Killie prove you can get at this Rangers team

977

I watched Kilmarnock previous home game against Inverness, as shambolic a defensive performance as I have seen in the SPL.  Shipping six goals against the team who were, and remain, bottom of the league is the kind of result that can decimate team morale, but St Johnstone’s result at Ibrox last week offered some encouragement that you can get at this this Rangers team.

It’s worth pointing out a few things.  Rangers are still four points clear at the top of the league, if we were in that position we would rightly be delighted and confident.  Pascali’s goal for Kilmarnock was also only their second goal conceded in eight SPL away games and only their seventh overall in 16 games – getting on for half a season.  By comparison, Celtic have conceded 14 goals, including three at Kilmarnock.

While that defensive record is commendable, the loss of Steven Naismith leaves them disproportionately dependent on Nikica Jelavic to maintain their goal-scoring threat, and Jelavic is not known for season-long durability.

When news came through that Sone Aluko had paid his transfer fee to become a Rangers player few of us expected him to make as quick an impact on the league table as he has, single-handedly playing three Kilmarnock players onside at the goal.  This is an unfortunate start to the player’s Rangers career but Rangers fans have a reputation for scapegoating (among other things).  For some, Aluko’s card is marked.  He’ll need a lot of talent to recover from this one.

Very true, but enough about Sami, what about Dylan’s goal???? :-)

Aye it is magic, we will have to listen to them telling us he is from the Murray Park tractor belt of talent though. Don’t know if I can stomach that every week. He looks a bit lightweight. Will keep my judgement until he is up against spomebody like big Kyle Bartley, then we will see if he is a player or not

I can remember quite a few point winning saves from the hun, can’t remember many at all from big FF.

If you asked who I would rather have playing, it would be FF, he seems a decent big bloke and is improving all the time. no point commenting any further on amcg

Dylan was with Celtic until he was 14 I believe he’s now 17. That hardly makes him a Murray Park product.

BTW can I have a big mac and fries please?

the biggest laugh my brother gets in life is his belief that I’m a dead ringer for certain Hun…worryingly a few others have mentioned it…I’m ignoring it though!

Eeeoouuch. Playing the Granny card to block off awkward questions, whilst ignoring the easy option of proving your bona fides with a wee trip down to the local CSC?

What’s a bhoy to think? I’m a betting man now and again. If you actually meet up with MWD on the 28th and pass muster, then I donate 20 squid to a charity of your choosing…if you fail to show, or fail to hide the azure tones on your gleaming proboscis, you do likewise.

    How’s that sound?

Declan…when did Kyle Bartley become the barometer of what is and what is not a decent player? What a truly ridiculous post.

The news about Garry Speed is just shocking. Most of us come across the effects of depression at some point. It may be ourselves, family members or work colleagues. I have experienced depression within my family and I know the impact it has on all those involved. My experience has opened my mind to this illness and I have become a regular confidante of work colleagues. You just do not “pick yourself up”, “get a grip” or “snap out of it”. The sooner this illness is accepted the same as any other illness, then the better. It’s up to all of us. I believe we all suffer from mental illness but just to varying degrees.

Well, has super sally’s bubble burst? At he start of the day he was going for an away win record of some sorts but he must have finished the day with some sort of points lost in eight days record.
