The Celtic Story in 2088 will write about this time

804

When someone writes the Celtic Story on our 200th anniversary there will be a page about when The Thai Tims came to Glasgow.  It’s a part of the Celtic Story which reaches from 1888 to the present day, and, if we do our job as Celtic fans well, will ensure the character of the club retains a distinct and generous flavour.

The Thai Tims, formally the Good Child Foundation, arrive from Thailand next month and will perform at the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, on Thursday 10 May, tickets are £12 and £6 for kids.  If you have enjoyed them on YouTube, and I know you have…. buy a couple of tickets here or call 08444 77 1000 and get along before they’ve sold out.

You can also support the Good Child Foundation by contributing to the fundraising exercise via their Everyclick page.

Sorry I didn’t get back to you yesterday on the question about whether not registering players correctly was cheating.  Busy, busy.  Will get to it as soon as I can – no answering this question early, that’s cheating.

Sounds like a great weekend ahead. I’m starting a new job on Monday so the celebrations (hopefully) will be low key for myself.

I will be watching it in the Pint on Punt in St.Kilda.

Very sad news earlier in the week with the passing on Jim Stynes. I never realised that my fellow Irishman was loved so much by the Ozzie’s until this week. It’s fairly unprecedented in any country for a state funeral to be offered to somebody who grew up in another country. RIP Jim

I remember we signed Lubo roughly the same time Rangers signed Colin Hendry. Though they were the same age, the press at the time was very polarized. It was along the lines of ‘Gers land Captain Braveheart’, and ‘Celtic sign unknown hasbeen’. Two years later, Hendry was a busted flush, and Lubo had become one of our club’s great footballing icons. To this day he wasn’t fully recognized as the great footballer he was by the MSM.

A wee recommendo from abroad to those heading to the game.

    Come Sunday,let`s celebrate ourselves.

    Celebrate our family.

Commemorate our forefathers, whose struggle has been so much harder than ours.

The result? The battle? A mere bagatelle.

The war is ours for the winning.

God willing, the Board will determine the conditions of the armistice.

    They`d better.

Good morning fellow Celts from the 06:31 to Waterloo

A glorious morning here and a great way to start the flag winning weekend…

If my club were involved in half of the stuff huns are being accused of. I would want nothing more to do with them…seriously!

I wonder how many of those ‘good’ Rankers fans we keep hearing about on here have decided to disown their team?

Not many, is my guess and every one of us knows why .. Especially the apologists!

Those of us who remember their pitch invasions and mass terracing fights of the 70’s know what is going to happen at iPox on Sunday

They are,to a man, the scum of the earth.

    Stay safe

Morning all from gay Paree, lovely morning here and sunshine is the forecast for this weekend (21C max).

Doubt very much that the title party will be this Sunday.

Killie have 7 players out, so even McCall won’t be able to prevent his team from winning tomorrow. That will, of course, probably put his beloved rANGERs into third spot by Sunday evening.

Title party will be delayed a week until next home match vs Killie.

    What’s not to like?

Be careful out there, fellow Tims, there are a lot of hurting threadbares out there.

    Hail Hail

  13. Morning,

I see the Loonies at RST seem to think that because Duff&Duffer entertain them they are now a force in Scottish Football.

Demanding a meeting with Doncaster and that the SPL suspend their investigation.

Oh! and to show how we are ‘One Nation’ they are stating any investigation will be biased because the solicitors being used are also the ones employed by Celtic.

    Celtic, Destroy them on Sunday!

  14. I just heard a good Celtic man has passed on…

R.I.P. Hughie McNee,well known in LA Celtic supporters clubs.

I knew the man before he emigrated…when he and ma Da would go on the first CSC bus from the Murray pub in East Kilbride…

    R.I.P. Wee Hughie.

    HH

  15. Stuart McCall will make sure they win tomorrow. Not for the good of Motherwell, but to ensure his beloved rangers are not humiliated on Sunday.

I am going to be laughing all day today, pure comedy gold

  17. Reading the blue knight this morning regarding Ticketus and if they win the court case today they will be the biggest creditor for a CVA.

Ticketus whole argument is that they did not loan money but purchased season tickets.

So how are they all of a sudden a creditor?

    Tom English in today’s Hootsman:

“SO THE new £60m SPL deal with Sky is predicated on both Old Firm clubs remaining in the top flight. We always assumed it would be, but confirmation came out of Celtic yesterday that this, indeed, is the case.”

Can anybody give me a link to the Celtic statement?

    Merci beaucoup!

  20. Anybody else think wee wullie (we don’t do walking away) could be a character

straight out of only an excuse, he’s hilarious, hehe.

  21. The most naturally gifted player I have ever seen; despite all those wonderful gifts Lubo bestowed on us, I still don’t know whether he was left or right footed. He seemed to be so completely natural on either foot.

He’s the kind of player I’d pay to watch even in a dull goalless draw.

He truly turned football into an art form.

If you are thinking of heading for the pub after work this Friday, remember Niamh Curry. £5 could mean the difference between…… well you know.

For every goal that Celtic score at Ibrox on Sunday I will donate £10 and if we win the league I will double it.

  23. Albertz talking absolute p1sh in the papers that Sunday will never compare to rangers winning the league at our place in 1999.

He is right of course, in 1999 the rangers players all had two contracts and rangers were at the height of their financial doping.

There can be no comparison with Celtic at all.

    HH

  24. Poor old Rangers eh never our fault.

It was Chelsea fans, now it was we received poor advice on 2 countracts and regarding taxcase.

Now the tv deal must guarantee 4 games between both clubs, this means the SPL/SFA will not decide their fate until after the split so the poor wee Rangers don’t get relegated.

I have noticed on another site a few boys have stated if they do not get the appropriate punishment then they are finished with Scottish Football, this comes from non OF supporters.

Scottish Football is bent and it only favours 1 team and for that reason if the appropriate punishment isn’t dished out, I will also not be back spending my hard earned cash.

I have never heard the likes of this in all my life, you can’t demote the Rangers because of the tv deal.

Only in this corrupt country would you hear the likes of this, cheating is alowed.
