Anyone can win when you are miles ahead and there is no pressure on, but winning when you can feel an opponent’s breath on your neck is far more challenging. Celtic dealt admirably with the pressure on Saturday.
If anything, the wind was worse than at Ibrox six days earlier. Playing against the breeze in the first half, Celtic struggled. We knew how much was on the line at the interval. These players – and manager – have been over the course before, however, and were able to cope with the situation.
Instead of containing emotions after his game in Dingwall yesterday, Phillipe Clement betrayed his own anxieties by leaving the pitch without shaking hands with Ross County manager, Don Cowie. It’s not that Clement is rude, the defeat was just too much for him to process his emotions appropriately. That is a perfect example of what happens when you are struggling to cope with pressure.
In his post-match interview, Clement had a ‘Don’t mention the War’ moment, saying that during the week, “everyone was busy with things outside of football, in the club”. It is Clement’s job to make sure his players focus is exclusively on the football. If this was not the case, it is his fault. I can’t believe he said this on TV, the man’s mouth ran away with him, high on an adrenaline cocktail.
There is still a long way to go, so no celebrations here, but you should be encouraged by Clement’s very obvious reactions to stress.

If they wanted, could the SPFL send us to Tynecastle again in the post-split fixtures?
Just curious. As we are able to play some teams 3 times at their ground are we not? Why couldn’t this be Hearts. Not that I’d want that. Just wondering if it’s possible.
Don’t get how they can say this is all done by computer, when us and the Huns get 2 home and 2 away with each other, as do Hearts and Hibs as far as I’m aware.
They also sort it so that we don’t have a title decider against Sevco. How is that done by computer? It is programmed by humans with a load of caveats put into it before it’s allowed to spit out the fixtures.
It is definitely not an automated process.

If Celtic get sent to Tynecastle for a 3rd time there will be an uproar and rightly so, we have been there twice already ,if that is the logic we could go to Ibrox again, we will go to Paisley and Kilmarnock with Sevco Hearts and Dundee at home.
Remember not long ago who could have went 3 points clear of Sevco, went to Tyncastle got beat gave them advantage back again ,so I’m for one ain’t shouting my mouth off about winning the league,I hope we do .

We’ve already played Dundee at home twice 7-0, 3-0 so the next game against them will be away unless Dundee for some reason have an imbalance in the total home / away games already played ?

But if we drop Lundstram, and I’m assuming no Barisic, then who are we playing in midfield? Dowell and Raskin? Because Sterling may have to play LB. Or Robbie Fraser? It’s a complete mess. Suppose we could drop Lawrence back to play alongside Raskin and have Cantwell ahead, but that gives me the fear too. I’d actually be more up for starting McKinnon in the midfield, at least we know we would get a shift.

What a great weekend of sport and results to savour at Celtic park, the Aviva, Aintree, the Masters and yes Dingwall, who would believe. The Hoops going nicely now but still a lot to do. Good goals and three points on Saturday and Reo continues improve with every game, Kyogo on the scoresheet. There is no justification for delaying confirmation of fixtures.
Entirely reasonable to conclude the “computer” is awaiting the outcome of Dundee’s previously postponed home game.
If so, reasonable question is “why?”
For what it is worth …. I can just about live with Sly Sports selecting times across a weekend (Fri-Sun) to televise a live game …. once they have been given the fixture schedule for weeks 34 to 38 by the SPFL.
But a broadcaster influencing what week a particularly fixture is played?
Totally impugns the integrity of that league.
PS – My baseless prediction ….. if Sevco beat Dundee
34 – Kilmarnock (a)
35 – Hearts (h)
36 – Sevco (h)
37 – St Mirren (a)
38 – Dundee (h)
If they don’t beat Dundee – our home fixtures against Sevco and Hearts will be flipped.

Rangers* have several players who are one booking away from a ban. They have had only one player booked in their last two fixtures, one of those being the famously feisty Glasgow Derby🤔. Let’s see if this is the new version of the no penalties campaign from the refs.

There is no genuine football reason for the fixtures to be delayed …. Sky already know their English games so what’s the problem.
From my fag packet calcs Huns could well be back at Dundee , so I can only generously conclude the fixtures are being delayed to avoid the Hun wrecking Dens Park.
