Mats N – Respect. The first four words of your second paragraph sum up the football authorities to a tee.

    “They have had meetings”.

Bureaucrats have meetings. Leaders deliver outcomes.

The SFA and SPFL are full of bureaucrats.

The Celtic hierarchy is full of leaders.

    Sit back and enjoy.

    Hail hail

Many thanks for this. Please ensure that Carling is served and that WiFi is provided by NTL as I would like to have constant subtle reminders of the cheating years.

  4. The comments from Topping are depressing on so many levels.

    1. Do serious professional people really talk like this? “We didn’t go to a lawyer in Arbroath”. Seriously? This is how you communicate with paying customers? By being flippant, insulting and patronising?

    2. There is no sense that the SPFL/SFA have grappled with the moral conundrum thrown up by the Supreme Court. No agonising over how to do the right thing: instead you suspect all their energy has been focused on how they can ride this out. The stitch up is real – and it must be defended no matter what.

    3. The colossal failure of the media in Scotland to challenge this cheating is staggering. With the possible exceptions of Graeme Spiers and (when he can be bothered) Tom English, I don’t think there is a single sports journalist worthy of the name in this country. In England, this would be headline news – prompting comment, analysis and criticism well beyond the sports pages. In Scotland, it is ignored. Remember this sorry episode the next time someone tells you how progressive, fair-minded and leftwing Scotland is.

    4. Finally, Celtic’s position should be clear: we want this reviewed asap and if it isn’t we go for judicial review or to FIFA. Will we..?

Good chance of success, then, as the ref clearly mistook LG for a player who hadn’t had a bottle chucked at him!

  6. I am not biting at the Topping statement.Nor should anyone else, apart from the more rabid Board haters among us,you know who you are, until the official verdict is known from the SPFL.What is the point?.We have a clown who has never uttered a word in his time, now getting in his bit before walking away.Plenty of time to “Go to town”when the SPFL tell us officially what the outcome will be.

On last night,I was delighted with the performance.Broony was sensational, ably backed by SA and Rogic.Jamesy blew hot and cold, the cold bits when he should have taken on the defender more, but played well.Hayes also played very well when he came on.As I have said many times,we have a problem at CH.Jozo,no problem, better in the air than recently, and on the ground.Eric,I hate to say, looks a weak link.

Some beautiful flicks from Dembele. We will get better.

  7. Nice to see Griffiths reminding them of the 5-1 game last season and how hospitable of them to offer him a wee sip of bucky to celebrate same.

  8. BSR @ 11.26am

Surprised to see your post on SA.

I might be mistaken but I was sure you said something the other day about posters opining on players contractual situations was a waste of time or words to that effect

  9. . Do serious professional people really talk like this? “We didn’t go to a lawyer in Arbroath,

I bet Craig Whyte and Paul Ferris are glad they went to a lawyer from Cowdenbeath.

So Topping is suggesting that the huns can have their cake and eat it eh, thats a trifle disrespectful.

Well for me Topping hasn’t covered everything has he, so just treat his musings with the frosty reception that it deserves.

    Morning Celts

Its hard to believe that rockets like Ralph Topping can tell Scottish Football to move on.

That isnt a football association, its a Masonic Lodge.

Back when this started, i removed myself from the cheating Scoddish Fitba environment.

I dont expect to return anytime soon.

I can only speak for myself, but if its the Ludge that is running football in this country, i want nothing whatsoever to do with it.

    It stinks like rotting fish.

Why the feck do we collectively put up with this?

    Its pathetic.

I was at that game where JD got sent off. In the Ayr end, courtesy of my Uncle Billy, lifelong Honest Man and ST holder.

His pals were in stitches, could not believe it. Nor could I,of course.

JD’s form at the time wasn’t the best. One wag commented-when Johnny was playing for us,he could have done that deliberately. No’ the day,he couldnae.

    Which was true…

The huns cheat, you stop going to watch the team you love, the club lose your money.

Sorry,I don’t see how that works as a means to the result you want, which is the huns punished.

Don’t get me wrong,I know why you do it,but I genuinely don’t understand it.

    ===========================================

    That caused the problem.

The poor wee demented gullibillies didn’t know which 5-1 Sparky was referring to, hence their confusion and chucking toys out the pram; in their case, buckie.

Good shout, ( a man that reads my posts )

However, there was a significant direct Brendan Rodgers quote since I posted that, which

suggests there was indeed an impasse with SA, he said “The agent needs to come forward”

The midfield is bristling with internationals and SA has a big decision to make if he wants to stay in BR’s plans otherwise he might not get a starting slot, which could affect him and how much his agent thinks he can get elsewhere?

Its all the internet but I reckon he’ll sign for us before the window closes as suitors cannot be manufactured by SMSM or agents, not even SA is that good.

It works like this. I dont pay to watch cheating, im happy with that.

If there is not a man amongst the PLC willing or able to challenge this blatant cheating, what is the point.

Maybe if a few more took my attitude, we might get somewhere.

Paying to watch Celtic cheated, not for me. I can watch Celtic being cheated on TV for nothing.

If Peter Lawwell doesnt care about Celtic getting shafted, why should anyone else?

Grown men fretting or even just opining about SA and the general alleged Celtic ’delays’ in signing players, is a pure waste of time IMHO.

    BOURNESOUPRECIPE on 15TH JULY 2017 11:26 AM

Stuart Armstrong’s a classy player but I do hope he’s not going to try and run down his contract.

Two barren seasons till BR finally extracted some of his potential, and playing for Celtic should be his aim, with nothing in the background that could affect his newly found form.

Agents can be a curse on Celtic and every other club and BR might use the other players in his squad as a bargaining tool for the fully committed to ten.

That said I fully expect SA to resign for Celtic by August.

  27. If this legal eagle whiz kid lawyer the SPFL and SFA have is that good why didn’t the Huns use him to go head to head with HMRC ? Because like the ones they had he also would have got his .rse kicked.

    JF on Topping…

    ======================

James is spot on. What the SPFL and SFA appear to be saying is either it is legal to cheat (if that is what their QC’s said) or its illegal to cheat but there is SFA you can do about it.

If either is so, why have either parties in a position of governance? What purpose do they serve?

However the real story and James has nailed it, is that this is not about protecting Scottish football, this is about protecting themselves, and to do that they are prepared to sacrifice Scottish football to a lingering death unless the club poisoning the game die of their own toxicity first.

The fix was in from the moment CW told Ogilvie and company Rangers were heading for the rocks and any enquiry would reveal that fix.

All the evidence of skulduggery is now on line. CQN Magazine published the WTC Timeline which shows a linkage between the UEFA Licensing in 2011 and the LNS Commissioning in 2012.

If the SFA did not have the 20th May 2011 HMRC letter in 2011 then Rangers FC failed to comply with UEFA FFP. If the SFA did have it at any time up to March 2012 (and The Tax Justice Network/Offshore Game have asked the SFA if they do

    http://www.theoffshoregame.net/sfa-admits-it-did-know-about-rangers-unlawful-tax-avoidance-scheme-at-time-of-nimmo-smith-inquiry/

but if you read the TOG report you will see that the SFA failed to provide any response to TOG questions.

So what we have here are a group of people who hatched what was a cunning plan to save Rangers because of the financial cost to Scottish football, but had to lie in the process. Had the SFA and then SPL done their registration jobs properly in the first place dishonesty would never have got past the start gate and further dishonesty would not have been needed to cover up the original sin.
