Schisms, corralling the message

926

Aberdeen are on the kind of downward spiral which is difficult to arrest, but there’s more going on that we know about publicly. I would be amazed if their recent run, four defeats and a draw in five games, after winning their opening eight league games, was all to do with matters on the park.

They are a team who look to be in schism. If so, Celtic Park is the perfect venue to pull together. You raise your game at Celtic Park in a way which isn’t likely in Dingwall. Whatever differences that exist will be set aside, we’ll need to be on our game to win.

Craig Whyte’s bankrupt, unable to pay Ticketus the £18m damages they won against him. Craig’s financial strength was plain for all to see, as he made regular trips north on Easyjet in his worn-out attire, owning up to the fact he couldn’t fund the bank repayment, until a clever knight put him onto Ticketus.

Charles Green was equally transparent. Relying on shares-for-backing deals with pliable ‘legends’. Now we have Dave King, overwhelmingly dependent on PR and a compliant media, while the rest of the world is sticking dates in the calendar. The most common question I’m asked these days is “When’s it going to happen?” It’s no longer a matter of “if” it’s going to happen.

The re-writing of history, evident today, will be rolled out again in due course. “We told you about him”, they will scream. Aye, sure you did. You also made it all possible, just as you did with Green, Whyte and Murray.

The trade in favours, exclusive stories, substances and team-handed loose-limbed 60 minute acquaintances, deployed to sustain the project and corral the message over the years is legend. Truly legend. Fraternity on this level takes more than money, a business lunch or a game of golf.  If that’s how you think the game is played, these guys will leave you standing.  Shed tears for none of them.

The books which will be written when the guilty are dead will sell millions.

Ghirls for Good

Ladies, sign up for this year’s Celtic Foundation Ghirls for Good Christmas lunch.  I’m told it’s a riot and one of the best days of the year at Celtic Park……  More here.

That is the situation in Russia also. The public believe everything that they see on TV as they are not computer literate. RIA Novosti is their BBC.

As for the greatest hoax. It’s not the moon landings. No-one died as a result of the moon landings, false or true. The 2 greatest hoaxes are (a) the alleged WMD in Iraq. We are still seeing the consequences of that today which has adversely impacted millions. The 2nd greatest hoax is that a team who are dead, some believe still exist (clue: not Third Lanark). Well, I suppose it is Halloween.

Pro spin has never been a problem. I can only think of one exception to the rule of hiring loyal Rangers fans to the sports desks of Glasgow titles. The added value of Level 5 was the promotion of SD cards under the guise of journalism. I refer you to Chris Jack and Gordon Waddell in regard to the latter.

The media are crapping themselfs about RD imo, they know that given time and backing, he will only get better and better.

Sad thing for me is the support are listening to them, believing the pish that europe is now the benchmark.

Many Celtic supporters, especially those of. Certain vintage don’t do computers.

They rely on vehicles like the BBC to see and hear thinks Celtic. It is frankly insulting to think that they cannot make up their own minds in what is real and what is drivel.

This must be down to a whole clique working there with who ever is in charge encouraging and enabling them.

I dont go with this ” its aways been like this” attitude. Some seem to have been institutionised and accepting of the crap way they treat our club. The BBC is a public service and being unbiased is written into its constitution. Sky sports now also misrepresenting what Ronny said. Time Celtic came out strong against this damaging nonsense.

It was indeed a pleasure to meet all you guys and reinforce my long held opinion of the generosity of my fellow Tims.In particular Hamiltontim who went out of his way to organise tickets for myself and my brood to attend the Hamilton game.

This for someone who is not known for his unbridled support of some issues which many of you hold dear.

    And then some.

Had a fair number of visits to “The Dolphin” in Partick where Stephen proved to be a generous host.

Had a number of chats there with a councillor for East Dunbartonshire whose pal, after a short while ,came to the strange conclusion that ,to quote….”You`re a Tory.”

    Great lads all.

    Glasgow was marvellous.

My brood loved it and hope to return.

I think it will be a hard shift tomorrow against the sheep without Broonie and we will do well to get the three points. I am looking forward to the game in what will be a big week for the hoops once the Aberdeen game is over we need to prepare for the Molde game which is a must win if we hope to finish in the top two in our Europa league group. So good luck to the Bhoys . Have to disagree. Just because it’s not as blatant doesn’t make it any less palatable. Normally I wouldn’t be in favour of bans but I do think they work in the sense that it would make them think twice. The alternative is to continue to lye down like a carpet and then complain when you are walked on. The BBC reporting of all things Celtic recently is agenda driven and something needs to be done to highlight the bias. Look at the contrast in reporting all things Sevco where there really is a story and it doesn’t solely fall within the sports genre.

With regards to Sky again “you pays your money”. I just cannot understand for the life of me why Celtic supporters, out of choice, continue to contribute to Organisations that then helps to pay (very well) the Tanners and MC Canns of this world to rubbish our club.

Then again everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Unison have a tax credit calculation on their website

Most working families will lose over £1500 per year

This isnt the so called lazy , in work poverty in the Uk is shocking

  20. I of course love it when someone at Celtic points out the glaringly obvious.

I haven’t seen the BBC report but I can confirm that their sports department is awash with Huns.

    But you knew that right?

Just like you know wot land is an institutionally racist society.

Now then. Any normal football club would rally behind the managers message.

But those of you hoping for this are of course hoping in vein.

Celtic, as ever, will do and say precisely nothing.

    Why?

Because they want it to be like this. They want you at the back of the bus.

They think it means they get more money.

Spot on. He knows how he wants us to play. It will take time to transition to that, and he will know who can and can’t be a part of that. There will be a few bumps on the road, but let’s not panic any time we have a bad result.

  22. Listening to Radio Scotland is quite humorous as they slow dance around Aberdeen’s decline. What could have went wrong? they were doing so well?

This Europe is the benchmark nonsense is totally contrived to beat up our Manager

I dont recall that being the case when the Cardigan had a blank chequebook of stolen money in the 90’s with Celtic out of the picture and hours away from going bust,

I do recall the utter humiliation the died club suffered under his stewardship, but the only show in town at that time was 9 in a row! with the same sporting integrity as winning the Tor de France on a motorbike

Sadly some of our own fans now been duped and have turned on Ronnie.Shame on them.

RD’s domestic record is beyond criticism at this moment in time. His European record is no better or worse than our last manager at the same stage of his career.

Its a witchhunt , pure and simple.
