The Celtic Story in 2088 will write about this time

804

When someone writes the Celtic Story on our 200th anniversary there will be a page about when The Thai Tims came to Glasgow.  It’s a part of the Celtic Story which reaches from 1888 to the present day, and, if we do our job as Celtic fans well, will ensure the character of the club retains a distinct and generous flavour.

The Thai Tims, formally the Good Child Foundation, arrive from Thailand next month and will perform at the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, on Thursday 10 May, tickets are £12 and £6 for kids.  If you have enjoyed them on YouTube, and I know you have…. buy a couple of tickets here or call 08444 77 1000 and get along before they’ve sold out.

You can also support the Good Child Foundation by contributing to the fundraising exercise via their Everyclick page.

Sorry I didn’t get back to you yesterday on the question about whether not registering players correctly was cheating.  Busy, busy.  Will get to it as soon as I can – no answering this question early, that’s cheating.

Issue 7 of CQN Magazine is out now! Go to the dedicated magazine site here to read it properly (which you’ll not be able to do below).

Thanks to everyone who has bought a hard copies of the magazine, it looks like the sold out sign will go up again.  Order your copy for delivery by clicking on the link below for news and views from Celtic supporters.

The Wolftone in Letterkenny is probably the best bar in Donegal.

It might be a bit boisterous for your old man – if you arrive extra early it could help.

    One question which has not been answered is this;

Who lifted Blantyre Tim over the turnstyle back in the day?

    Which leads me to another question;

    How is his back?

The Dundee game in 88 I was one of the first on the track side when we spewed out of the Celtic end, just a kid myself and remember the police closed the jungle and crushed us all in there. We had arrived early for once and there was tons of room in the jungle. Police still refused to let us in the jungle, if the fans didn’t spill onto the pitch that day, I think it was before the game had even started then God knows what might of happened.

I disagree with your interpretation. Peter Lawwell did not say nor can you interpret what he said to mean that he would vote with rfc (ia) to prevent change. He is merely stating a fact both we and they do bring a lot to the game. Whether we agree about them it is immaterial because what they do bring is money to other ten and that unfortunately is fact.

Peter Lawwell is being coy here, he is recognising what they bring, whilst trying to get the other ten to include us in their discussions. If they invited us to the table, he then may be able to influence them on what punishment should be meted out to them for their years of cheating.

Indeed, Peter Lawwell has stated we would be open to change by saying we would be in favour of a fourteen league team.

By uttering the words mate that we and they are about to jump into bed together, metaphorically speaking is not a good inference in my opinion.

I am hear that Peter Lawwell has been doing his homework and when the time is right he will not shoot and miss them or the establishment.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

    Hmm…

Exactly what the leaflet I was given says.

However as my face thawed, the anxiety grew and I found myself pacing up and down looking over at McDonalds with new levels of unrequited love.

I may have had a wee bit of wine, but you’re right, enough now.

  13. WHAT EXACTLY IS HAPPENING!?

At the moment I do not know. I’m not going to get involved in whataboutery I will wait until I have actual solid reliable evidence before I accuse Mr Desmond or Celtic FC or China or Ireland or any wrong doing. All I know is that I can smell a rat a mile off in this who sordid web of deceit, lies and maybe backhanders too.

Be safe that I’m going to see this through to the end. Celtic, if they are involved in this potential alliance between the Irish Republic and China will struggle to ever recover. Remember bears…. The Boyne wasn’t won in a day. More digging for me tomorrow. FACT!

Also, I hear the fuds are going to be singing it en masse @ the midden on Sunday…it doesn’t get any better than this! HH!

  15. Today in the morning I read interesting posts about Gorecki’s Symphony No 3 and “The Song of Sorrowful Songs”

I agree that this is one of the most stunning works in the music.

This article from The Guardian might be interesting reading for some of you.

  16. From RM:

‘”We Don’t Do Walking Away” to be played at ibrox

INTERNET hit Wee Wullie Bluenose is set to boost the Rangers Fans Fighting Fund as his YouTube sensation is played at Ibrox.

With nearly 80,000 hits on YouTube already, his self written version of “We Don’t Do Walking Away” is now available for download for Rangers fans.

And with the song set to be played at Ibrox this Sunday ahead of the Old Firm clash the Fighting Fund could be set for another boost.’

Some of you might remember a link I put up a while back from my mate’s site. He’s put together a We Don’t Do Walking Away certificate.

Feel free to print it out, sign it, give it to a friend etc. OR EVEN BETTER…. Print it on ‘photo’ paper (many) and sell them for a quid or so.. AS LONG AS YOU DONATE THE MONEY TO THE RFFF.

    Cheers folks”

  19. Could he not play it live at half time? They could wheel the couch out and raffle off the wee teddy bears for even more money. RFCIA PR machine doing some outstanding work.

  20. Just read CTC 2. Were I a bookie, I would be laying heavy odds on that this is a spoof by a Tim. Not only that but a Tim from among the CQN fraternity.

  21. Wee Wullie is classic…when I first saw it I thought it was almost sinister, mebbe a wind-up by one of our own;then the penny dropped & I realised it was for real & that THEY really are clinically nutz. And the idea that it will be on a massive tannoy @ the midden is almost too good to be true. Apart from ALL the usual reasons, wtf is wrong with them? A giant rubber room is what they need. Bounce in that ya bams! HH!

Looks like you don’t do personal hygene either.

  23. One of their forums is discussing the embarrassment and ridicule they will face if the song is really played there on Sunday. Heehee. This really has been a special day.

  24. The video of don’t do walking away and the blog (?) that is the celtic tax case are like the contestants that get their 5 minutes on X factor and the talent show.

Either they have no friends or family who are willing to tell them the truth, that they are rubbish or they have medical problems, or they are just ‘at it’.

These must be celtic fans at it!

Ha, ha. Happy memories. Jumpers, doublers, and ‘spinners’ when the turnstile broke, and the queue behind realised.

I had the same vocational experience between ‘85 & ‘87. Forget the two auld ghuys who used to take in the cash – whit aboot the scary lookin guy with the suit who used to go round (after you had closed up) and read the turnstile meters.

  26. Evening all,

For those who didn’t catch some earlier posts I stuck up some pictures of Glasgow in the sun and on St Patrick’s day.

Thanks for the emails and messages from those who had a swatch.

They aren’t as good but what is after about twelve pints !!

Anyway for those who haven’t been in this magnificent city you may see signs of change.
