Strachan lessons as Milan looms

1655

Neil Lennon will begin to get his players back at Lennoxtown tomorrow after, what for most of the first team, has been a two week international break.  For many of the established players, he’ll be hoping for a clean bill of health, but with trips to Tynecastle and Milan ahead, the manager will be keen to spend time with Teemu Pukki.

Teemu played 92 minutes for Finland in Tbilisi last night so will get little time on the training fields before Celtic’s next two games.  Tynecastle itself may provide the most effective training opportunity ahead of Wednesday’s game at the San Siro.

Delighted for Gordon Strachan, who has already caused an unlikely upturn in Scotland’s fortunes.  He is a better coach and tactician than he ever got credit for.  His Key Performance Indicators (winning leagues, knock out stages of the Champions League) were achieved in spades, but there was a soft underbelly which always seemed to undermine progress.  Curiously, his Celtic team went 15 months without keeping a clean sheet away from home in all competitions, despite winning the league in both seasons this run spanned.

The one game during this period of note was the 1-0 defeat to Milan in the Champions League knock out stage; the only game Celtic completed 90 minutes without conceding.  If Neil Lennon can replicate this achievement he stands an excellent chance of a second successive memorable Champions League campaign.

Come on guy’s n gals I only need another 71 to make the five hundred mark. It’s free, it’s brilliant, the huns hate it, you can wind them up in the most subtle way possible every time your phone rings. Call yourself and leave your phone on your desk, it’s truly worth getting it to get right up the hun.

Matias Silvestre is the latest AC Milan defender to be sidelined with a knee problem after undergoing keyhole surgery on his right knee on Thursday. The Boca Juniors graduate is the latest in a long line of defensive injury woes for the Rossoneri and joins Daniele Bonera, Ignazio Abate and Mattia De Sciglio on the sidelines.

The Argentine had been dealing with a meniscus problem to his right knee, and after it was deemed that therapy was not aiding in his recovery, opted for surgery to correct the problem. The centre back in currently on loan from local rivals Inter and has yet to feature in a first team game, but with the absentee list in defence growing this latest setback will test the Rossoneri’s depth.

Silvestre made 20 appearances in all compeitions for Inter last season.

Neganon, I just despair in the silence from our club.

Read my post at 23.46 in reply to Gedhed7.

Celtic could and should have killed this immediately and still could. A simple non aggressive statement stating the fact that the club coming up will be treated as a new club, as is correct in the law would have stopped all this anti club venom we see on Celtic forums. It’s time our club grew some balls and said enough is enough. Do they prefer to pacify the hun or alienate their / our own support.

If Celtic had led the other clubs would have followed and this daily pot of lies and deceit would have meant nothing.

    Where is our leadership?

    —–

Not alone amigo. There a lot of anomalies, especially here on CQN,,,eg the desire of some to the defend the Celtic Board and denigrate elements of the Celtic Support in quite venomous language.

It can be very flamin depressing. Then you read the same folks here defend anything that America has dictated as truth since WWII, and wonder what on earth is going on.

As a moonhowler, I defend my right to say that Bill Hicks actually used his TV authority of the time to turn up and film the “Waco Disaster”.

His footage clearly showed tanks moving in and firing flames in the building at both right and left doorways.

His footage was on youtube for some time, but is gone now, as is he.

History re-written by the victors again?

The truth only exists amongst ourselves, and while some muppets make a joke of their own arrogance on the subject, the rest of us cry and despair – especially when said muppets want their thinking to dominate the Celtic Support.

It’s not about “conspiracy theory” nuts, or “moonhowling” nutters.

It’s simply about maintaining the freedom and the ability to question what we are told to think.

On that point, some so-called CQNers should be hanging their heads in shame – but then, this won’t stop them,as nothing has before. An odd minority, 100 times worse than KevJungle, and with a loud voice. We’re talking about the lives of children dying 20 times a minute. British citizens both too stressed and too scared to demonstrate against war. Demonstrations against war being filmed and documented by the Police. The population being harasssed and intimidated in every area of their lives/ our lives. Control being firmly established. And on that last sentence, the strange ones come in, and defend their own personal right to wealth.

CQN is in danger of being ruined by this – and NOT for the reasons SFTB has been saying. His target has been on the wrong people.

You talk brilliant sense, but you aren’t always right imo. There’s a far bigger danger to what we stand for than feckin KevJ. Would be good to see you tackle the posts on here fearlessly as ever, that don’t come from KevJ and Kojo. For me, more important than ever that you do so.

A Brilliant post, a very powerful one as well.

I think Neils Lions are going to win in Milan next week as well. Even a point there would be further proof we are witnessing a Legend taking his place at the TOP TABLE and If he was to Win the CL, I wonder if he’d place it @ 111?

Nope, He’d put it in the Centre because it would mean the whole Club was pulling in the direction Neil wants it to go. Together.

  19. Mags,

Shared the Bill Hicks Waco video everywhere a few years ago – before I had the software to download it …gone…..

A simple wee video like that would open up some of the half closed soporific eyes of our generation in the Celtic Support – but alas, it seems we will be constantly screaming sense at a wall of ThomtheTim Meeja loving oddballs types. It pushes me beyond despair. Surely when we’re talking to a group who have seen media lies at its best, then awareness should follow fairly quickly. But no, we’ve still got muppets here today laughing at the DR and then commending America on her achievements. I admire your resilience on these things. I’m giving the feck up >:((((

    Amazing huh?

Do you know that a mirror a simple mirror left by Apollo 11 allows lasers to measure the earth moon distance accurately and there is measured proof that the earth moon distance is changing at a rate some theorists are using to show that the universal gravitational constant is changing because the speed of light may be changing.

    _______________________

I just got the significance of that although I read it earlier. Jim Spence said something on the lines of ‘well, some people say the club that died’

I forget the exact words but he was saying what some people said not what he believed.

Of course there is no bigger some people in respect of Rangers than Walter Smith and if he said it (and he did) then Spence was not in breach of trust guidelines as he was in effect quoting rather than stating.

    Well it wisnae me…..

But apart from questions about exactly when that era of principles was, it was encouraging to hear someone on their side speaking like a Tim.
