Two significant goals

729

Nir Bitton’s goal was special but two goals last night were more significant.  Leigh Griffiths header for the first belied the player’s height and stature.  His scoring record with his head in recent months has been spectacular, whether darting into space to nick the ball goal-wards, as he did away to Dundee and Dundee United, or when he uses his salmon-leap to get up and stay up.

When he was at Livingston Leigh was the next hot young thing.  For whatever reason his path to the top wasn’t straight, but he’s now first choice striker at Scotland’s top club and making the most of it.

James Forrest’s goal was also full of what we want to see from him.  One-on-one with a defender, with space to run into, he did what he needed to do.  His pace took him past the defender and turned an opportunity into great chance.

Several players are finishing the season strongly.

Some call it karma. others call it obsession. For me, it is a desire for justice. A blatant penalty and a red card were both denied. Real justice would have seen Hearts go on to win via an incorrect call by the referee but , in the end, a draw and remaining in third place was justice of a sort and, as such, gives me pleasure. Motherwell and Saint Mirren down; Hearts and Hibs ( or QotS) up and the title won today would all be very nice 0:-)

Yep. Let’s not allow our laughing at Thems blind us to the fact that Hearts are nearly as bad.

I’m already looking forward to tanking them next season.

I feel that I best apologise for mentioning I was at church this morning

Also for mentioning my visits to mosques .. Hindu temples .. Buddhist temples and a Hare Krishna temple in New Delhi .

Obviously all of the above were an attempt to show I’m a Celtic supporter

I suppose I shouldn’t mention going to Celtic park and various other grounds either

  8. HT…

They have a home/away against QOS first and when they get fecked the premier league expands, allowing them promotion.

Fight is 4am start as others have already said. A wee tip is to check bookie’s sights for start of any sporting event – they can’t afford to get it wrong

    Horrible hun

  18. Robbie Nelson just interviewed by shortbread. Not asked about penalty not given and his sending to stand. Pathetic. Probably worried that he might call the integrity of mins into question.

I am sure like you thousands of others will be attending the same event and will not feel the need to post on GAA blogs wether they have been to mass or not. Of what relevance going to mass or not has to sporting events I cannot fathom out

Anyway if the crowd in attendance is truly representative of the Irish population in general…only 30% of them will have been to mass that day
