Schisms, corralling the message

926

Aberdeen are on the kind of downward spiral which is difficult to arrest, but there’s more going on that we know about publicly. I would be amazed if their recent run, four defeats and a draw in five games, after winning their opening eight league games, was all to do with matters on the park.

They are a team who look to be in schism. If so, Celtic Park is the perfect venue to pull together. You raise your game at Celtic Park in a way which isn’t likely in Dingwall. Whatever differences that exist will be set aside, we’ll need to be on our game to win.

Craig Whyte’s bankrupt, unable to pay Ticketus the £18m damages they won against him. Craig’s financial strength was plain for all to see, as he made regular trips north on Easyjet in his worn-out attire, owning up to the fact he couldn’t fund the bank repayment, until a clever knight put him onto Ticketus.

Charles Green was equally transparent. Relying on shares-for-backing deals with pliable ‘legends’. Now we have Dave King, overwhelmingly dependent on PR and a compliant media, while the rest of the world is sticking dates in the calendar. The most common question I’m asked these days is “When’s it going to happen?” It’s no longer a matter of “if” it’s going to happen.

The re-writing of history, evident today, will be rolled out again in due course. “We told you about him”, they will scream. Aye, sure you did. You also made it all possible, just as you did with Green, Whyte and Murray.

The trade in favours, exclusive stories, substances and team-handed loose-limbed 60 minute acquaintances, deployed to sustain the project and corral the message over the years is legend. Truly legend. Fraternity on this level takes more than money, a business lunch or a game of golf.  If that’s how you think the game is played, these guys will leave you standing.  Shed tears for none of them.

The books which will be written when the guilty are dead will sell millions.

Ghirls for Good

Ladies, sign up for this year’s Celtic Foundation Ghirls for Good Christmas lunch.  I’m told it’s a riot and one of the best days of the year at Celtic Park……  More here.

Thanks for posting Ronny’s presser…………………….enjoyed that.

Ronny had the sleekits well in sight and never missed a target.

Ronny had a genuine and impressive reaction to those rockets that would have Celtic policy managed by vaudevilian headline bait and would have our Club placed in permanent terminal peril,

  12. blantyretim is praying for the Knox family on

It is near Wensceslas Square and the street is a right dodgy one – full of strip bars and other such establishments but there are normal bars there too.

Also, In the Stare Mesto (old town square) there is also an Irish bar right next to an English bar – one has Tricolours and the other has Union Jacks outside it. Bottom right hand corner of the square if you are walking down to the square towards the river rather than up from the river- in which case it would be bottom left hand corner.

Thank you for posting the Ronny interview, I spent a frustrating day yesterday not watching it.

I would love to have seen the camera do a 180 to see the faces of the assembly of rockets posing as football journalists faces as Ronny gave them something they weren’t expecting.

The level of questions at every Celtic employees interview in Scotland is beyond embarrassing, these clowns are just probing for the next negative headline to print about us and Ronny sorted that right out with his click bait comment.

Good to see Celtic’s manager rise above the mire and clearly state his position.

BBC_SCOTLAND_CMYKAfter publicising the thoughts of Willie Miller and Alex McLeish, in conjunction with William Hill and Ladbrokes, on Ronny Deila, the BBC have sought further expert help for the Celtic boss.

    Jimmy. Calderwood.

What insight the former Aberdeen, Dunfermline, Kilmarnock and Ross County manager has on managing Celtic is difficult to fathom but with a stable of experts that includes Derek Ferguson, Craig Paterson and Alex Rae it seems that public service is a distant memory for the state broadcaster.

The best line to come out of their licence funded exclusive is the dynamic revelation that, according to Jimmy ‘That’s the way football is in Scotland.’

People from the west of Scotland and the Scottish football community know the lie of the land.

Calderwood isn’t a Celtic fan, he’s never been slow to talk up his liking for all things Ibrox related and deserves recognition for that while others duck and fly flags of convenience.

Celtic struggling will be a cause of joy for Calderwood just as the administration and liquidation of Rangers was and is a continuing source of delight for millions of Celtic supporters.

If the state broadcaster wants to discuss matters at Celtic there are numerous options that they could call upon like Paul Lambert or Neil Lennon. Neither are too difficult to contact but perhaps might not share the same thoughts as the people at the BBC who until two years ago paid James Traynor for his opinions.

Calderwood is a decent sport, he knows the Scottish game, has worked abroad and can string together a few thoughts and ideas.

If the BBC want to share his thoughts why not ask him about the situation at Ibrox on the day Pep Warburton has admitted that he will have very little to spend in January (assuming that administration is avoided).

Recalling his Dunfermline days Calderwood could explain the problems of working with a financial noose close by and tightening.

Readers, listeners and viewers can choose whether to support independent publishers and broadcasters, with the backing of the licence fee and their public service remit the BBC ought to be above scraping the barrel in publishing Calderwood’s thoughts on Deila. No name is currently attributed to this scoop.

The difference between Ronny and The Slug of Keevinsville is that Ronny reacted genuinely to the question and spoke from his heart. The Slug has for years slurped down the soup and never once in my opinion said a genuine heartfelt thing, he’s so obvious and predictable in his reactions to all football matters.

A goal in each half and a clean sheet please.

  28. Ronny’s 2nd part of the interview would have carried more punch if….

He had pointed out that……yes, we’ve had brilliant successes over the years but….those successful times could have been even better had we been playing on a level playing field, what with ~ Rangers FC’s financial doping and, Neil Lennon proving beyond any doubt that the refereeing fraternity in Scottish football is the same as it has always been….anti- Celtic.

    Why cant he say that?

Why cant it be pointed out that, no matter what the easily / conveniently duped LNS findings….Celtic FC and, all the other clubs in Scottish football were ‘cheated’ out of 22 trophies since the ‘dubious’ David Murray era at ibrokes?

    Just flukin say it!

Stop sooking up to the evil ones!

Stop negotiating ‘dodgy’ TV-deals to give the huns more money.

No matter what Ronny said yesterday……

He’s shooting fish in a barrell.

He is conditioned to ‘not’ challenge mibbery!

The board dont like the media’s heat….so, ban them!

Better still…..get a board with a set of cojones who will ban the anti-Celtic media.

Take Hugh Keevins oot the SMSM and, it’s just a big orange walk.

    Packie took the soup…..feck him.

Sutton is balanced….but, somewhere along the line….he’ll be reigned-in.

Murdo has been booted in the haw-maws by two different sets of Celtic directorial dictators.

    1. Murdo was ‘promised’ a testimonial in his 10th season with Celtic, 1988….(even the worst player that I have seen at CP-Peter-Grant got a testimonial) ….the board changed their minds and, Murdo had to move to B.Dortmund. Would Murdo staying have been a more shrewd move than bringing in Billy Stark?….Can ye imagine Murdo v’s Hurlock / Spackman / McCall / Fluk-face-Fergushun….etc…instead we had Peter the pointer and got bullied off the pitch for 9 years of rudderless leadership.

    2. Wim, suggested that, Celtic’s best assistant manager since Sean Fallon should have got the Celtic managers job after him but….Bull-in-a-China-Shop-McCann….decided that, puppet Dr Jo would get the gig….after, a three month search to replace Wim.

Anyway….Ronny threw a couple of punches yesterday but, his employers will ensure that…shadow-boxing will be the limit of Celtic managers who are conditioned by a kowtowing board.

Smell the glove?….Mair like…Smell the coffee.

  29. Top of the morning to you all from a brightish and breezy Fife.

    The fuss over Ronnie?

Leaving aside his own record as a manager, Ronnie has simply spoken the truth regarding media treatment of Celtic.

He has contrasted how poor underachievers Rangers, in a lower league, are given plaudits while we are given pelters.

He also makes this case at international level whereby Scotland under Strachan have failed but that is just fine because the MSM say so.

And he also says failed ex-Rangers manager McLeish knows nothing about what’s going on at Celtic.

Ronnie has told us how others (foreigners) see us.

This has caused the Scottish MSM to jump up and down in rage.

The last two times I saw this happen was when Fergus went after Farry and when Uefa said there was a peculiar acceptance of sectarianism in Scotland vis a vis the Billy Boys song which had been tolerated for ages.

    They can’t handle the truth.

Shame on Celtic FC for putting a sanitised version of his interview on the club website. But no surprises there..they are a spineless bunch.

I back Ronnie for speaking the truth, and not ranting as is being claimed.

Won’t be at the game today but if I was I would roar Ronnie on.
