more forward than square, and was hit at great pace.
The gamble Neil will make is to get Vic’s shooting power further forward replacing Kayal or Charlie. That will mean a rehabilitation for Efe maybe.
Just noticed how much Ray Wilkins looks like uncle Fester.
Kelvin cannot pull up at speed and therefore cannot turn.
Well we need 4 before a ball was kicked, now we need 4 in the second half.
Why not!

3 of our own making
Lesson for next season CL
Don’t lose silly possession in middle of field to box. At this level it cost you goals.

Agree but I’m not name calling. My tin hat is at the blacksmiths
Neil looks smart in his suit. Dark scarf too – nice Italianate touch.
Mathews skins his man gets him booked, never attempts to take him on again, why?
Commons very poor and also looks non committed, not what is required.
Why does Izzy not hit the bye line before putting the cross in, giving people the chance to attack it, rather than balls back to front.
When you need an inspirational Captain, is Sammi it, does he have the drive and inspiration to motivate a team.
Victor wasted at centre half.
Frustrating x100
