The Celtic Story in 2088 will write about this time

804

When someone writes the Celtic Story on our 200th anniversary there will be a page about when The Thai Tims came to Glasgow.  It’s a part of the Celtic Story which reaches from 1888 to the present day, and, if we do our job as Celtic fans well, will ensure the character of the club retains a distinct and generous flavour.

The Thai Tims, formally the Good Child Foundation, arrive from Thailand next month and will perform at the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, on Thursday 10 May, tickets are £12 and £6 for kids.  If you have enjoyed them on YouTube, and I know you have…. buy a couple of tickets here or call 08444 77 1000 and get along before they’ve sold out.

You can also support the Good Child Foundation by contributing to the fundraising exercise via their Everyclick page.

Sorry I didn’t get back to you yesterday on the question about whether not registering players correctly was cheating.  Busy, busy.  Will get to it as soon as I can – no answering this question early, that’s cheating.

Issue 7 of CQN Magazine is out now! Go to the dedicated magazine site here to read it properly (which you’ll not be able to do below).

Thanks to everyone who has bought a hard copies of the magazine, it looks like the sold out sign will go up again.  Order your copy for delivery by clicking on the link below for news and views from Celtic supporters.

Anyone else think PL played his card too early yesterday? It came out like a structure bargaining tool for keeping existing voting rules.Just think he would have been better saying” we’ll wait and see what they have to say” rather than effectively suggesting a change. Even if we do have a change, it wont be enough for them and they will want more and more. They dont want us but they want our money, best outcome we have is another league in a more equal environment

  2. If they want 4 Celtic v TFOD games why can’t they just create a competition based simply on that. That will satisfy the SKY deal and allow competition in the league?

  4. 26 mins. into Fergus’s talk, he diplomatically tells whomsoever is listening that others did build barricades, nasty agenda reinforced barricades… it was not all paranoia; it never was.

  5. Lubo is probably the most talented footballer I’ve seen at Celtic. Even Henrik wasn’t close in terms of pure ability!

  6. Paul,

the “Gang of Ten” remind me of a group of greedy spoilt children meeting secretly, without their father, to discuss how best to divvy up their mother’s legacy whilst she is still alive (albeit on a ventilator and at death’s door).

It’s immoral and it’s no surprise that Michael Johnston is the ring leader, a failed chairman presiding over a club that is technically bust. Johnston and Yorkston trying to dictate to PL and DD is like Alex Salmond telling Barack Obama how to run the US economy.

It is frustrating in the extreme that Celtic are being handicapped as a result of Rankers illegal activities – we must, as a support, take all possible measures to prevent this happening (including boycotts).

    Genuine question:

What happens if rANGERs suffer a massive points deduction before the split (I know, I know but bear with me…) which puts them in the bottom six.

There will be no fourth game Vs Thems.

What happens to teh Sky contract in those conditions?!?!?

@cautiousdave No. There’s been an unhealthy relationship between RFC and some Glasgow papers. It’s part of my investigation.

Tried to get you the link to STV scotland to-night, last night, the Irishman english was interviewed re same and was laying it on thick, saying the world was going to end if SKy walk away and leave scottish football without a ball to play with. Me thinkks he protests too much, including his pleading, blackmailing of to-days judgement in court to allow them strraight back into SPL, post kiquidation !!!

I need to take lessons in linking.

  13. I thought that PL spoke sensibly yesterday and didn’t give any hostages to fortune. He was defending us; they were mentioned in passing. I can’t recall any reference to having to play them 4 times a season for SKY.

  15. Can anyone believe the sheer chutzpah of Matthew Lindsay having a go at Alex Thomson for “not uncovering anything” in his piece on RFC?

Can the bold Matthew point to one single story he has ever written worthy of the name “investigative journalism”?

And that’s despite having one of the biggest financial scandals in world football on his doorstep for the last 20 years!?

  16. A couple of minor thoughts/observations this fine Friday morn …

I see alex thomson ‏ @alextomo says: “There’s been an unhealthy relationship between RFC and some Glasgow papers. It’s part of my investigation.”

Not just the Glasgow papers, Alex; and not just the papers.

Also re: the ‘gang of 10′ (and Fergus’ remarks about achieving things without being a member of secret organisation), I wonder how many of this ‘gang’ are members of a secret organisation …

I must say straight away that, I’m not trying to kick something off but….what happened to Neil’s threat of a few weeks ago when he informed us that – “some sections of the media will be, banned in the coming weeks!”

Or, words to that effect ?

Also, while I’m on….I still can’t get my head around Neil’s, immediate response when asked of the, Kayal v elbows clash in December……Neil said “it was two very determined players going for the ball. A 50-50 tackle!”

I still don’t believe Neil said that. WTF ?

Cant help thinking that Sunday will witness the 43000 in their baddest mood ever. Its a lose-lose situation for them. The 7500 will taunt, gloat, laugh, huddle, conga, ridicule, party and celebrate, win lose or draw. I can see it all being too much for that mob. They are on their knees, but will put on a huge show of defiance as the kick-off approaches, their emotions stirred by the Wee Wullie Bluenose video. This will be followed by booming renditions of old favourites referring to Pope, Fenian blood, Famine and Paedophilia… Meanwhile up the other end…

I think that WE are being duped but, I think the underlying reason for that is….Celtic’s hierarchy are, understandably, conscious of the social impact that would be felt by innocent Tims who have the misfortune of, finding themselves in the, wrong place at the, wrong time. Also, it has to be remembered that, we’ve still to play the huns at CP after the split. Maybe PL etc are, trying to keep a lid on the toxic/hun tin for the time being ?

I suspect that the intention is to allow a newco huns into the SPL and to justify it by saying it was the price that had to be paid for retaining the 11-1 voting structure.

Alternatively the huns administrators may do a deal to vote in favour of a change in the voting structure (which change itself requires a minimum of 11 votes) on condition that a newco huns is allowed straight into the SPL.

I can’t avoid feeling that we are about to be royally shafted.
