Neil and players deserve our trust

220

Celtic notched up their 13th straight win in domestic competition against St Mirren yesterday.  That period included two wins against Lazio and a meaningless defeat to Cluj in the Europa League.  After losing to Livingston on 6 October, we were two points off the pace at the top of the table.  Now we are two points clear and have the League Cup back for the fourth season in succession.

Celtic have played two games every week since July apart from international breaks, when most Celtic players are in action for their nations.  Their return in this period has been nothing short of exceptional.  Were it not for a rush of blood to the head by Ryan Christie in Livingston and some penalty blindness at Easter Road, the question right now would be “Can anyone take a point off Celtic this season?”

Work still needs to be done to ensure we enter the winter break top of the table, but this is a script Neil Lennon and his players know well.  They deserve our trust.

  1. Hello again all you young rebels.

Had a nice wee relaxing day to myself today, no princess, no wee Grace

no weemhan wanting to play keepy uppy, 35 degs thank god.

No, Saturday is my day, down the local club, got to be some brash huns

about shirley, maybe get a bit of banter, think i might lose at that now

    due to lack of practise.

Celtic top on, ready for action, bring it on all you brash huns, is it all just

    bravado?

Seen a blue top, OMG they really are back…but…but it was an Evertonian

ach well, after a few feck the reds and hope the Celts hump those orange

barstewards it was back to where are all these confident rager supporters?

are they only over there in Bunny Scudland.

    They’re are certainly not here.

Maybe the Ozzies know, winners win, losers lose,

  2. jinkyredstar ‘Frimpong Merrily on High’ on

I just hope it dries up – I get agitated about ‘Hun weather’ – must be an age thing😀

  3. Just thought about my post there, brash huns, isn’t that just

appropriate? brash being cocksure , rash, noisy, loudmouthed

bouyant? well maybe thats too timmy lol.

Where as Celtic are confident, self assured, controlled etc.

I know where my moneys going.

    H.H . Mick

  4. Ralston is a hurting hun,and should be taken to task on his poisonous bile, always trying to incite…..

  5. JINKYSREDSTAR

I take it that it’s raining there in Glasgow, again, but really

you should treasure it, some parts of Oz haven’t had rain for

    years.

Easy for me to say but we’re back to that age old arguement

    climate change, natural, or manmade?

  6. Art of War & SFTB

Auden – fine poet. Yeats – a great in any generation. ‘The Second Coming’ – prophetic then and prophetic now. Blake – a visionary, a genuine radical. A better man and a better poet by far than the posturing Burns.

  7. Very funny Matt, but you know we had a lot in common

with the old films back then, we were shoite but we always

    had Hope. 8-))

You quote me correctly but fail to understand what I said.

I distinctly said “the name Rangers” – that name but for a period from CVA rejection up to and including the Brechin game, when Sevco was an associate member of the SFA, the Rangers name in one form, or, another has been involved in Scottish football.

The reason they spent big in the Murray era was money, usually borrowed, sometimes stolen from HMRC, the reason they survived in the lower divisions was money. The reason they now have Gerrard and are challenging us, is money.

As I said, there will always be money from somewhere to ensure the Rangers name survives.

  9. Melbourne Mick….perhaps final proof that ‘It’s the Hope that kills…”

    Hail Hail

    Matt

Who is this Kurioser? are we signing him ? how big is he ?

    and is he a tim?

    Sorry for all the questions.

    H.H . Mick

  11. Gerard’s interview pleading for ‘strong’ officials for Sunday and Ralston’s pathetic piece in the Record reek of desperation from a Sevco perspective to influence the officials for their advantage, same as it ever was.

    Just beat them Celtic.

    HH

  12. Just noticed reading back a statement “Clancy in Charge on Sunday, ” It now appears the scouser is in charge or am I reading his latest statement about how the referee must do everything to favour them wrongly? Surely I must have got that wrong, no?

  13. I agree not 1 Sevco player would get in our team.

I just think if we stop Tavierner putting in crosses they are fucked. He is a shite defender, there can be no doubt about that. The gap he leaves can be exploited, both is is where they rely on overloading the middle of the park to cover for him. 10 yards in our half hit them get the ball and counter, they can have possession all day long right up to the half way line then inside our half we should dominate the ball and move.

Lenny’s Lions just wear that Celtic jersey with pride, passion and heart and we will not go wrong.

  14. Thank you DBHOY

PADDYMAC might not post much but i know he’ll appreciate

    everybody’s concern and good wishes.

Are you watching the hun game at home or in a CSC?

It wasn’t money that helped the Rangers name survive in 2012.

It was political and judicial corruption. I don’t think Any of the parties were financially bribed to come to the verdicts they did.

They were enthusiastically promiscuous for the blue but they were not paid prostitutes.

  16. The Sevco are running scared already with all that pish about referees.

Ffs if there is one team in Scotland naw the world who benefit from a cheating association and a refereeing association it’s these bassas. Oh they are shiting it big time. Full of bluster and bravado a bit like a bully, call them out on the park Celtic and hump them.

    D. :)

  17. SFTB @12:51

You should apply for a job with SPFL as a ‘goal-post changer’. You just make it up as you go along – ’nuff said.

  18. Mick

At home with my boys 8 and 10, they’re both buzzing for the game, 8.30pm KO is perfect for us in the west. Haven’t been to Rosie’s (Perth CSC) for ages. It’s a great club with a brilliant singsong.

  19. From @thetributeact

Disgraceful writing by Gerry Ralston in what really is now the Daily Ranger.

Ralston trivialises racism and is crying wolf.

Why? To polish Morales terrible reputation to improve his much needed resale value. Morales is a violent and temperamental player.

Amazingly Ralston is able to point the finger at all of Scotland and accuse us all of racism based on the actions of one or two scumbags among hundreds of thousands of others.

Yet he has been able to sit for years singing and cheering with thousands who vent anti-Irish racism.

We have reached a new standard of barrel scraping in Scotland’s press.

They now openly mix politics and sport- for Sevco’s financial gain. Ralston’s projections on racism and bigotry are conveniently echoed by loyalist Tory Murdo Fraser.

    Reeks of a coordinated effort.

These bigots are playing a dangerous game in whipping their most extreme supporters into a frenzy.

We should take care to remember Ralston’s words down the line. Getting a club to pay for an unstable Morales is the primary goal but they are also a dog whistle.

In Scotland we got a grandstand view to an easy to understand case. Despite hard evidence of all manner of deception, fraud, and bribery, not a single person has been convicted related to Rangers FC / Sevco Scotland. https://twitter.com/ian_fraser/status/1209489728581582849

    From @DanielOConnel18

The daily record back page today with Slippy G pleading with the referee not to get any big decisions wrong is a shameless attempt to influence his decision-making in Sevco’s favour. They’re shitting themselves.

  20. HENRIK1967 @ 11:28am

Wow. Wish I hadn’t read that. Unbelievable piece of…. lord knows what. If that had been a sketch on Only An Excuse I would have said it was too far fetched.

  21. Ralston is saving the Pope the bother of declaring Alfredo the patron saint of sleekitness.

For those saying no huns would get in our starting XI . . . mmmm, did you watch the last game? Their inferior XI bossed us all over the park. We were outplayed, out thought and out fought. We couldn’t put three passes together, didn’t force their keeper to make a save and had two shots on goal.

Other than Forster, none of our players would have made a Team of the Day from that game. Our star players were made to look less than ordinary by very ordinary players. How did that happen? Why did so many of our players disappear from the action?

I hope in the two weeks since then, our players and our staff have learnt that we don’t win against them just by showing up – ok, it happened at Hampden but we got out of jail thanks to one man.

Lenny got the result last time but he needs to get the team and the tactics spot on this time. If we play at our best we win,

Having better players on paper counts for nothing tomorrow.
