Celtic’s leadership, fight and ability all required

275

There is a truism in football: the next game is always the big one.  It felt very true a week ago, as we prepared for a trip to Dundee – even more so late in the second half.  Now, all I can think about is Hearts tomorrow.  A win opens up our world.  For a while, at least, we go six points clear and ask questions of the pretenders.

Hearts are a difficult team to analyse.  They sit third in the table, having twice beaten the champions.  Since that second win five weeks ago, they have drawn with Kilmarnock home and away, lost at Ross County and in the Cup semi to Newco, while recording wins over Greenock Morton, St Mirren and Livingston.  In short, they usually win against teams they are better than, and Celtic.

Whatever crisis of faith I had in this Celtic team back in February has been restored.  They are not the finished article, but they are a team with leadership, fight and ability.  Gallons of which will be needed tomorrow.  You and I will need to provide enormous vocal support – and to put a lid on any impatience.

Late news on Liam Scales new four-year contract.  Does anyone else in the squad personify leadership and fight as much as he does?

  1. My abiding memory of Albert Kidd day is my mate relaying the score from Dens as h3 had his tyrannies stuck to his ear. The noise was overwhelming; so much so, that it took me a wee while to realise Albert had scored a second. Does my heart good just to think of it.

Mind you, it fades in comparison to the feeling after the 65 Final. That was a once in a lifetime feeling, as it was the first important trophy I actually witnessed us winning.

We need a full squad of players for next season, both Greg and Liam are good enough to be in that.

Can we do better in first team choices?

    No question about it?

In talks with Greg Taylor to extend his contract

    …………

Get wee GREG signed up Celtic.

I LOVE his commitment and work rate during games.

Cant someone at Celtic get wee Greg to lie on a ” RACK” every night and stretch him a wee bit ?

When I say ” RACK” I meant the Medieval Rack…….NOT the other ” RACK” for those with dirty minds .

    LOL.

When you see the main stand tilting tomorrow you’ll know that Big Jimmy has found his seat.😂

  6. Just used the email thingy to check that last season the season ticket reminder email was sent out on the 4th May ….

On Hearts they play a physical style which they are not very good at hence they almost always lose to the Hun.

We just need to keep the ball moving and a straightforward 3-0 win will follow.

Agree on Hearts. We were all over them at their own midden until the Mibs decided to take the game away from us. Am sure they won’t be able to do that tomorrow at a packed Celtic Pack.

Mon the hoops! 4-1 to the good guys. Scorers: Hatate, Kyogo, Khun and Idah.

    😃🇮🇪🍀🏆⚽️

  9. BRRB – You should be blacklisted from all venues including pubs.

You sir are a souside ruffian Cad.

The fact we do not let you in the Kerrydale says it all.

Smart move by the club to put Liam on a 4 year deal to ward off hostile bids from Dundalk and the likes….

I do actually like Scales, but he hasn’t transformed into a different player from the one Ange sent out on loan to Aberdeen. That now seems to be the level of player we’re setting our levels at. A definite downgrade in calibre and cost.

Never change Lawwell and cronies. Hoard that cash!

PS sit back and be entertained by Lawwell’s shills on here, including our host. Isn’t this knife edge league race with an abysmal Sevco just so exciting?

  12. Great news about Liam Scales !

Kept us in the running when CV was out..

Everytime he was asked to partner a new CH , he stepped up to the plate.

  13. I am happy to note that Conor Goldson will be missing from the Ibrox team for the rest of the season. He is an experienced and valuable member of their team – a formidable defender and dangerous in the opposition box.

He had gilt-edged chances against us at Ibrox recently – two unchallenged headers that he should have scored. I know some will jump in and mention a couple of handball decisions that he apparently he got off with in games against us – that’s irrelevant and in the past; it has no bearing on the title run-in, his absence certainly does.

At last the injury merry-go-round seems to favouring Celtic at this important juncture. If we can get Callum (a big if) and Reo fully fit, we are in good shape all round.

Yes, it is. Aren’t you engaged and excited? Were you more pleased when we had a league sown up by February? If you were, could we detect that joy in the posts you were making on CQN at those times?

Sevco have always been abysmal even when they were a better team. I relish every league win even when they finish 3rd or 4th

We shall thrash the hun when we meet the scum. Tomorrow we shall thrash their horrible counterparts which is more important. I despise the criminal, violent rabble that follow both teams. And that’s just the women.

  17. It seems that sevcos best goalie being out for the season was caused by a player falling on him 😁

They were probably practicing “fall down for a penalty “…😂😂

    I agree.

Anything which disrupts them is welcome, even if it only losing a guy who is maybe now regarded as a back up at best.

Lord knows we’ve had our season interrupted by injuries.

    Maybe now it’s their turn.

his headers against us are dangerous and relevant, but his handballs are not.
