Miku, Lassad and Ambrose need to stretch legs

842

If you are going to Celtic Park tomorrow you will see a lot of photos like the one above.  Outside the ground 200 bucketeers will be collecting to raise money to send Oscar Knox for treatment for neauroblastoma.

Be prepared.  Bring spare cash with you, have it ready and do your bit for Oscar.

For the second week in a row we take on the team at the bottom of the table; see how that worked out last week.  After an awful August which saw Dundee’s return to the SPL marked with one point and no goals scored from four games, they picked up three points at Tynecastle before losing a lead late in the game against Motherwell last weekend.  Manager Barry Smith will have watched how St Johnstone went about their business six days ago and will believe his team can nick something at Celtic Park.

Neil Lennon (and some of us) will welcome the drop in intensity from Wednesday’s Champions League tie as Celtic are likely to give game time to those who joined the club three weeks ago.  Miku, Lassad and Ambrose all need to stretch their legs.

Big shout again for the guys raising money for Celtic Youth Development through TicPick.  It’s £1 to enter and you win £1000 for predicting 10 results.  I’ve gone for Celtic to beat Dundee, West Ham to beat Sunderland, Aberdeen and Motherwell to draw, Man City to beat Arsenal, St Mirren to beat Killie, Dundee United to beat Hearts, Man Utd to beat Liverpool, Hibs to beat Inverness, Chelsea to beat Stoke and Spurs to beat QPR.

  6. I think the point which everyone fails to pick up on is that the SFA/SPL deal to assist Sevco into Div 1 was an attempt to do a cushy deal to minimise the fallout from RFCia’s dodgy behaviour.

If they agreed to do the deal, the SFA/SPL could announce that they had investigated the case and punished RFCia for the offence, all done and dusted with almost sod-all punishment. Not only that, they could quite comfortably cover up the SFA’s role into the bargain.

CG should have agreed to the deal. It was a helluvalot better than the punishment they are due to get AND no, I don’t mean stripping of titles.

Stripping of titles is just the direct result of having played unregistered players. The punishment comes after that.

Lord Nimmo’s declaration that in his opinion, the club and business are separate entities may satisfy RFCia fans that Sevco Rangers is still the same club might seem like good news for them. However, it was the club who failed to register the players and thus the club must carry the fallout from it.

Sevco Rangers are therefore fully responsible for behaviour of RFCia – they are after all, according to Lord Nimmo, one and the same entity.

Now, if the punishment for CWs actions is only 1 step away from match fixing, what is SDM’s running of RFCia worth?

    Expulsion anyone?

I would say that stripping of titles is the least of their worries.

October is going to be a long, long month for Sevco fans.

  7. Laudrup quickly realising that Ki is a very poor defensive midfielder.

He is a poor tackler and slows any forward momentum.

Got himself booked for clumsy late tackle.

Once Swansea went 2 down he was pushed forward and started to look like a player.

One good shot narrowly past the post and a great diagonal pass that should have led to a goal plus nice give abd go into box..

Maybe Laudrup can make this skilled guy into an effective footballer?

  8. My mate Tony just gave me a call, this is the team line-up for today.

Celtic starting XI to play Dundee: Forster; Matthews, Wilson, Mulgrew, Izaguirre; Forrest, Brown, Wanyama, Commons; Lassad, Hooper (MH)

    Team looks good to me.

    Off to the game.

    Hail Hail young Oscar

  12. Great to hear one of our very best posters getting a good namecheck by S Cosgrove. I have to say he is emerging as credible and balanced a fellow as Jim Spence in all of this and a different level from anything else on the radio or written media in capability.

  13. Best of luck to the bucketeers today…fill em’ up.

Toronto Gaels day in the club so a sore head is expected tomorrow – especially when the Sam MaGuire ends up in Donegal – best to get the rolls and square sliced today.

Good luck to Torontony and the golfers at the TOCSC outing today – the club should be buzzin’ on your return.

Big Rab back at parkhead….I prefer to remember his save at Anfield :)

    5 – 0 to the Bhoys.

Bottle of Eldorado to be raffled today for the wee Oscar fund….There is a red hot favourite for the prize and is only allowed to bid if he takes the bottle home wi him:)

Hail Hail to everyone in Timland.

  14. thought Ki looked as good as any Swansea player today, but he got moved to centre back after an hour???

Either Swansea are going down or Everton are top 4 material, I would bet it`s the former.

  15. Ki was pretty decent, some good passing some very good shooting from distance then moved to centre half for some bizarre reason. Ki is not a defender.
