‘Three stands belting out ‘Who’s the ****** in the black?’ was the predictable, but no less shameful, response.’

there are various ways to pay your entry fee if you’d like to join. Cash, online bank transfer, paypal or cheque – any are acceptable. If you drop an email to cqnpredictor@gmail.com I’ll send you full details of the rules and payment options, probably this evening. If you then change your mind about signing up then no problem. WE are already a large clique of 76 standers, men and wummin!

  3. Ross McCrorie handball should be penalty for Celtic and red card for the player. I have no any doubts about it. Will find video and put it here in a few minutes.

  4. Today at 4pm,I will be in the Duomo of Milano to participate in the Mass of installation of my friend Archbishop Mario Delpini. Please if you pray say one for him in his new ministry. He will be responsible for the largest Diocese in Europe, if not in the world. People in Greenock and Paisley who have met know he is a very caring and humble person. These traits will stand him well in the years ahead. Ad multos Anno’s, Mario.

  5. Cheers JOBO and ZBYSZEK.

    allrighty,

say a wee prayer for Wuddie and Mary Anne.

Wuddie would have been 100 today.

  7. How did that happen once more. Cannot get it to accept the proper spelling. I will not accept my correction.

  8. Only found out recently that my ancestors from my fathers side were from Raphoe in Donegal and made their way to Scotland between 1845-1847, when the famine was particularly bad .

Always had empathy for the people and families involved in that tragedy of human suffering which was exacerbated by increasing the number of ships with potatoes and livestock on them leaving Ireland to England during the famine .

Songs that I’ve loved for years like the pogues ‘ thousands are sailing ‘ have taken on extra meaning for me.

Glasgow city’s councils reticence to approve the memorial in Glasgow could be driven by a fear of alienating the majority of the population in Scotland and a possible inherent bias within that organisation, difficult to have a definitive opinion when I haven’t lived there for 14yrs.

Always difficult to be heard politically when your a minority, just means we need to shout louder.

  9. Dbhoy – it’s astonishing that a human tragedy with huge historical significance for Ireland and the countries those fleeing from it, is in any way regarded as controversial.

My feeling is that it’s a minority who would (a) be offended (b) even notice it was there (c) be vocal in their opposition to a famine memorial.

I can’t get my head round the way arguing against it would appear. ‘We couldn’t have that, some bigots would be upset’? What are the actual arguments used by GCC against locating it centrally?

I’m away from Scotland longer than you but there often enough to believe most people of all persuasions would be morally adjusted well enough to have no issue with the great hunger being remembered in a city to which so many fled from its horrors and subsequently from the economic and political maelstrom it caused in Ireland.

It affected catholic and Protestant alike. And as you say, the powers that were shipped foodstuffs out of the country while the destitute starved.

  10. Big Sutton is good value for money on BT sport. ‘Brendan Rodgers has won more games at Ibrox thAn Pedro Caixinha’.

  11. Tom English article on BBC website, saying Griffiths behaviour inflammatory and worthy of censure yet doesn’t think Caixinha squaring up to Brown is worthy of any action. Ok Tom.

  12. Was away for a bit there.

    ROBERTTRESSELL

    Cheers for reply.

My opinion on the reasons for GCC inaction were based primarily on my own experiences growing up in Scotland and I’ll admit working in not so multicultural places like Larkhall, Stonehouse may have coloured my views slightly:))))

Your right in saying it affected catholic and protestants but I don’t think popular history ever framed it that way.

Anyway like you I’d like to know the real reasons for their ( GCC ) conduct and I’m sure there will be other posters more in the know than I am that can add to the discussion.

    HH

  13. Regarding the famine memorial. I have been persistent in my claim that Scotland is an institutionally racist country. It is and the reticence around the memorial is merely a system of that. Scotland has never admitted its problem. Until it does you will see the media and Scottish I situations continually defend or deny its racism.

  14. anyone ever heard of this non-entity ?

Brown, the man with the most passes in last seasons champions league.

    Holder of 14 medals.

While going about his job and trying to get off the park, is stopped by the rangers manager, who challenges him to a fight.

What part of that is broonys fault.

Pedro should be up before the compliance officer on tuesday.

Celtic captain’s row with Rangers’ boss shows complete lack of class Michael Black 24 September, 2017 Celtic, English League Cup, Rangers

For a player whose limitations were brutally exposed by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, Celtic captain Scott Brown has a lot to say for himself. Too much in fact.

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha accused the midfielder of elbowing Alfredo Morelos during Saturday’s Old Firm meeting at Ibrox and Brown’s behaviour afterwards showed a complete lack of class.

The incident occurred just before half-time, prompting Caixinha to confront Brown as the players left the field.

“I saw an elbow, for a second time in the same place on the same pitch, and nothing happened,” Caixinha said.

“That’s what I’m criticising and I told him: ‘If I’m on the pitch, you’re not coming to put an elbow on my face’.”

Brown’s head-to-head confrontation with the Rangers boss was an embarrassment, with the 32-year-old’s demeanour bearing all the hallmarks of a thug outside a Glasgow kebab shop on a Saturday night. Eyes bulging, veins popping out of his head – thuggery personified.

His subsequent post on Instagram did little to diffuse the situation, although his comment was predictably lapped up by some of social media’s less savoury characters.

Brown clearly fancies himself as a top player, but he has a vastly over-inflated opinion of his own worth.

Scotland has historically produced some fine players, with the likes of Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness and Gordon Strachan proving themselves on the highest stage.

Brown’s career has never progressed beyond the Scottish Premiership and Saturday’s antics showed everyone why that’s the case.

Honestly there is no way that the McCrorie handball was deliberate. The ball is coming down from over his head as he and Griif were running into the box.. It would have been extremely harsh to have awarded a penalty and a red card for that. If it happened to Jozo or Dedryk I would have been fuming.

Neither was the Jozo on Morelos a penalty.

Anyway want to steal one of their songs.

    OH Oh Jozo Simunovic

Oh Oh he is a great defender

OH Oh he put Kenny Miller in the Milky Way

Haven’t noticed a single sheep wearing one in the stands, suppose that answers your question!

The ball clearly hits the boy’s hand but no way can anyone be sure that was deliberate.

I prefer to beat them with all their players on the park. No excuses.

We gubbed them again and they are miles behind us and they are not closing that gap anytime this decade.

A strange choice of colour for them, don’t think they’ll fly off the shelves.

  19. Walker clearly under instructions to big up any R angers’ claims – no matter how risible. The stooge in the studio were the backing group.

    Far-fetched? Remember Nevin.

  20. NEGANON2. not just scotland ask yourself this. can a jew become pm or a muslim hindu etc anyone but a catholic.

  21. They can say or write what they like but the fact is we won 2-0 in what was a fairly straightforward victory. Don’t think we learned anything about any Celtic player that we didn’t know already. This was a huge game for them a bit like when MON took over and we won 6-2. They’re still ordinary ,they know it and it kills them .

  22. Great result , always a bonus beating them . I still believe we are a bit soft , that guy Dorrans was out there laying the boot in all game , and hs swings at anything that moved in green n White were meant to harm our bhoys . Ryan jack the same . And magwa morellas worth the watching , typical rangers material . Sleeket individual , time we were sorting these plastic hardmen out .

Kris commons , looks like your going the same way as the bonners , walkers , etc . . Look at lovenkrants yesterday ,hadn,t a bad word for anything that rangers did yesterday . Every ex hun is the same , why do they have such loyalty to them , our ex players are queuing up to call against us . That’s why tommy Boyd is not on these pundit gigs , he would never sell his soul . Take the money commons , you Will get plenty work .

  23. Tales of ten million?

Its taken from summer to the autumn for SMSM to convince the delusional that somehow * Rangers * cobbled together £10m from nowhere which they spent in a fortnight at the start of the season. We all know that they didn’t and undisclosed fees and bosman’s have grown arms and legs, as hope rises only to fail at the first, we can’t be far now from the new orange or camouflaged khaki away kit.

Similar lies helped kill old Rangers now trotted out for tribute FC and its gotten them to fifth for halloween? An omnishambles to add to the death of the original club today * Rangers * have blown it again from another ‘clean slate’, their manager in particular and two of their signings illustrate the dire straits this club can get itself into in such as short space of time.

History reveals that even when old Rangers were non compliant they didn’t always win. *Rangers* on a level playing field are just the epitomy of how not to start a new football club, whilst pretending to be something you are not. Without contrition or penance, perpetrating a false premise has doomed them to a perpetual football hell.

The Celtic support in the Broomloan Stand yesterday and all round the world today and tomorrow, reap the benefits of these pay back years , and thank our gods above for the gift he gave us, instead of Rangers.

  24. I was in my local Tesco recently, as it was a nice day I had on a T-shirt on with the words of Jock about the Lisbon Lions we did it playing beautiful football, the check out operator asked me about the T-shirt and was pleased with my response that it was what Jock Stein said about his team who had won the European Cup and her son would like the T-shirt, that was fine however next in line was an old woman 70ish who had a scoul of her face that would turn milk, prejudice is not only in the stands of Ibrox.
