  1. Think this game is screaming out fro Kris Commons. A wee bit of control, guile and ability with a dead ball. Ki, Sammi or Broonie….any one from three would do.

  2. If the pitch and conditions don’t suit a player then he should be punted. These guys are paid a king’s ransom to play football.

    HT St Mirren 0-0 Celtic

Competitive first half. The Bhoys moved the ball around very well until Lenny switched things around to try and get Forrest into the game. After that, we lost some control of the game but have never loooked under any real threat. Back 4 look solid, Broonie had an excellent spell wide right and Ki has done well in the middle. Vicor had a strong first 20 mins then was quiet. Both Sammy and Hooper working well up front. Our final ball into the front two has been poor. Hooper tested the keeper from 30 yds with a tremendous effort but apart from that we have not looked like scoring. The swirling wind looks like it is causing problems. Can’t see Lenny changing anything at HT. Keep up the work rate and we will get a goal. Would be good to see Izzy get a run to give us something down the left and allow Ledley to push into midfield. Forrest will probably need to be withdrawn as he doesn’t look fully fit.

  4. Tom. Dont see how we can waste 2/3 of the game playing sammi in a position that he does no good

Agree drop Ki. Put stokes or commons on now and drop sammi back to where he does damage

    sums it up for me

do you recall last season? Think youre confusing St. Mirren

    with a football team

  6. Listening to an episode of ‘Goodbye, Mr Chips’ during the interval.

Scratch that, it’s a heartfelt BBC farewell to Davie Weir.

  7. No goals yet, but not to worry.

celtic will put one away early doors second half and the floodgates will open.

Some dig from Hoops from the half-way line. Jamie Forrest looking fantastic today, making room for some great crosses.

heard some newspaper and radio reports that Jellyfish ain’t playing today and he’s away for 8 mill. Nonsense. Hooper is thrice the player he is yet is supposedly only worth 6 mill to a second tier team yet Jellylegs is worth 8 mill and is to go to a premiership side. Half his goals or more are from penalties and for the majority of this season he’s been absolute garbage.

The huns will be lucky to get 6 mill for him, in fact I reckon Whytey would be happy to recoup the 4 mill or so they paid for him.

  8. Eyes Wide Open on

Think we are playing too far away from each other causing stray or long ball passes and with wind like that they are going everywhere but their target.

We need to get the ball down and start passing to eachother along the carpet

  9. I thought we started well, kept possession and found space wide but Cha’s delivery into the box leaves a lot to be desired. St Mirren got a wee lift from somewhere and with the sun on their backs started to put it about a bit, creating a couple of chances. However wee James switching sides and exploiting the spaces Cha had early on had us back on top before half time. I wouldn’t change it for the second half, a team talk from Lenny should be enough.

Tough game – St Mirren sticking close to our players and working their socks off. Will they tire?

    Aye,there`s the rub

    Let`s hope so.

    I expect so.

  11. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!! Tick Tock !! on

Need to stop passing the ball across the park, and start putting them under pressure….

    “he’s like Walter Smith………blah, blah…………..A brief encounter…………blah blah….ranjurs will never die………”

The RAF Flypast today at Asbestox will be a fitting tribute, the massed ranks of Beefeaters with hats akimbo, the parade old paras and the Drumnadroookit Pipe Bond will all help create that unique atmosphere at that singular scoddish stadium…….blah blah…..

Look forward to Davie’s dour tones gracing Shortbread at the earliest opportunity………..

  13. Btw if we win will be back on here claiming never a doubt

  15. DUSHANBE BHILLY BHOY on

Ahem Saltires….what was that you wuz saying about Ki?

Enjoyed your post about Jimmy McG earlier. Those were the days when we played with proper leather footballs. Not these these nancy footballs, which are so light, that they circumvent the moon before ending up in the back of net.

    Bournesouprecipe.

    Wrong player selection ?

Well with this dysfunctional formation,we should still be able to huff & puff our way to a narrow win..

However, with the players at our disposal,we should be handing out skelpings as a routine..

    Sort out the First XI…

  17. Look

  18. Tom McLaughlin on

St Mirren are playing to their strengths under a decent manager.

We are facing a hard battle for 3 points away from home on a tight and bumpy pitch. Twas ever thus.

Too many people seem to think if we’re not 3 or 4 up at half-time, it’s all doom and gloom.

I trust Lenny to have learned a thing or two from that first-half and to make changes.

    We’ll win this.

    1-0 will do me now.

  19. I read a comment on the Daily Ranger website today. On an article about Mervin Celik signing –

    “Welcome to Glasgow Rangers Melvin.

    A truly ALL INCLUSIVE CLUB”.

Except Scottish Catholics and Irish i take it?

    Couldn’t make it up.

  20. The Singing Detective

    Wrong.

You don’t turn up there and win, as the first half and Ragers result showed.

We’ll win – narrowly as we usually do at this venue.
