It was curious that Peter Lawwell was quizzed on potentially having a conflict of interest in deciding if a recent multiple-convict would be regarded by the SFA as Fit and Proper to direct a football club. The club in question are not even in our league; conflict exists only in the heads of those who persist in believing in a ‘Firm which expired on the liquidation of one party.
I’ve avoided the appropriateness of a recent convict directing a football club as the deciding matters appear overwhelmingly obvious. There are no written rules on being Fit and Proper, largely due to the Mahatma Gandhi question posed by Neil Doncaster last year. Gandhi was a convict, but one of impeccable character. The contemporaneous character references are all important. The SFA will also be chastened by recent experiences.
My guess is that in the unlikely event the Nomads acquiesce, Peter Lawwell’s views will be immaterial. “Nobody likes us, we don’t care” has nothing to do with it, just find someone Fit and Proper!
Delighted that Aberdeen’s quest for silverware survived Fir Park last night. This club have underachieved for around 20 years now but Derek McInnes stands a reasonable chance of delivering second place in the league, as well as the League Cup.
Not so delighted at Hibs capitulation. Despite playing like Brazil in the 1970 World Cup for the first 15 minutes of their home tie against Hearts last night they were soon out-muscled, with more than a few players looking miles out of their depth. There is no compensation for Scottish football in Hearts progressing to the semi-finals. They are mid-crisis and will remain so, irrespective of how they perform in cup competitions, but the absence of Hibernian from the genuine challengers is a regret.
Morton went down to a late St Johnstone goal. They have now lost five and drawn one of their six games since winning at Celtic Park, their only victory since August…..
With this in mind, I’ll refrain from referring to the potential advantage of having a Cup Final at ‘home’ until we have earned the right to be there.
Dreadful news of Fernando Ricksen. I hope he finds strength from those close to him in the years ahead.
The new CQN Annual is looking great, really delighted with it. Thank you to everyone who has participated in the project. You can pre-order below:

Sorry ghuys but masonic infiltration of unions means they dance to the same tune playrd by the meeja piper. Its no accident that union leaders are found compromised at every turn. Too much money involveled in being a union rep.

phyllis dietrichson,
I recall Shelbourne FC of Dublin played Euro qualifier at Prenton Park, Tranmere in 1998.
Their opponents that day were a now defunct Glasgow team.

Amazing! Hopefully Sevco follow suit!
12.07 In principle, a club must play all its matches in the competition at one and the same ground. Matches may be played either at the ground of the home club or at another ground in the same or another city within the territory of its association, or, if so decided by the UEFA administration and/or the UEFA disciplinary bodies, in the territory of another UEFA member association for reasons of safety or as a result of a disciplinary measure. In principle, venues are approved only if direct international flights and/or charter flights are able to land within an acceptable distance of the venue, in the country of the club concerned. If the match is being played in another city or country, the venue is subject to the approval of the UEFA administration.
Don’t see how that rules out celtic asking for a consideration on their opening Ucl tie?

Wow, wow, wow!
What I am referring to to is…….. Your presumption that the 6 are deserving of CQN support when no – one, not you nor I, have any idea what they are accused of and have no idea if there is any justification for our support.
The rest of your post is vacuous.
All you do is reaffirm my original post.

…am I allowed not to agree with you at all …. It might happen, but not as a result of any Celtic collusion…I believe political intervention has kept sevco going so far, but don’t think they will last much longer……the money has all disappeared, as they will, soon..

Re Amsterdam . Staying at the Prins Hendrik hotel just across from the station.
Prestonpans – read the whole rule. You’ve made the same selective reading mistake as the BBC guy.

They certainly must despair when faced not only by the likes of Jim Ratcliffe, but attacked not only by David Cameron, Grant Schapp et al, but also by the leader of a Labour Party the Unions actually created. My understanding is that part of the agreement, no strike policy etc. Unite would not be allowed to have a Convenor on site. Related Labour Party schisms or no, Deans’ position was untenable. You accused Deans of mendacity, on what basis I am not sure, but I am of the view that it was Ineos who were doing most of the lying.

So if Sevco gain promotion to the Championship at the end of this season and in the next season win a step up to the Premiership, it is all the fault of “our custodians”.
How does that work?
67heaven..,
If they dont disappear because tims were listening to your bullshit instead of demaniding justice, you wont mind when we come to string you up will you ? :o)
Just wondering… what is now the point of the Labour Party?
CQN Annual ordered. Last year’s was a smashing read.
Can’t remember exact date, but know for a fact,
Ineos had informed major customers to look for alternative suppliers at least a month in advance of any of the troubles breaking ! !
Take from that what you want
The business I work in being one of those, and we commence with a new supplier from tomorrow, 1st Nov.
Pre-planned if you want my opinion
Hail hail
Tom..,
Very simple, there is an opportunity to ensure justice is served up and ensure facilitators are not allowed to influence our game.
While you and 67heaven try and distract everyone from the fundamental principals of sport they move closer to your goal, old firm supporters
Very rare foray on here normally lurk anybody heard from OG Rafferty he’s usually on the money for anyone else interested I’m more active on twitter these days @PJBHoops

Yep see what you mean although I gave comment after one read as for the BBC…..
If Celtic play a European tie in England next season, it will not be the first.
The replayed “home” tie v Rapid Cheatenna, at EUFA instruction.
CowieBhoy, I have now heard from another friend this was the case, i.e. Ineos telling customers to change supplier.
Vive La Resolution.

If your post does not refer to my earlier posts I apologise for my conceit.
However if it does, then I agree, my frankly, crass abuse of S2S’ use of language, was unacceptable.
What I do not retract is the condemnation of the content of his posts.

just read http://tirnaog09.blogspot.co.uk/ brought back some great memories for me. I was to young to be in Lisbon, 4 1/2 at the time, but as we grew older the stories from my uncles and my dad made me part of that day.
We were staying in Bradford at the time and my dad and 3 uncles had an argument with a bookie about the odds he was offering on Celtic to win the cup.
He agreed to give better odds if they bet a higher amount, by higher amount he meant a sum they could never afford. Being canny Scots they pooled their money and put the bet on.
The rest as they say is history, for one of my uncles that day changed his life, he used his winnings to emigrate to Australia where he stayed till his death a few years ago.
He came back every couple of years and he always made it coincide with a cup finale or a Euro game.
He became a very successful man who devoted his spare time to developing the game of football in Australia. A member of the Australian Government spoke of his commitment and passion for the game in the Aussie Parliament after his death and went on to say that he played an integral part in developing the sport of football in that country. Without Lisbon that would never have happened, so many around the world have so much to be grateful for the achievments of the Lisbon Lions.
Doc..,
