    they have probably looked slightly more dangerous than us … but, neither team created much in the way of real chances …. would be happy to stay like that, but I think the heat will play its part …. there will be more chances created as players tire …. think LG could play a big part in this game tonight.

    We have not really tested their defense and have CG to thank for the shoreline.

     

    Ref is a wee bit reluctant to penalize their off the ball niggling fouls

     

    Izzy playing well, but we are unable to shut down their left wing.

    Qarabag, as they were at CP, – lacking offensively, biggest thing about them is their support and stadium……..Hmmmm

     

     

     

    No silly mistakes and we could win the away leg as well.

     

     

     

    Celtic spotted the keeper as a weak spot for crosses and dead balls,

     

    and it could be fruitful.

     

     

     

    Referee remains a worry as he lets free kick, after free go.

    Ronny needs to slap SJ about the head at half time. not sure about boyata however apart from that we are playing well lets not give them any easy chances Nadir and Nir are putting in a shift. bring LG on in the second half as they get desparate. We can do this COYBIG.

    A nervy first half, I’ll take that for the second half, although I reckon they will throw everything at us now and hopefully a wee gap will open up…bring on the griff for that moment.

    As I stated 10mins ago, GMS is showing to be clueless defensively. Allowing them far too much room down their left wing.

     

    Got to get tighter, and be more aware of things when we aren’t in possession of the ball

    What to do about the holding?

     

    Whenever theres a close tussle their players arms are wrapped around our players arms so they cannot get away but they are too fly and throw themselves to the ground when it looks like they are going to loose the tussle.

     

    A game that is foreign to us but it is turning over possession to them at times.

    First half summary…

     

     

    Craig Gordon absolutely flapped at a cross… and could easily have been 1-0 down… but what a save later on from Almeida’s shot… a certain goal !

     

     

    Izzy’s had a couple of stupid decisions and slack passes, leading to FK or half chances.

     

     

    V V D & Nir Bitton the absolute stand-outs so far… Broony & Armstrong doing OK.

     

     

    Stefan Johansen in danger of yellow or red if he keeps up the annoying attitude !

     

     

    Nadir never really looked like scoring, but my money’s on him – @7/1 – in the 2nd half.

    HT 0-0

     

     

    Half way there. The Bhoys have played well with little help from the referee. He has denied us several fouls in good attacking areas. Apart from a long range effort which Craig saved magnificently, they have not looked too dangerous. As usual Virgil is holding things together at the back and all the midfield guys are working their socks off.

     

     

    Qarabag have been very careless at the back at times but we have not taken advantage of the gifts yet. Would love a goal to calm the nerves, but we are looking in control.

    CG- World class save

     

    EI- After dodgy start, he’s been very good defensively

     

    VVD- So classy. Ship steadier.

     

    DB- Jury out but OK.

     

    ML- OK

     

    SB- Quiter than normal.

     

    SJ- Busy but lucky not to be booked. Twice.

     

    NB- MOTM

     

    GMS- Poor.

     

    SA- Better than GMS. Positive and energetic.

     

    NC- Just don’t see this hold-up guy they’re talking about. He actually is not adept at holding it up for a man of his size. I don’t buy the fitness argument. No excuses.

     

     

    Mid to long range passing has been very poor. Link up play between forwards is non existent. Qarabag are poor. A bit of composure from us and this would be comfortable.

    johansen need to calm down – he motioned a head butt and if the player had play acted johansen would have been off. GMS needs to pass the ball and make more of his speed off the ball.

    Wouldn’t like to play on that pitch. Midfielders should be clipping it from anywhere a la Biton. Good first half. Fine fine margins. Fancy us to score but keep composure sold for first 10 minutes of second half please.

    We need a bit more calmness in possesion . Johansen is needlessly getting involved and putting the team in danger ,as with their goal attempt. We seem to be making this more difficult a nervey than it should be. GMS not really up to speed tonight and he looked completely cream-crackered at HT.

    And I still think we’ll beat them by one clear goal.

     

    We’re playing a lot better than you’ll read on here.

     

    GMS needs a bit of support There’s not a Celtic failure on that park.

    Cifti seems to be one of these players that pretends he is trying in 50-50’s but always lets the defender get there first.

     

    He can’t head the ball and he is slow.

     

     

    Can he prove me wrong……i hope so!
