The headlines screamed today of secret meetings between Sevco owner, Charles Green, and SPL chairmen, as Green attempted to convince them to change direction and vote Sevco into the SPL. Jim Spence reported exactly the same on the BBC at the weekend, crucially adding how little impact the pleas had and that the SPL vote was certain to go against Sevco.
‘News’ that three clubs were prepared to back Green is just another way of reporting that at least eight clubs will vote against. A suggestion (which came from Kilmarnock) that SPL clubs vote in secret ballot instead of an open show of hands is laughable and will be dismissed.
Tomorrow’s SPL meeting will be a lot less significant than today’s Scottish Football League meeting. More on this later.

If you’re claim is that PL, Wilson and Quin are fans and not supporters because they don’t put money into the club then by the same logic Burns, McStay and Lennon wouldn’t be considered ‘supporters’.
Our support takes many shapes and forms.

It only seems that way due to the simmering feud between two of our posters from your (out)back-yard!

If the van driver got in a fight he’d get licked!
I hope ole Bomber Brown reads out his textys.
The ice cream van driver was found dead on the floor of the van – covered in raspberry sauce, hundreds and thousands, and chocolate sprinkles.

On the whole I have agreed with your posts over the years. I think you are way wrong this time around. I dont think the other clubs would have been as vociferous in their opposition to a parachute if Celtic had made a statement to that fact. Aligning with Celtic in Scotland is not a vote winner.
From Brian Quinn getting irritated by Martin O´Neill on the phone over budgets around the time of the Juninhio EBT to his appointment to the UEFA . the financial board last week, the removal of Smith and Peat and Dallas at the SFA while meekly accepting Campbell Ogilvie procession while allowing Sir Moonbeams enough time to commit financial suicide I think our board has played a blinder.
If the huns have to reapply to Scottish football I am going to get busy with making the statues of Fergus Mc Cann (who relaised he needed billionaires), Dermot Desmond, Peter Lawwell, John Reid (For goodness sake ;-) ) and Neil Lennon
If it comes off me and you got it wrong.
Hail Hail
I suspect there will be a show of hands prior to any official ballot thus allowing the Kilmarnocks to save their skin! Anything other than a unanimous decision will come as a shock to me! Oh obviously there will be a yes from the corpse that was RFC!

Bomber approached the van looking for Oyster Finance!
And they buried him on sundae!
All together now ..
“We want Turnbull for our leader…… cos hes big and tough and strong!”

Ole jabba was there at an ice cream van – getting the scoop
If a club chairman can state “the game is corrupt”, is this not the cue for eufa to get involved, which we have desired from day one? Incidentally IMHO Thems will NOT be playing anywhere nthis coming season.

Awe_Naw:
I thought both Smith and Peat resigned and Celtic played no part in the removal of Dallas.
With all this talk about Sky pulling out much needed finance from football because of the supposed lack of quality, anyone with any business acumen would think that investing more into the product and shrewd marketing would be the way forward.
Giving the clubs more money, not less, to invest in improvements on/around the park – would ipso facto create a better product, more appealing to spectators and sponsors alike – speculate to accumulate.
And Sky in not the only show in town. Football CEOs on big money should, once this marketable product has been cleaned up and shown to be true to its Corinthian ethos, earn their paychecks by courting other sources of marketing and sponsorship.
Example: the on-line marketplace is global, largely untapped and technologically proven and viable. There are many thousands who for very valid reasons, cannot support their team in person.
Innovative CEOs required.
Sorry Peat retired on full pension, not sure what severence package Smith got as he went home to look after his elderly parents.
For the life of me I still can’t understand why there are votes at all, SFL or SPL clubs.
The rules are clear.
Spartans are in a much more prepared state for direct entry to the SFL than Sevco. They have accounts, a squad, an asbestos-free ground, have not taken the SFA to court recently and are not claiming the football heritage of a football club that played ineligible players for more than a decade, thereby cheating everyone at home and in Europe.
Is there to be a vote on Spartans coming into the league set-up? No. So why is there a vote on Sevco? How has it come to this?

Happy birthday to CQNs resident weatherman Jobo Baldie and also his dear ole mum, mind have a great day Jobo/mum/family
These posts about ice cream vans seem a bit flaky to me.
Ole Patti Smith’s latest has just landed on my desk. It’s called “Banga”. Very sweet of her to name it after Mo, but you’d’ve thought she would have taken the trouble to spell it correctly.
Awe_Naw, one other wee incentive for the other clubs to vote the hun out – it broke, or will break – the Old Firm hegemony.
Sorry to leave all this ice-cream van banter, I’m a wafer a pee!
A question about Charities
I know Tims are second to none, in respect to philanthropy and giving to charitable causes.
Out of curiosity do you guys have any favourite charities, or do you donate as needed by one off drives?
I support (regularly) APHEDA and UNICEF on an ad hoc basis.
You guys?
Always have a snigger when you hear about ‘secret’ meetings , apparently upto 3 ‘secret’ meetings now …….it is like the Chico Young sketch on Only An Excuse, ‘I am at a secret location with the latest ….XYZ ‘, only for the camera to pan out and he is usualy standing outside Ipox or the SECC.
Seems to me that we have the next 2 weeks to clean up the game and ensure that the rules are correctly applied.
The vacum of leadership from the SFA and SPL is truly shocking and the quality and lack of professional stds, exemplified by the document released last week for dicussion with the SFL, which is an embarassment in extremis.
Now is the time for some leadership from the blazers and the only guy that can provide this is Regan. Doncaster is toast , Regan may join him soon if he does not stand up to the plate. Unless, CO is feeding Regan ‘secrets’ about Dignity to save his own skin then the timing is right for CO to walk and to let someone else oversee the merger of the leagues…. Regan can start to clean out the stables ……..
It seems almost inevitable that SFA office bear(er)s colluded to keep the Dignity show on the road for years and this will come out , so best to get a move on and re-shape the organisation now, and get those individuals responsible out of the SFA now.

Nectar of the gods in a beautifully crafted and signed bottle, I am blessed that I receive one on every birthday, Christmas and anniversary!
Trust me, anyone who likes a good malt would be over the proverbial moon to receive a gift of this wonderful whisky!
Oh, and by the way, I can quite categorically state that I am not receiving an EBT or any other form of inducement from this company!

I was speaking to a smiling one of them. I asked why so happy! Convinced they will be in SPL next season he was. Why?
He was certain Bank of Scotland have called in clubs in SPL who are in debt to them and asked how they are going to pay of their debts?
If the SPL and SFA are pushing this then there will be a reckoning!
Your SPL solvent and SPL(insolvent abuse) may need to be expedited.

If I may. What do you understand to be the justification for the votes this week? Why are we having votes?

there is no way their will be any secret ballot
the teams that vote no will not want to hide the fact they voted for integrity from their fans.
plus if it was a secret ballot some fans would maybe boycott a club that said no by mistake.
the msm will try every scare story to assist newco
the 3 clubs who will say yes IMHO
killie, motherwell and newco
hope the cst etc keep their word and boycott evey club that says yes
celtic fans and a most other spl would make sure killie and well would go to the wall
rugby park and fir park would be like ghost towns and their own fans could then impliment change at their own clubs
some people will be shocked to why i would want an spl club to go bust ?
but when you support the breaking of rules and ignore your own fans you get your just desserts
