    Job done, Bhoys! Although Ronny’s tactics were sound, I think the dodgy pitch made it difficult to break as quickly as we wanted. Under no real pressure, tho, and if they committed more players forward, we could’ve punished them.

    Miles and miles from home, a poor pitch, hot conditions, a big hostile crowd and a bonkers one-sided referee….yet we did it. Excellent.

    The Bhoys are Through!

     

     

    Surprised at so many saying Qarabag were a very poor side. Maybe compared to Barca, Real and Bayern but not compared to many others. They were a decent side and we did well to knock them out. For me, as a supporter more interested in games than finance, this was a more important game than the final qualifier because guaranteed involvement in Europe was at stake.Well done the Celts and all the best for the Dons tomorrow.

    plenty tired legs after that and not a failure in the Celtic team,

    We wont punt VVD as long as we make the CL group stages and certainly not for 8 million again tonight he showed he is a class centre back and the first half save from Craig Gordon was immense. I think tonight Ronny earned the right to continue his team building. H.H.

    Craig – solid, as usual

     

    Mikel – solid defensively, didn’t show much going forward, probably playing to instructions

     

    Boyata – had a good game, switched off a couple of times, only saw one loose pass this game

     

    VVD – as usual

     

    Izzy – love the wee man, had a very good game, more defensive than usual

     

    Broonie – better in the second half, unusually quiet in the first; have to say was skinned a few times

     

    Biton – shouldn’t smoke a cigar during games, it gives a bad impression

     

    GMS – not his night, maybe the surface had something to do with it, but didn;t seem confident

     

    SA – did ok, always showed, but didn;t always come off

     

    Jo – never stopped running, but had a poor game tonight imo – passing was very poor. If you’re going to mix it, do it properly and be a cute hoor

     

    Ciftci – giving the boy time, had a thankless task in many respects, but not taking the right option as to finding space, and isn’t holding the ball yet

     

    Griff – similar

     

    Jamesie – I wish he could learn to fly, he’s got the ability but needs the mentality

     

    KC – not on for long enough to make any real impression

     

     

    Ref – was a mighty pile of cac

    Jeez, we are one game into the new season and you’d think we were half way through reading some of the shite on here, we had an excellent game, bar Nir Bitton I have to say Izzy had a stormer and I’m thinking a load of the greetin faced have been looking for a new left back.

     

    We need a left back that can defend, well I think tonight Izzy shut quite a few of the gobshites right up :)

     

    There was not one single failure in that team tonight, every single one done their job, proof ?

     

    We’re through to the next round, I hope we are as shite in the next round as long as we get the result.

     

    I’d much much prefer we ran riot and scored barrel loads but that doesn’t happen at this level however every game we play at this level the fitter and better we get so the barrel loads will come in the domestic games.
