  1. IMO..

KC had a very poor attitude at the start of RDs reign. He thought he was the star (he was lol) but that does not excuse him. Some very poor performances.

I hope Ronny’s plan was to get KC fired up, determined to work hard and to be fitter. I suspect something similar applied to Liam too.

Seemed to me both players were really up for it tonight working hard and impressing, being strong and getting close to their A game.

I may be giving more credit to RD than he deserves, I don’t know, but these two players may be better as a result of being held back and having to work themselves back into the team…on Ronny’s terms.

PS..well done Izzy, Adam, SJ, Broonie and NIR too!

  2. I think RD may change his ambivalent attitude towards KC after tonights performance and put the required pressure on PL to make him stay.KC definatly more suited to domestic game as opposed to european matches

  3. Commons and Henderson have earned the right to play the next game at least.

JJ- VVD cruised the game IMO

  4. the long wait is over on

    Jerome67

Correct on Scepovic. Glad for all sorts of reasons that he scored but was our weakest player by some distance.

  5. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

    Goodnight Timland.

As were still second in the league I’m still on

    DEFCON 4.

  6. Would RD have chosen to exclude Lubo if he were here at this time

Not comparing KC and Lubo totally but both were / are creative and important to their respective teams

Many an older head written off a past it has played vital roles for teams down the years, to allow him to walk only to be replaced by another project would be total neglect only thing is it probably is not RD’s call

  7. Going by KCs response to contract question,If you want 2 year deal ,you,ll no be getting much more than 1 years pay.,is what he has been told.Hence I have a rent to pay, quote.

  8. Tim Malone Will Tell on

Great result to instill a bit of confidence before the break.

At the risk of stating the obvious, can’t see why anyone can get agitated that we have a challenger. All it takes is for one other team to be a wee bit better than the rest and its “game on” – nothing we can do to stop that happening.

It’s a while since I was nervously checking out latest scores in January with that curious mixture of excitement and dread while you’re waiting for the web page to refresh with the latest score. That can’t be a bad thing can it?

    Just up for work,checked score.

    Magic!

Off on yer holibobs, lads. Enjoy, and come back fired up.

Delighted at the line-up too, btw. Imaginative.

  10. Looks like what Ronnie needs to achieve his ambition, is ………..more plastic pitches. That was a vg display tonight.

Scott Brown is playing well. Commons showed his value. Virgil is class. Craig Gordon is quality. Henderson very promising.

Guidetti looked good on his introduction.

The bones of a decent side. Get Commons a deal Ronnie and you might just keep yer job.

  11. Commons was terrific tonight, I really don’t want to see him go, but……

The same reactionary over the top comments that follow drop points also follow a good performance, we were every bit as good against Motherwell, St.Mirren and Dundee Utd when Commons didn’t play, as we were tonight.

    From twitter, Celtic this season:

    When Commons starts W5 D1 L2

    When Commons doesn’t start W8 D2 L1.

Henderson, Johansen, Bitton and Izzy were every bit as good tonight.

Terrific football, particularly 1st half, well done RD.

S is a country with fantastic potential – but populated by F@@kwits. If you have been to the sub-continent and know and like the mindset you will be fine.

Amazing countryside, nature, beaches, great surf. Good Elephant reserves, whale-watching, turtle centres.

Dreadful roads, food + accommodation is way overpriced for what you get. If you go, target a location where you do not need to travel, as it takes hours getting very short distances + dont even think about hiring a car.

Dont stay in or near Columbo. Remember that 50km can be a 5 hour drive. Dont go there thinking you’re going on the pull, unless you like 50 year old Russians or Germans. Be prepared for a country with no night-life. Once it gets dark (at 6:00) thats it for the day.

Save yourself some cash and stay at home. That whole text is just copied and pasted from the visitscotland website. The elephants are just along the road from me at Blair Drummond!

Johansen man of the match….good god ???

As for Scepovic, glad to see him score but generally he was poor and surprisingly so in the air.

    =============================

Scepovic’s movement in the box is top quality. The service to him is anything but. Play him, feed him, he’ll score. A born penalty-box striker. What we need.

    TWISTS

Parachuted in from Sports Direct by Ashley.

Seems he doesn’t do walking away either. Game on!

  15. Colour Blind Bhoy – Dubaibhoy’s assessment of SL made me smile. Your not going to read that in the brochures. What does he have against 50 year old Russian and German chicks? :)

I’m going there on a work trip followed by a few days holiday. The work part is based in Columbia and then I am heading inland to Kandy. Basically a lot of stuff he recommends not to do :) The good part is that I now know what to expect. The other good part is that it is likely to be 100deg warmer than it is here.

  16. Thought Brown may have found his perfect position tonight as he moves forward in years we just need to find someone in middle who will carryout the 50/50 challenges.

  17. Tim Malone

    I agree

I roar i let out when Izzy scored is the loudest ive made since 2012

  18. BMCUW

Yeah, so I believe. Ashley will go I believe, but only when he has negotiated a crippling deal to bleed them dry for a very long time. As John Broon asked ” whose name is on the deeds?”

If it’s now Ashley’s, then he still holds all the aces.

    Interesting weeks ahead….

  19. Genuine thought for you. If we’re going to keep bombing our fullbacks on kamikazi style ( lost count of the times they were furthest forward other than SS) why not just play two real wingers who can criss a ball and ask them to do a token run back now and again ? ?

  21. Good performance tonight. Really hope Commons gets his 2 year contract, he is our most creative player by a mile. Not really impressed by Scepovic yet, but give him more time. But were we really much better tonight than the games against Dundee Utd and Ross Co. ??

Ah podolski played for arsenal in CL !

We should take inter no problem ;)

  23. Daily Record website (I know, I know) saying tonight was Izzy’s first goal in four years. I mean, do they not check? Do they just burp and print whatever noise comes out?

Serves me right for looking at their website.

Just a reminder if you have not registered yet that this Saturday is the start of a brand new Last Man Standing competition – LMS3.

The cost to enter is £10 and the payout is 50% to the last man (or woman) standing, Based on current entries to date, the payout to the winner is currently standing in excess of £300. The remaining 50% will be donated towards supporting the necessary treatment required for Wee Shay McGinley, a very worthy cause.

Question is, with just over 60 registered to date, will you be no 67?

So here is how it works, really simple:

    1. Each week we’ll issue an email with the forthcoming set of fixtures to choose from. In general this will consist of the SPFL top flight games and the matches involving the top 4 in England. But there may be the odd occasion when this changes, particularly on cup and/or international weekends.

    2. Each week you choose just one team and provided that team wins then you are still standing and through to the next week.

    3. Once you have chosen a particular team you cannot choose them again

    4. If your team fails to win then you fall out of the competition – with the exception of the first 3 rounds where you have the option of paying your way back in with a further £10 donation [you can do this if you are unsuccessful in weeks 1, 2 or 3 and can do so more than once – this is, after all primarily about raising funds;-) ].

    5. It is your own responsibility to keep a record of which teams you have already chosen. However, if you need to check then just email us with sufficient notice and we’ll help you out.

    6. You must send in your selection before your team’s particular game kicks off. So watch out for Saturday lunchtime or Friday evening fixtures.

    7. The Last Man( or Woman) Standing takes the complete payout pot!

    8. To register, email us at cqnpredictor@gmail.com before it all kicks off on Saturday!

Fully agree. As well as we have moved the ball around for some time. Our players ( mostly) looked comfortable on the ball.

6 wouldn’t have flattered us tonight. Killie were rank, and Hammill never changes. Ian Black mark 2.

    Well played Ronny-D

You dropped Guidetti and got Commons playing to his true potential.

Plus, introduced Liam Henderson at just the right time.

In Ronny we trust ~ he will deliver!

  28. No one can doubt Kris’s ability, nor can they claim that he was on fire prior to getting dropped. He has shown by his attitude tonight what a good pro he is. He is currently our most creative player. I don’t know what a 2 year deal would cost the club, but I feel Kris’s has earned it much more than some of our recent signings who don’t even make the bench.

I like Kris, I like his partner, I think they both get Celtic. I hope they stick around.
