Two significant goals

729

Nir Bitton’s goal was special but two goals last night were more significant.  Leigh Griffiths header for the first belied the player’s height and stature.  His scoring record with his head in recent months has been spectacular, whether darting into space to nick the ball goal-wards, as he did away to Dundee and Dundee United, or when he uses his salmon-leap to get up and stay up.

When he was at Livingston Leigh was the next hot young thing.  For whatever reason his path to the top wasn’t straight, but he’s now first choice striker at Scotland’s top club and making the most of it.

James Forrest’s goal was also full of what we want to see from him.  One-on-one with a defender, with space to run into, he did what he needed to do.  His pace took him past the defender and turned an opportunity into great chance.

Several players are finishing the season strongly.

Ps Mickbhoy, he might be you’re type of Celtic supporter but he’s not mine. I’m not sure of the relevance of your comment about attending Mass.

In which case,I take it back. Either way,Murray broke every rule as a referee. Their space is sacrosanct.

  4. I hope the rumours about us being interested in Wilson are untrue. He’s not good enough.

I watched the whole incident he threw his jersey at Murray after red card and players restrained him from more before he went to their end and threw in his vest and that top they wear under the strip these days.

Hearts waste a corner , taking a short one.

Why do teams ever bother taking a short corner? They’re almost always a waste.

Ooof, that’s a sore one buddy.

Some fine goals, Griffiths jump was perfection in the timing, gets a wee run on the defender who is flat footed, but great pace in the header to beat the keeper.

As I said, Brown’s for me, also very hard to score a goal like that through the middle of a packed defence, timing of pass and run and finish had to be and all were perfect.

    Pen from Common’s well finished.

James’s finish was very clinical, and again a perfect pass from Commons.

Big Nir’s finish out of the top drawer.

    From The Telegraph.

“Cambridge United will become the first club in the country to breathalyse fans entering the ground as part of a bid to reduce anti-social behaviour

Football fans across the country could soon be breathalysed before entering grounds in a bid to stamp out anti-social behaviour and drunkenness at matches.

The first initiative of its kind will be trialled at Saturday’s game between League Two sides, Cambridge United and Burton Albion.

Stewards at Cambridge’s Abbey Stadium will be presented with breathalyser devices called AlcoBlows, which will be used to measure whether fans are too drunk to be allowed entry.

While the breathalysers will not be used on every supporter attending the match, anyone who appears to be intoxicated will be asked to blow into the device.

If they are found to give a sample of 70 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, which is twice the legal drink drive limit, they will be refused admission.

The scheme is an extension of a system operating in a number of towns and cities across the country where pub and club doormen use breathalysers to bar entry to revellers who are too drunk.”

Does anyone know what time the actual Mayweather Pacquaio fight is due to start at tonight?

Thinking of watching it but don’t want to watch a 4 hour adathon to find it starts about 4 am .

    Cheers

  14. Turkeyboy,

I agree that Board has done many good things incl Lawwell.

However factually speaking have they ever stood up for the supporters. Have they ever stood up against the corruption/ cheating like Fergus did.

Lawwell will never rock the boat with the SFA. It would be a conflict of interests as he is a major player on the SFA Board. It’s perfect for the SFA as the cheating continues ; Celtics CEO is part of the gang. Fergus didn’t need to join the hampden club to take out Farry. If this happened now , Lawwell would sweep it under the carpet.

Lawwell is part of the regime that is shafting Celtic.

The poverty of football between these two is amazing and the msm think us winning the league would be more creditable with that mob in it!

If only I knew where remote control was and turn this pish off……..

  16. Fergus Blah blah

Fergus told us he would give us our club back. He fkd off with £35 million, that’s right, £35 million and left us with a PLC and Dermot Desmond. He’s no hero of mine am afraid.

While we dismantled Dudnee last night anyone else think their CF tankulic , no 21, looked like a decent player.

He had no support but I thought he did pretty well to hold it up on a few occasions.

    Read that earlier. Astonishing.

I think they should breath test everyone in the upper stands.

Once they’ve got to their seats.

    That’ll clog up the system.

My Dad and I swapped our 111seats wi ACGR once so him and his lad could experience the Green Brigade.

They had a great time, obviously. I was on oxygen in 404.
