LOAN defender Moritz Jenz is heading for the Celtic exit – as CQN warned SIX weeks ago after Ange Postecoglou had brought in Yuki Kobayashi.
The towering German signed a season-long deal from Lorient in the summer, but it is now going to be cut short.
Twenty-three-year-old Jenz has dropped down the pecking order, but has not started a game since the domestic campaign restarted following the World Cup Finals in Qatar.
CHEERS…Matt O’Riley leads the celebrations after Moritz Jenz’s goal in the 5-0 win against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in August. Filipe Jota, Kyogo Furuhashi and Cameron Carter-Vickers join in.
The left-sided back-four operator was not involved in the squad for the 4-0 league win over St Mirren last midweek or the 5-0 Scottish Cup triumph over Championship side Morton on Saturday.
There was an option to buy in the temporary deal, but it looks as though Postecoglou is pinning his faith on 22-year-old former J-League star Kobayashi, who has started the last two outings, and Sweden international Carl Starfelt, one of his first buys at £4.2million from Rubin Kazan in July 2021.
Jenz made 19 appearances for the champions and netted with a soaring header on his debut in the 3-1 victory over Ross County in Dingwall in August.
CRUNCH…Yosuke Ideguchi in a rare first-team appearance against Sydney FC in Australia during the Premiership break in November.
A week later at Rugby Park, he staged an action replay in the 5-0 win over Kilmarnock.
The former Fulham prospect will now head back to his Ligue 1 side, but it appears he will not be there for long with German clubs interested in him, according to a report in the Daily Record.
Koybashi agreed a long-term deal to team up once again with his former Vissel Kobe team-mate Kyogo Furuhashi at the champions.
As well as Jenz, Yosuke Ideguchi is poised to end his association with the Parkhead club after failing to make an impact after arriving along with Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda in January last year.
