Mulgrew call signals primacy ahead of Efe and Dedryck

612

With the arrival of Dedryck Boyata, Jozo Simunovic and Erki Sviatchenko over the last 12 months, Charlie Mulgrew must have wondered if he would be offered a new contract which his current deal expires next month. Especially so considering how little football he’s played in recent years.

An incoming manager would be excused for looking at his squad and thinking Charlie was surplus to requirements, but, as we have touched on in recent weeks, the story of Celtic’s defence is more complicated.

Erik has been an unqualified success, but Jozo missed most of the season through injury, while Dedryck and Efe Ambrose suffered unfortunate (cough) spells of form. Charlie is a few years past his Player of the Year prime, but he’s a reliable consistent defender, who I’d have in the team before Efe or (Euros bound) Dedryck.

We have a bloated squad and need to move players on, but it’s no surprise Brendan Rodgers let Charlie know he wanted him to stay. He’s the right player to occupy third or fourth spot in the central defensive roster.  We’ll wait and see if Jozo can grab second spot.

  9. My friends in Celtic,

It seems the human brain can only remember 7 ( Seven ) pieces of information at any time. How the f@@k are you supposed to remember all the poxy passwords required for every occasion and transaction.

I wonder if that’s applicable to Zombies ?

  10. Lennybhoy,

That’s very true, but the stupidity of playing into the media’s hands like that was just cringeworthy, from memory they ripped the pish out of him.

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Brendan Rodgers still hasn’t won a match…

Sack the manager, the players and the board

  17. Having been particularly busy over the last week I have had little time to post. But I have been dropping in from time to time.

I have to to the board must be extraordinarily pleased with themselves.

All their plans have come to fruition.

When the Huns died the board hatched a plan to await their ghost returning. Celtic were put on ice. Fans given platitudes about managing on our own. 5 years of dismal downward spiral (added to previous downward spirals) ensued.

During this time the board wantonly attacked any sign of dissent from supporters and Paul sold us multiple squirrels to keep us distracted.

Bursting with pride they felt emboldened enough to tell breathlessly about Moneyball. We sold players for lots of money but never reinvested it. Meanwhile nothing was said about the boards complicity in cheating. Their silence and their love of the Hun.

This season saw the culmination of that so called strategy. Short memories abound. Humiliated by the Huns at hampden was only part of it.

And so we get to season book time. The board were slightly panicked. Supporters it seemed were at the end of their tether.

What to do. Well now the racist love I. With the Hun was returning the board felt they could push the boat out a bit. That would attract the support.

And lo it has come to pass.

Have you heard anything lately about the board making a statement on res 12? Naw of course not.

Has Paul analysed our strategic failings. Nah no need. We got Brendan Rodgers and the support duly oblige.

Nothing has changed at cp. sure we signed a good manager. But the strategy hasn’t changed and perhaps more tellingly th love in with the Huns is intact.the corruption and racism, so prevelant to see in the reaction to the cup final is all around us.

You are all signing up to it.

So no more complaints please about cheating, lies, downward spirals, heated driveways, res 12 etc.

    You are playing your part.

  19. Marrakesh Express on

Many have said that last weekend’s double blow (Rodgers and Hibs) was too much for the huns and tipped them over the edge, hence the irresponsible garbage from level 5 and the insane statement from Robertson yesterday.

However we should never lose sight of the fact that these people are traumatised and mentally scarred by the death of their beloved club 1872. That is not meant as tongue in cheek. It’ll be the first thing in their minds every morning and the last thing at night. They can create their own fantasy world and keep living a lie, ably backed by the msm. They know and we know it’s all false, and they know the ‘war’ was lost.

The Hun will remain twitchy, stir crazy and ready to explode at any time, for at least another generation yet. They’ll continue to dish out death threats like confetti and draw up hit lists of hate. (is David Murray on any?).

Anyway I’ll some them up by borrowing a nice quote from another cqnr a few months ago. ‘Their supremacy is gone and they don’t do equality’.

Perhaps as you say,the Record is finding fault and pointing it out for a change. The huns might just have gone too far,for once.
