Dundee have played 12 games since losing 6-0 at Celtic Park in September, scoring in all but one of those occasions. Only Celtic and Aberdeen have kept them out in 21 games this season. They lost five last time out to Ross County (scoring twice), but scored four against Accies the week before. Season tickets at Dens are excellent value for money. There will be goals when Celtic visit tomorrow.
Kane Hemmings scored five of their six goals against County and Accies. He’s a direct player who makes runs from deep into space but a large portion of his goals come as a consequence of defensive errors. In short, he appears to run at defenders in anticipation of them making a mistake, not a wholly unproductive strategy for strikers playing against Celtic this season.
Ronny Deila will be keen Celtic build on the positives from Tynecastle, although the on-going absence of Leigh Griffiths will be a concern. I reckon we would have seen Carlton Cole at some point against Hearts if it were not for the plethora of injuries which restricted the manager’s options. Hearts had done their homework on Nadir Ciftci, who was well marshalled throughout. He can expect a similar night tomorrow.
Partick Thistle’s role in the title race will come into focus over the next week. They are on an excellent run ahead of tomorrow’s visit to Pittodrie at Saturday’s game at Celtic Park, having won their last four league games. You can win two Premium Seat tickets in the Jock Stein Stand for Saturday’s game, courtesy of Magners, if you answer this question:
Who was the last Partick Thistle manager to win four consecutive top flight games?
Email your answer in the SUBJECT line to celticquicknews@gmail.com before 17:00 tomorrow (30th). My Partick Thistle knowledge is limited, so editors decision if final……
And if you are so minded, having read what you’ve done already for Mary’s Meals in 2015, you can donate a £1 or so towards them here. Many thanks…………

JF is potentially a key Celtic player. However in the last 3 seasons he has only played well in bursts in some games.
At the same time we have invested in players like Armstrong and GMS who have contributed nothing this season and virtually nothing since they joined the club. JF has more to offer than this pair.
I would rather the club develop JF properly than wasting money on mediocre players such as Armstrong ….who rarely completes 90 minutes and is “injured” again.
On a separate note Parkheadcumsalford,
Spot on regarding BBC Scotland and their ostrich like reporting of the sectarian bile pouring out of Ibrox on Monday. It’s strange when Al Lamont can spot one flare up in the gods at the San Siro yet when it comes to his beloved Ibrox club he takes on the party discipline of the North Korean press corps.
Afternoon Timland from a warm hun free mountain valley.
James Forrest should be played through the middle imo.
I remember Lenny saying that he wasn’t tall enough to play there, if we are intent on firing high balls into the box, I agree, but when you look at the likes of Messi, no that I am comparing him to Messi, but he could imo be our Messi if he was played in the number 10 role.
He has scored some superb goals in his time, these have come when he has cut inside and played in the N10 spot.
Give him the chance there and see what happens, as sure as eggs are eggs, he won’t do any worse than Cifcti.
I remember James Forrest playing against Udinese away which was maybe 4 years ago and Lennon gave him a free role and he was absolutely brilliant that game and tore Udinese a good one
I agree with TD67 to that extent to leave the guy to do his own thing as there is a hell of a player there if he isnt restricted in what he does or where he goes on the pitch
James Forrest’s main problem is not his pace or his inconsistency, he can’t shoot, he doesn’t have the technique to strike the ball when in decent positions, he should be sent to Japan to work for a year with The Wee Genius or failing that he should stay behind after every training session to practice his shooting for a couple of hours.
Get the gutty right through it James…
TD and others
The problem with football nowadays is that it has become over complicated by coaches and their iPads and flipcharts,, players are no longer told to go out and ‘express themselves’ they are made to play rigid formations with the emphasis on retaining possession hence the square and backward passes.
Possession as we know doesn’t win games , goals do
Ghuys
Jamsie is too wee for a striker’s role , certainly in the agricultural SPFL , where holding and repeated fouling from the back just before the ball arrives is the norm for an SPFL whistler.
In terms of a free role , Tom imo is better suited to this and if he keeps making progress this season , young Mr Rogic will be a stand out.
I’d keep Jamsie out wide right , he forces the opposition back 10 to 15 yards by just being on the pitch and is clearly under instructions to recycle the ball , if there is not a clear opportunity to skin the full back or when he is double marked ……
Streets ahead of Niall McGinn who is playing most of the time in a far more open game ……..
Hope the wee fella re-signs and pushes on

STARRYPLOUGH
As you know,I rarely get the chance to watch THE HOOOOOOPS in action. But I recall one time v Hearts a few years back my Dad lamented JF playing on the left.
Nae left fit,he told me.
Jamesie scored the opener, left foot right through it-as you said-ferr bust the net!
I’m all for letting creative players be creative. We don’t have many,so let him play his natural game-it only needs a bit of tweaking here and there.
James Forrest
Goals – 4
Assists – 4
Fixed his hair – 334
Season 2014 / 2015
I prefer ” nugget ” or even the Glasgow term “pie”
BTW – the ads that come up on my page at the moment are car insurance and Nutella in polish. Must say I prefer logging on to cqn in warsaw
BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS
I remember that goal good goal but he does drag a lot of his shots, poor technique in my opinion, that being said he is miles and miles ahead of GMS in experience and positional play a real man against a boy situation and you see it when GMS comes on, he’s never played at the level James has and for that I would be happy to see Celtic retain James he is one of our more experienced Euro campaigners…

Just imagining big jock pulling out his iPad and trying to show your dad where he is going wrong :)))))

Has the match delegate’s report arrived yet?]
Or has it went missing in the Post?
ive never been a Jamsie fan.
he had a few good european games, shaktar maybe being the highlight,#
every now and again, he will meet a full back who is dire, and this will give him his best game in a while.
for me his performances had long stretches (whne fit to play i dont mean consecutive games) of ineffectual contribution.
he doesnt do a lot.
i want to be fair, but i cant remember half a dozen games where i came away thinking he was the man.
let him go , let him go, let him go,
let him go
QUONNO
I believe he is still googling the proper response following advice from HQ.
Bugger of a word to spell, equivocation…
TBJ
Aye, he would need war n peace to tell the lions where they went wrong
Off the field obviously ;-))
imagine stein watching forrest repeatedly fail to do the easiest thing in the game.
the cut back from the wing to the onrushing edge of the box to make the contact player.
new article posted.
BLANTYRETIM
Not such a bad idea,bud.
That would work-if he hit them with it!

TD67,
As regards James Forrest, I long to see him running at teams. He scares them stiff. As you say, he seems to be under orders not to do so, unless he’s afraid after being kicked and injured so often. Maybe it’s a confidence thing. No doubt in my mind that he is a football player.
