Newco choose innuendo instead of action

904

Newco did not disappoint with last night’s statement, it was as incoherent, angry and contradictory as you would expect.  They claim:

“We are extremely concerned that member clubs were not provided with enough information, or time, to allow them to make fully informed decisions”.

They were allowed 28 days to ask for as much information as they wanted before voting!  Newco and most others were able to respond within two days – by choice.

“We are aware several club directors claimed they were being bullied”.

Several people we are not naming were bullied by someone we are not naming.  This is like the evidence of wrongdoing they say they have but would rather not show anyone.  To quote their founding manager, “Who are these people?”

They want to sound hard but have chosen to shut up instead of revealing anything – nice one.

“Addressing the [financial hardship of many of our clubs]was one of our primary objectives and the resolution we presented could and should have been progressed”.

“The SPFL chose to obstruct our resolution”.

“The fact that this solution was not afforded sufficient consideration defies belief”.

An independent QC was employed to examine their resolution and found it was not competent and could not be put to members.  They claim to want independent oversight but completely ignore independent oversight has happened.

“There is precedent within Scottish football that a league must not be compromised by changing the rules during the course of the competition.”

Again, a claim shrouded in innuendo, this time an unexplained precedent.  If I was a betting man, I would say they forgot the league schedule was extended in 2008 to accommodate Oldco (I regularly hear of this amnesia), and are referring to the fact that it was not extended as long as they wanted.

“The anger of our fans is understood and shared by our Board, who continue to examine all legal options available.”  Newco do so well in court, the SPFL board must be terrified.

The statement confirms they have a problem accepting rules.  An independent QC explained to Newco MD Stewart Robertson and the rest of the SPFL board why Newco’s resolution could not be pursued.  Robertson was asked if there was anything more he wanted to ask and if he felt the matter had been given sufficient consideration by the SPFL board.

It was not the SPFL board, the chief exec, a retained solicitor or any other malign foe who stopped their resolution, it was an independent QC.  These are the rules, they were independently enforced, accept them.

Remember this SPFL vote did not end the Premiership season, all it did was ensure the season will not be voided, all other options remain on the table.  It’s not much of a hill to stand and fight on in these difficult times.

    MM,

I note there are a few differen rhyme and slang versions of buns, I always called them current buns while I see on here different bun types benig used.

Today our chat happened to throw up a rhyme and slang I’ve not previously considered “bums”

And “scrufulous bums” happens to be an excellent rhyme and slang with merit. 😀

I was given that response when i asked about Res12. When i asked about the unusual emails between Regan and Rangers it was suggested to me that should someone have access to emails between the SFA and Celtic, then interpretation could make those emails look suspicious when they are not. At this point a Board member entered the conversation and it was relayed to him, in a strangely jovial and causal manner, what we were discussing, the Board member immediately looked to shut down the conversation, saying he was ‘talking to the guys’ (you will probably know who it is now) and quickly moved away.

I was left with an overriding feeling that Celtic see the SFA as an enabler of the licence rather than an examiner and that in all honesty they either don’t get it or aren’t interested.

  7. Barry Ferguson….

He was getting abuse from some Hun fans after his team Kelty Hearts were Crowned Champions for the League Title. He had earlier claimed in the media that he didnt want this to happen to them and how it was wrong for any team to be Crowned Champs if ALL games arent completed……he then accepted his Kelty mob being crowned Champs.

On FF…they were calling him a Bawbag…”Taig lover” etc etc…as they viewed that Kelty Hearts and wee Bawbag Ferguson had somehow strengthened the case for Celtic to being Crowned Champions…..

A bit of Hun on Hun action…ye canny whack it !

It’s amazing how much resources can be found when it comes to protecting the elites position and property but when it come to the plebs the best they can do is instigate a blame game. Right now trillions are being printed to butress the failed financial/political establishment and mobilize their petorian guard to defend against civil unrest.

Who would believe the plebs could possibly have any reason to be unhappy with this best of all possible options.

  14. Canamalar,

Re your post above about austerity. I go further. This rubbish about the deficit and national debt. A country with its own central bank and sovereign currency cannot, by definition, go skint in it’s own currency. That’s how they can turn on the money tap, if the political will is there. Easy!. No problems with repayments.

Tories are the middlemen between the state and the people, extracting their rents. Get them tae f–k. They will not be missed.

    Ger57,

The current situation is exposing the myth about the need for austerity, that’s why it’s so important to stoke up the conflict and warmongering to divert attention from the failure of the political establishment.

Go easy on wee budgie . It can’t be easy always being second best in the bigot stakes . Not to mention having to live with a face made out of playdough.

  18. Just on Barry Ferguson. I’ve found him to be one of very few sensible voices emanating from the other side.

On PLZ soccer he’s rubbished null and void as an option and called on ‘Rangers’ fans to accept Celtic inevitably winning the 9 and to move on if that’s the case.

  19. The fact Ann Budge has been placed in charge of reconstruction efforts tells me no one is taking reconstruction seriously. It will not happen.

  20. Even allowing for stupidity and bias, never before had the MSSM got it so wrong as it did on the morning of the 5-1 game. At Clyde, Nicholas and a fellow ‘pundit’ actually sniggered when they heard that Burchill wasn’t starting. More hilarity followed as they learned that, Larsson and the D.R’s very own ‘Dud Czech’ were up front.

  21. Came in from running the Grandson ragged with training out the back and switched on BBC Scotland, Budge on and talking one load of shoite straight back aff and out back.

You were in good form this morning, but can I ask you a question. You said your Hun burd ditched you after Christmas .

Did you buy her a Christmas present ?

    The 5-1 DVD perhaps ? ;-)))

Btw . Your post confirmed that the game indeed was a 3pm kickoff. Thanks, a couple of pals had doubted that.

Plenty talk of independent enquires on Radio Scotland this afternoon. They all agreed that recriminations will continue due to flaws in the processes.

I don’t recall anyone from a panel on Radio Scotland asking about an independent enquiry on

It cant be just me who believes that Anne Budge looks like she would be happier re-organising the Reformation than reconstruction of football in Scotland. In terms of the latter she is of the view that no club should be awarded the title “without playing 38 matches”, the corollary being no doubt that you cannot get relegated either. Now that is obviously aimed at Celtic FC, and suggests that not only does she believe we should not be Champions (and this where any loose talk of asterisks grates) but that Hearts should continue in the top league regardless of that club’s actual results. I don’t mind her speaking up for Hearts but when that becomes an out and out attack on us, as it has, she should be nowhere near any body making any kind of recommendations or worse, decisions.
